Okay, guess I will try again later. 20 Keen Eye Starlys was starting to seem a little ridiculous, but I guess I've had worse days.

This might be why you can't see a DW ability despite the female parent having the DW ability; Starly's only ability is Keen Eye, so you won't see whether it has the DW ability or not until it evolves into Staravia.

(checked on both Serebii and Bulbapedia)

Wish works just like Recover as far as rounding goes, it rounds down. So if a Pokémon had 10/100 health and used Recover, they would have 60/100. If they had 10/101 and used Recover, they would have 60/101

I'm pretty sure this person is right, and is the reason why you find staravias instead of starlys in the dream world.

So after you go hatch one, you should go kill something high level fast with an EXP share and then check it's ability.

omg THANK YOU for that. That never would've occurred to me, since most pre-evos have at least SOME hidden ability (Rattled, etc). I totally didn't bother to check Starly's page on serebii!

Haha, wow, Game Freak... I was thinkin it might've been issues with incest, or the female holding the Everstone, I dunno. :P

Wow, I just checked the list on serebii of all the pokemon with DW abilities. And Starly is the ONLY non-levitating, first-stage Pokemon (it seems) that DOESN'T get a DW ability. It's a sheer anomaly.

I guess I picked an unlucky first DW Pokemon to IV Breed. Good thing this confusion won't ever happen again.

Geez, why Game Freak be hatin' on Starly??

Are any of them gaining Reckless when they level up, or are you actually doomed here because they've all got Keen Eye?

It'd be awful if they all got stuck with Keen Eye / Intimidate, imo. It'd make getting a well IV'd Reckless Staraptor a monstrous feat, to say the least.

is the move me first power affected by hold items like choice band/specs?

Example if i have a lickilicky with a choice band and he me first's a earthquake is the power of it increased

It's still effected by items, at least in gen 4. It may have changed, but I doubt it.

Does the Wide Lens boost accuracy by 10% or by 10% of the attack, for instance, would it make an attack with 50% accuracy have 55% or 60%?

Is there any possible way a chatot can have grasswhistle on it? Through event, gen4, breeding, anything. I'm pretty sure the answer is no, i just wanna be sure.

I don't know if this is the right place but what is a "legal hack"?

Thanks for answering Spweasel and treadshor A1 it makes sense now. People are just to damn lazy to train like a normal person :P

I don't know if this is the right place but what is a "legal hack"?
It's where a Pokemon is hacked (had its stats, moves, etc. altered in some way), but in such a way that the resulting Pokemon could be obtained in-game. For example, changing a Pokemon's IV's to 31 is a legal hack, but changing all of its EVs to 255 (and thus going over the 510 point limit) is not.

A Pokemon hacked into a game, but with moves/items/ball/IVs/EVs etc. That one could get legally in game.

It basically means the people using them didn't want to go to all the trouble of RNG'ing and EV training, and just wanted to battle.

EDIT: Accelgor'd. Still, important to note that EVERYTHING must be able to gotten in game legally. That includes Pokeballs, ribbons, etc.

What happens if I baton pass a Ditto a boost, let's say +6 Attack - and it Transforms into something already at +6 attack, will this be boosted again, meaning I could get 16x the original attack stat?

What outspeeds Modest Kingdra with 0 evs in speed when it has the Swift Swim boost? If the answer is a lot, then approximately what base speed with max speed investment out speeds it.
I have absolutely no idea how speed calculation works...

Fire Blast or Roost on DD Salamence?

Salamence doesn't take hits very well, so Roost doesn't help that much. I'd go with Fire Blast.

What outspeeds Modest Kingdra with 0 evs in speed when it has the Swift Swim boost? If the answer is a lot, then approximately what base speed with max speed investment out speeds it.

Modest 0 EV Kingdra has 206 speed, which is doubled to 412 in the rain. A pokemon needs 138 base speed minimum to outspeed with just a +speed nature and 252 speed EVs. A pokemon needs a base speed of 76 or more to outspeed with a +1 boost (Choice Scarf, for example), a +speed nature, and 252 speed EVs.

To calculate stats other than HP (at level 100), use [(base stat * 2) + IV + EV/4 + 5] * nature modifier.
