5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Hello! I posted earlier, but I am still having the same problem.

I am using the guide posted on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4zNQH9cC3w) and each time when I hit search (at 6:05 in the video) I get 0 results.

I am hitting my target one second ahead, and I am not hitting any buttons on screen until the Game Freaks logo vanishes.

I am calculating the IVs of the Pokemon that I capture using this IV Calculator:

Here is how I entered the data:

I've tried just entering just the IV numbers in the boxes, the IV range consisting of only the bold numbers, and the IV range consisting of all the numbers by spread and still I get no results!

What am I doing wrong?

For calibrating, you tell it what you think that you hit, not what you were "supposed" to hit. Also, make sure you aren't pressing buttons, and you may want to have a capture with a smaller range if at all possible.

But I enter my number one second ahead, correct? So if I hit 29 seconds, I was told to enter 30:
Make sure to press A on the DS menu one second before your target second, because there's a small off-set.

I'm not hitting any buttons, and where could I capture a Pokemon with a smaller range? I thought no NPCs could be in the area?

also if that is supposed to be 10:33:30 pm then change it to 22:33:30 because like the ds it uses military time

Ah, yes. Thank you!

No, just one with different IVs may end up giving you an answer.
Some people have a calibrated delay of zero or two.
So you put in the time as what you hit, and if there is a difference between that and the actual time, that's your calibrated delay; how much you set it off for when you are trying to get specific seeds.

Thank you, I will keep trying!

yes. If you hit the same seed and perform the same actions, the NPCs will move exactly the same.

In depth: their Movement direction and Movement Timer are set by the RNG when needed.

Thanks alot kaphotics, you're an hero.Time to get that shiny dragonite mhamhamha

Hi, I'm having basically the same problem with RNG Reporter as Allishonca. I actually a couple days ago even managed to set up everything and RNG'd myself a near-flawless shiny Virizion. So I have had everything work before. However, ever since I closed the program after that neither has it saved my information nor can I re-calibrate it again.
Just like Allishonca when I enter the information(DS's MAC adress, date/time, sweet-scented pokemon's IVs) and hit search it gives me nothing. All the information is put in correctly, I'm not holding buttons and neither am I doing anything different from the first time I did it the other day when it worked.

Also I've tried deleting the program and config file and re-downloading it, deleting just the config file and trying to calibrate it then, and restarting my computer and any other random thing I could think of might reset it. I also tried catching pokemon in different places with different IVs and stuff too but no dice. I also tried a bunch of times to hit an IV seed to see if it had saved my data but it must not have either since none of them worked.

I really don't get why it worked before but now it's just not.

I don't think it'll help but here's a screen of it.

Hmm... that is weird. Are you catching a pokemon in a place where there are NPCs? Maybe that's the problem, but Idk, since NPCs don't do anything to IVs. Try going to Lostlorn Forest and catching there.

like you said it should't and victory road where the rival appears is another spot... this seems to be happening to multiple people bug in the program?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the MAC Address was 12 characters long. Fayt980 only has 10 down.

Well I'll be damned, out of all the things I could mess up. Yep, that was it. Each time I somehow forgot 2 of the numbers in the middle. Thanks a lot guys, now it works. I feel a bit embarassed for that hardcore overlook. lol

Can I use the parameters from my DS if I want to abuse on a flash cart? I just have a normal DS Lite, and that flash cart of mine isn't made for DSi or newer DS systems.

Okay! So I also finally got results, but them I'm unsure what to do after that?

In the video tutorial, the guy closes the Parameters box, and his data is then displayed on RNG Reporter. My version of RNG Reporter is the newest version, and my Timer0, GxStat, VFrame, etc., are not displayed on the main window.

Bascially, I don't understand the video after I close the Parameters tab. What I am suppose to do next? I hit generate, but my seed didn't reappear in the main window?

How many times have you searched your parameters? Because doing it once is not enough. Recommendation is to do it at least 7-10 times because you might have a second Timer0 and you have to figure out which one is more common.

When you do, after you search your parameters click the "Use result in time finder", go to "time finder" in the main window of RNG reporter, click on whatever tab you plan on RNGing, fill the criteria, then go to the "search parameters" tab and change the keypress from "0" to "3" and click generate in the tab you're searching (capture, eggs). In the search parameters tab you'll see your parameters when you clicked "use result in time finder".

Ah yes, thank you!

Hello, very new to RNG here. So I found this seed
Picture2-2.png

Now that I have this, I should just have to set my DS to the time and date and start it right? Then advance the frame to 21. And I would do this buy taking 128 steps with X amount of pokemon in my party to advance the frame by X? So if it starts at 1, I should only have to walk 128 steps 4 times with 5 pokemon in my party? Any help greatly appreciated.

Do the search again except change hold keys from "none" to "3" and change the min/max frame 1 only.

This will broaden your search though it will take longer. But in the long run it's best because walking around is a nuisance to keep track of. With the IVRNG at frame 1 it saves you headaches.

If you insist on using that frame then go ahead. You would set your DS time to 8:01:00 on the mentioned date, wait for 47 seconds to hit then press A immediately, don't hold any buttons until the game freak logo and proceed to walk as you mentioned. When you finish, chat/save however many times to advance the PIDRNG to get the poke you're looking for.

Which is why I say do the IV frame of min/max 1 because with that you only have to advance the PIDRNG, not both IVRNG and PIDRNG.
