Data Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer (ASB Version)

Ghost Curse bypasses a Pokemon's Substitute. You could've answered the question yourself had you just done a 2 second search on Veekun.

Wait, so @ShinySkarmory's Nincada question: You don't get both, like you do ingame? Because it's not an evolution, Shedinja just appears when you evolve into Ninjask.
I was always under the impression you got both, and if you don't get both, then you should.

Yeah I don't really see any reason you wouldn't get both.

The only possible issue might be what nature the Shedinja will end up with.

But as to whether we'd get a Shedinja, a Ninjask, or both, we might need an official verdict from Deck.

EDIT: Can I use Psychic to throw an enemy pokemon into another enemy pokemon in a double battle?

OK, if I ref a 1v1v1 singles battle, how much RC would I get?

Would it count as a brawl and I would get 7 RC (3 pokemon + 3 trainers + 1 extra) or would it be something else.

Likewise, what about 2v2v2 singles? Would it be 10 or have I overlooked something?

And no Rising Dusk, I can't find this on veekun.

You can't find it on Veekun, but you can find it here

Melee Battles: 1 Ref token per Pokemon per participant + 1 (e.g. 3 participants in a 3vs3 Melee is 10 Ref tokens.)

1v1v1 Singles: (1 + 1 + 1) + 1 = 4 RC
2v2v2 Singles: (2 + 2 + 2) + 1 = 7 RC

OK, I have a situation in a battle where a pokemon is both asleep for 1 action and confused for 1 action. Does the pokemon:

a) remain asleep on that 1 action and, upon waking up, snap out of confusion
b) remain asleep on that 1 action and, upon waking up, remain confused for 1 action
c) something else?

From Bulbapedia on Confusion:
Confusion wears off after 1-4 attacking turns. This means that turns recharging, such as after using Hyper Beam, and turns unable to attack, such as from paralysis, will not lower the remaining number of turns of confusion. However, a sleeping Pokémon may hurt itself in confusion if using a move such as Snore or Sleep Talk.

Judging from this, the action sleeping doesn't count towards the confusion count unless the sleeping Pokemon uses Snore/Sleep Talk, so the Pokemon will still be confused for an action after waking up.

Flamestrike is correct. Confusion only decrements when you actually attempt to act, not on actions where you cannot act (such as full paralysis or sleep turns).

Can I evolve a pokemon into its second form (after a completed battle) when I am using it in its first form in another battle that started after the first one?

I have two pokemon that are eligible for evolution that this applies to, so I'd like to know ASAP.

Yes, that's perfectly fine. The Pokemon won't be evolved for the battle where it's still in its first form but will be evolved for all future battles.

Would Bodyblock work against Heat Wave? I was originally thinking it would, and calcs would be done as if there was only one target, but I'm not sure.

I think it should since it's a hot current of air, a wave, and if you gen in front of your friend you would get hit nearer the origin of the heat and with a stronger breeze, but you would block it, i think the same would apply to discharge and "wave-like-attacks" with surf being the big exception thanks to it filling the field

This may or may not be a simple question to answer, but I would just like to know if there's any conventional wisdom about the following question:

How do "adjacent"-based moves like Surf and Earthquake work in Triples+ matches when positioning is off? Does everything on the field get hit or is it on the attacker to select which opponents and which teammates to target? Or is it up to the ref to determine which Pokemon are adjacent to each other?

Personally I think it should be that the user targets the three opponents to hit, and the friendlies hit should be RNGed, although i guess just everything getting hit would make sense too

Fairly certain there is a clause in the Data Audit thread post that says the word adjacent is to be ignored when positioning is not in play.

EDIT:

Adjacent terminology in some attack targeting is only relevant for multi-battles where players want to play with positions factored in. In cases where position is decided to not matter in a match by both players, the word adjacent can simply be omitted from the targeting of moves. All other attacks not noted below are assumed to be able to target only one adjacent Pokemon, ally or foe.

So what you're saying is, for attacks like Surf and Earthquake in positioning=OFF battles is "This attack hits all adjacent Pokemon"? That seems pretty intense, although it makes the most flavor sense.
