I think I am decent at battling and predicting, but I have trouble being a decent team builder to cover all my holes, is there a decent place to learn how to build teams, that is not the RMT thread?

Just out of slight curiosity.

The battling 101 forum, but its a long wait, and there are some unexpected problems with being tutored.

Honestly, I just read up of other peoples RMTs and look at the articles on site. For example if you want to run a sun team, they basically give you the formula for one. Now of course your never going to get to the very very top, following strict formulas, but begards can't be choosers. Some people just don't have it to be absolutely amazing, which is like 97% of people here.

Applying to become a tutee in the Battling101 system and learn some basics about team building and everything.

I honestly like Xchat for Windows. You can use this one and avoid paying for it. It has a simple interface and, if you really want, some scripts written in perl can be used.

Hope this isn't a horrid question, but what does the term, "apparently hatched" mean? What makes something hatch "apparently"?

ehhh. doesnt mean anything.
probably says apparently because the game isnt supposed to know EXACTLY where the egg hatched and has to rely on a erroneous account of the hatching of the egg?

Hi i got a question about MS dragonite.

If there is sandstorm + stealth rocks , his MS is broken and remains broken right?
Unless he roosts back up , that is. Leftovers is neutralised with sandstorm , so the SR dammage still breaks it.
As SR and sandstorm are almost always in the picture , why is MS dragonite so good ? Or is it only good when no SR or something ?

PS: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3454569 rate if you got the time please ^^

correct

This is not true anymore in gen V. There are other 2 viable weathers and Dragonite happens to work perfectly on both sun and rain teams. As for SR, yeah, it can still be considered a standard battle condition, but you can pack a spinner or Espeon\Xatu to prevent SR from being laid on the field.

In short, MS Dnite is definitely overhyped but can be deadly with proper support.

hey ive had alot of trouble on PO. so much so that ive lost 13 of my 14 battles. so my question is this, do you have any suggestions for a good stall team?
my current team consists of tangrowth, skarmory, swampert, rueniculis, magnezone, and chansey. any suggestions?

You probably need a sweeper to clean up at the end. Plus, a spinblocker like dusclops is good. Finally, why not replace tangrowth with a poke that knows tspikes? Eg roserade

I recently have dabled into a bit of stall. Here is the basic problem, you not using good enough pokemon for a stall team. For example, how is Reunicles stalling, or what is Reunicles doing for a stall team? If its semi-stall use a better offensive pokemon like Dragonite or Terrakion. Overall, Magnezone, Swampert, and Tangrowth, are not pokemon one would think about for a stall team.

what the hell do you do with this team

what strategy do you use to stall

Needs more stallish pokemon like Ferrothorn, Hippowdon, etc. Magnezone isn't even stall, it's placed on OFFENSIVE teams that need an easy way to kill Skarmory...

oooh, so you could ask for team advises here huh?

Well, currently I'm working with a competitive team consisting of Pokemon all having the ability Regenerator. It's working ok as of the moment, but maybe I could get some suggestions here. this is what I have so far:

Mienshao @ Life Orb: Fake Out / Hi Jump Kick / Stone Edge / U-turn
Audino @ Light Clay: Trick Room / Reflect / Light Screen / Wish
Slowbro @ Life Orb: Trick Room / Surf / Psyshock / Fire Blast
Reuniclus @ Life Orb: Trick Room / Psyshock / Shadow Ball / Focus Blast
Tangrowth @ Life Orb: Power Whip / Earthquake / Rock Slide / Poison Jab
Amoongus @ Leftovers: Spore / Giga Drain / Clear Smog / Hidden Power Fire

So basically, it's an offensive (4 Life Orbs!) Trick Room team, that switches a lot for recovery, under screen and Wish support from Audino. For emergencies, I go to Amoongus.

Suggestions for the team slots, EVs, movesets, etc?
As much as possible, i'd like to limit the team to Regenerator pokemon. Thus, the only other pokemon I could use are the pre-evo's of the above 'mons, Slowking, Corsola, and Alomomola.

And yes, I use Regenerator Reuniclus, not Magic Guard. Crazy, huh? ^^

I currently need a good special wall that can counter sun teams, especially Ninetales and Venusaur (I'm running a rain team by the way). Two pokes came to my mind; Specially Defensive Heatran and Blissey. Which one is better? Also, if I run Heatran, is Lava Plume viable since the weather is going to be rain most of the time, so should I run Fire Blast instead for more power?

^ Blissey tends to be better on a rain team, as you might guess, Heatran in rain tends to be rather meh. Mostly, it does depend quite a bit on the team, though. For example, you'll have to keep rain up to check some variants of Volcarona with Blissey. For Heatran, this isn't a problem at all bar HP Ground variants. With minimum investment, Fire Blast isn't even going to hurt that much in rain anyways, so I'd rather stick with Lava Plume if you choose Heatran--the burn would cause more damage against resistors. Lava Plume also has the advantage of not having only 8 PPs.

hmm good point. However, is this even viable(I think I've seen it somewhere before). Since I have 2 big problems with Ninetales and Venusaur, and since Heatran can wall both of their attacks and KO back with Lava Plume and Earth Power(since the sun will be up when they arrive), can Heatran be a sun team counter on a rain team? Outside of rain it'll just act as a specially defensive wall

I've read just now Issue 16 (especially articles about weather), is there a section / thread / whatever where i can explain my own ideas? I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me... there are a few (a few, but too recurrent) that makes battles extremely boring, always the same...

You could make a thread about it on Dragonspiral, if you think many people will agree with your views. I don't promise anything good though, you need to be a Smogon Silver member for that.
