Scrafty

lol i guess so.

but he has fantastic offensive typing which makes common UU Walls useless. (Slowbro and dusclops for exampl)

Moltres is pretty lonely these days. She'd love a new UU Pokemon she can wall & destroy. I don't really feel like running the calcs for +1 Crunch vs Air Slash. I'm just assuming she can beat him. Could be completely wrong.

Not entirely useless, standard Dusclops can survive a Jolly +2 Crunch and cripple it with Will-O-Wisp, after which Scrafty isn't anywhere as threatening.

Hello Shed Skin. I would like to DD on your Dusclops as many times as possible and thrash your team afterward.

Bring in the Hitmontops.

Scrafty (F) @ Life Orb / Chesto Berry
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Rest
- Drain Punch
- Crunch

Scrafty being UU would probably be very short lived, it would become BL VERY quickly. I dont see scrafty being UU anytime soon. The shed skin bulk up is arguably only getting competition from snorlax and reuniclus as a bulky curser/calm minder.

But Head Smash has the unfortunate side effect of taking massive recoil, and Scrafty is a powerful attacker, so it would probably be best to try and help its' longevity.

not to mention that although Scrafty's bulky, it has low HP, so the Head Smash recoil would really hinder its sweep.

So it's agreed that Head Smash is not a good move for our ghetto lizard. It's better suited for Rock Head Relicanth or things that can take the recoil.

^If you just want to know how defensive you need to be to avoid an ohko, then you don't need any EVs at all. It does 88% max which isn't a ko with SR up. Mach punch is a base 40 power attack afterall.

Damn, Scrafty is bulky as hell. I thought since it was SE, Banded and coming off max attack Conkeldurr it would in the very least be a clean OHKO after Rocks.

Time to go build a team around Scrafty; what kind of teammates does he love?

Depends on the set. Bulky DD or BU with shed skin can work just about anywhere as long as you have a way to pick off relevant phazers like skarmory who scrafty actually fears.

MoxieDD is another story. You'll probably want stuff like Scizor and Rotom-W, who do a good job wearing your opponent's team down before Scrafty can come in and clean house.

He means Shed Skin and Rest.

Without Shed Skin, Rest on Conkeldurr is kind of a bad idea, which is what he was saying I believe.

^^^

Anyways, i'm gonna share this crappy set that I randomly made:

Scrafty w/ Leftovers
Ability: Shed Skin/Intimidate
Nature: Impish
EV's: 252 HP 252 Def/Sp Def 4 Atk
-Amnesia/Bulk Up
-Dragon Tail
-Toxic
-Drain Punch

Teammates: As much hazards as possible.

This set utilizes Scrafty's amazing bulk into great use. The main purpose of it is to Dragon Tail and Toxic threats that come in. Ramdom steel? Use Drain Punch. I also use Drain Punch for recovery. Shed Skin is the obious choice, but if u wanna switch in on physical threats, use intimidate. You can choose Amnesia or Bulk Up depending on your personal preference/if your team is more weak to a certain kind of sweepers. Make sure to adjust the EV's so that u gain the most bulk from both sides.

ik its crappy.

Scrafty would work well in tandem with Scarf Tyranitar, I reckon. Scarf TTar kills the likes of Reuniclus and Lati@s, Scrafty deals with things like Excadrill and Conkeldurr.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but their offensive romance seems really good.

Scrafty doesn't really appreciate Tyranitar negating his Leftovers though...

I'm a bloody idiot, I forgot Scrafty doesn't even care about Psychic attacks.

Well, Scrafty hates things like Terrakion and Bulk Up Conkeldurr. So, Reuniclus compliments him well. He switches in on Dark-types moves like a boss and proceeds to Bulk Up. Similarly, Reuniclus absorbs Fighting moves and can start up her own boosting spree.
