5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

As usual, you're still a great help to everyone Buckert. :D

For example, I have a starting PID Frame of 48 and a target frame of 239, does that mean I need to do 191 Chatot Chatters?

*I'm just starting out and I'm not sure if the Chatot Chatters mean that you go to the Summary Page of Chatot with a Chatter learned through the DS Microphone*

Edit:

NVM, finally got it! :D

I just have one problem about breeding. I can't seem to get any results when I search. Is it because the "Shiny" option is set to default?

You might want to set your KeyPress Combo to 3, and you are using the Shiny Egg for 5th gen, right?

Yep, 5th Gen. :)

How does moving NPC's affect PID RNG? It seems difficult to do captures in routes where there is a moving NPC. >_>

They effectively change your starting frame. It's fairly simple to deal with though. When you enter the game, get to the menu as fast as you can and sweet scent. If you hit your seed, the pokemon you catch should be a little ways after your calculated starting frame. When i'm breeding it's usually four but some areas will advance it more.

How would I be able to know how much Chatters I need to do before picking up my egg? Does an egg also have a starting PID frame? Or does the new RNG Reporter automatically fix that now?

The new RNG reporter gives your starting PID for that seed. But NPCs on Route 3 shift your ID frame a bit. Your true frame is at least 4-6 frames from the given PID from RNG Reporter.

Excuse me if I could have some help please, I'd appreciate it. c:
I have a standard, non-Cgear seed. The Full seed.
I forgot to write down the time & date for it.
Is it possible to input the Seed somewhere into RNG Reporter so I'll receive the date & time, or does RNG reporter need to regenerate it for me to get the date & time?

Sorry, but you're out of luck unless Excel has an ability I don't know about. I hope you can remember the approximate month to start searching again.

Do you have Excel on your computer? The ideal way to save seeds is to either save the output to CSV file, or c/p individual seeds, plus all the info in that row, (use keyboard shortcuts,) into an Excel file. As a good seed is often useful for many different pokemon, it's worth saving the info carefully.

How would I know how many chatters I need to do? Is there an option in RNG reporter where I could put my seed and find my shiny egg frame?

When you search for the seed initially, you need to tick the "Search for nearby shiny frames" box, and choose, in the box above it, the maximum number of chatters you feel like doing. If you want a seed for a good shiny, you need to go into "5th Gen DS Parameters Setup" at the top and enable 3 key-presses.

When you have found a seed to use, save all the info for it, you'll need this later.

Copy the full seed from this and paste it into Seed(Hex) in the main Reporter window. Make sure you have all the settings correct. Press "Calculate Initial PIDRNG Frame" to find your Starting Frame. Subtract this from your "Nearby Shiny" frame to find your approximate starting PIDRNG frame. If it's a negative number, ditch your seed.

While you're there click "Generate" and do not check any of the 4 boxes beside the generate box.

If wandering NPCs or weather are advancing the PIDRNG frame, you will need to calibrate by a process of trial and error, comparing what you catch with the frames you see in the Reporter main window to learn by how much the frame is being advanced. (Learning the %6 method can help locate the frame your catch is on.) Subtract these advances from your starting frame and you have your shifted starting frame. This is the number of chatters you need to do. (Make sure you record a chatter after getting Chatot from your computer or chattering will do nothing.)

Your shifted starting frame may vary with each attempt at first, but practice will make it easier to hit the same frame each time.

The above is correct but you can also use the 4th/5th gen shiny egg finder if you know your parents ivs. Just like the Capture tab, it will tell you what frame your target shiny is on. I would recommend using it instead of the capture tab for breeding.

Which do I use? Capture Tab or 4th/5th Gen Shiny Egg?
I know my parents' IV's, I now have a seed of 71BDB75BE8828C8B

What's the next step?

That seed, is it from a search for a seed for your egg, or is it from your parameters search? What stage are you up to in RNGing? You really should get the hang of doing a few wild and/or stationary pokemon before you try breeding shinies.

StrOngbad is right, once you have parents with good IVs, you are better off using the Shiny Egg Finder. However what I wrote is worth noting because it applies to RNGing in general.

Is there a list for the 5th gen Ability numbers? (like Ability 0, Ability 1?)

You can also tell by using Serebii's Pokedex. If you go to a Pokemon's pokedex entry, say Teddiursa's (<3), then you would just look at its abilities. Whichever one is listed first is ability 0, and the second one listed is ability 1. So for Teddiursa, Pickup is ability 0 and Quick Feet is ability 1! :)

Edit: Nvm, you found your answer :P

Actually I've been doing that lol. I was just unsure is all. Thanks for your response though.

I need a little bit of help because I think I'm stuck. I'm going for a non-shiny Modest Deino that knows Dark Pulse with all IVs flawless except Attack. I already have a male Deino that knows Dark Pulse and a Modest flawless Ditto (will be female) holding an Everstone. I put them in the Daycare and I'm all set and saved in front of the Daycare man when the egg is in his hands, with my Chatots ready.

I got a seed like normal from RNGReporter, pasted the full seed into the main window, selected BW breeding, checked the Ditto parent box, and set the nature to Modest. I then generated and a bunch of PIDs came up for Modest, but I'm not exactly sure which one to pick so I don't know how many chatters I need. I calculated my starting PID frame to be 45. I picked a random PID, found the difference between that and the starting frame, did my chatters accordingly, quickly grabbed the egg from the man to avoid the NPCs disrupting me, and hatched it, only to get a Lax Deino instead. I looked on the list of PIDs RNGReporter gave me and Lax wasn't anywhere near the one I picked. At level 1, I couldn't easily calculate the IVs (didn't Rare Candy it).

I feel like I'm doing something wrong with picking my PID. Did I miss any steps? Also, is there an easier way to know if I hit my seed (I read the guide and it said I can go catch anything in Victory Road and check it's IVs but I don't know what to compare them to so I got lost after that). If the full seed, date, time, keypress, etc. are needed, I will post them.
