League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

@porygon3: I'm level 16, and admittedly, I haven't been able to go for early buffs until I bought Amumu, who, even with my terrible runes (I bought some early before I understood the game, noob mistake), I can kill blue with alone 90% of the time. I just played yet another game where I asked someone to leash, and no one understood what I was talking about.

In addition, people start teamfights without me. And since I've mostly been using Sona/Rammus/Amumu, it irks me to no end when my team gets slaughtered and then gets mad at me when I try my hardest to 1v4 or something and get killed quickly. People don't seem to realize that I'm supposed to take the hits if I'm a tank.

As far as ganking goes, I'm not too shabby at that. WW ganks beautifully; I had a game that was like 21/5/8 or something like that from WW ganks. I'm pretty good at it with Rammus too, though I usually get assists for those, since I q in, and then e and w while my teammate realizes (sometimes) that a gank has been initiated. Amumu, I'm getting there with him; learning how to correctly Bandage Toss is key. Sadly, playing with randos means that my ult is usually wasted, as I time it in teamfights to snag their whole team, and my team decides it'll be a good time to flee.

Once I can get Vladimir, I'll probably stop using junglers and just stick to lanes unless I'm with competent players...I mean, I'm not that great myself, but holy hell I am tired of losing because our top is sucking ass and I need to rush in at lvl 2 to try to help...

EDIT: Jebus, you might want to know that in your Amumu guide, the videos for Sustained Jungling and Counter-Jungling (except for that first vid) were taken off of YouTube by the account owner, so they're useless now.

just played my last ladder game for a while, JUNGLE WARWICK for all you fans out there

take note of how i specifically counter gangplank at his red after he takes one of my small wraiths, as i know that gangplank hits 5 while doing red as opposed to his double golems (it's level 5 clear instead of 4 since he started vamp scepter). i know that our lanes are basically ungankable with the exception of bot, which are dominating at all points of the game except for when gangplank is actively ganking them due to caitlyn + soraka super poke

because of this i focus on hitting my small camps as they come up, securing buffs and generally leveling and being ready for dragon. we get the first dragon and 2 kills for 2 kills and bot tower, not a bad trade since losing bot tower means caitlyn can farm closer to the rest of the team. this is significant later on as she acquires a huge creep score without ever being ganked

as the game progresses i build pretty much pure tank so that irelia and myself can initiate on their backline and allow morgana and cait to do damage. we get into a great fight and take the second baron of the game after we catch ezreal out of position while irelia isolates brand, the only other major source of damage on their team

i didn't buy sunfire purely because their ezreal was getting demolished every team fight, so i decided to build enough mr that i could shrug off singed and sona, while being able to threaten brand well

you'll also notice we outpicked them well, they did not anticipate warwick and irelia (the single target suppression combo) being last picked simultaneously, at that point the only thing they could pick was their ap mid and there is no ap mid that can hold off both warwick and irelia

The closest support Shen could be to carrying a team?

u mad cus i start crystal 1 time on annie

mostly do it cus pots and i usually gets boots or dorans idk why saph dat game

although i kind of agree with the rod part i didnt rly see a problem with the void staff with my runez i was doing tr00 damage all game. i guess with rod it wouldve been a diff thing

at this point i kind of wish i submitted a better/different video, but i rarely solo q and i felt thats a better indication of skill level. also he wanted losing videos only

and dat fed akali

I wouldn't take advice from someone who thinks Urgot built a Tear of the Goddess for an Archangel's Staff... although they are right that you need to buy some wards, and you have the worst timing on dragon ever.

Ignore the crap they say about RoA, rushing Deathcap is better. The only time you need to go RoA first is if you are losing and desperately need the durability.

RoA or Deathcap are juts tow different ways of oging. RoA is an EXTREMELY efficient item for the gold you spend on it, it becomes worth your money with almost no stacks, and becomes just it's own level of efficiency. Rabadon's is good for mass AP, but if you want a lot of hp, mana, and AP, RoA is a good first buy as well

Yes Masterful thank you for pointing out that RoA and Deathcaps have different stats.

I am Annie. I am the nuke. I rush Deathcap to nuke harder. It's what I do.

Quick rune question

I currently have 2 armour pen and 7 flat damage reds (for Akali). Should I be aiming to get flat damage or armour pen quintessences now?

and is it worth getting AS red if I occasionally jungle Lee sin / Udyr?

if you want akali runes, get flat ap quints and enough flat ap glyphs to get both passives at level 1 with 21-0-9 masteries

sorry, I totally goofed up the question. I have all the runes for Akali, I want to know which runes I should be getting for standard AD characters

I wouldn't use AS Reds on Lee Sin and only situationally on Udyr... I'm not huge on using AS to jungle in general just because you're mortgaging some of your power later in the game and in most cases at least slightly the power of your ganks for shaving seconds off your jungle cleartimes, since the other stats you could get in AS Red/Blue slots (ArPen and Scaling MR typically) are a lot more useful overall. While it was ever so slightly nerfed last patch if you were going to get Lee Sin specific runes it's a lot more effective just to get flat AD to exploit his ridiculous AD scaling, which gets over some similar issues to what I complained about with the AS choices by making your early game ganks better by enough that it helps you snowball early and make up some gold. I am partial to the set-up in Cruizerthebruiser's guides on solomid which is 2 AD/7Armor Pen Reds, 9 Armor yellows, 9 Flat MR(I actually use 3 flat 6 scaling but I digress) blues and 3 flat AD quints.

Udyr is the only jungle case where AS Reds are potentially worth it, but even then only if you're going to jungle with Phoenix rather than Tiger(most jungle Udyrs seem to be going Phoenix and laners Tigers these day) since the former scales more with AS and the latter with Armor Pen. Armor Pen quints still the way to go on Jungle Udyr also I wanted to look something up to check my facts as I was writing this and found (http://www.mobafire.com/league-of-l...depth-look-to-udyr-updated-sept-28-2011-56684) for super Theorymon-length-analysis of Udyr. I usually play Udyr with ArP just in case I see something in the other teams laning choices or starting items I'm not expecting and it makes sense to play Tiger instead of Phoenix even though I'd much prefer to be in Phoenix stance; you lose a lot more playing Tiger with AS than Phoenix with ArP. AS is optimal if you get serious about Udyr but it's really shitty value for your IP since it's basically specific to one type of set-up on one character. Udyr is kind of annoying vs. other Junglers in that you really want Dodge Yellows instead of Armor too, though many laning Bruisers get use out of those, too.

If you don't have a ton of IP to throw around it's probably worth noting that the only cases where I would use any attack speed at all to Jungle are characters where you're both A) getting pretty specific utility out of the extra attack speed (Gangplank and Warwick passive, mainly) and B) can easily fit MR in your build later in the game because everyone else needs the ArP Red and has to get them in the Blue slot wasting even more money, which are depressingly shitty since they're red primary, because getting much Armor Pen from items is pretty much a nightmare until you can afford to get Last Whisper and most team comps in normals(and in general, really) need the Jungler to go tanky first(and not having the flat ArP slows the clear down as much more than the AS speeds it up anyway).

Sort of a lot of rambling about the Junglers there but my group of friends' Jungler has been really busy lately so I've kinda started learning the role seriously myself lately(also because I've played too many meaningless support games in too little time and I'm having crazy ADD whenever I play in "my" role now) so lot of thoughts atm. Probably worth noting Lee Sin is basically always banned in both ranked and unranked Draft so I'm skeptical on relying on him too much... I'm not even practicing with him anymore because he's never there when I need him.

AD carries are usually simpler, but it's not a role I'm good at so hopefully other people will comment a bit more that I do here... you're more or less locked into Armor Pen Reds and Armor Pen or AD Quints with some flexibility in yellows/blues as far as Armor/MR or more Armor Pen or CDR or mana regen or whatever goes. I think my page is 9 Armor Pen Reds/5 Armor Yellows/4 Flat Mana Regen Yellows because I spam my early game abilities like I spam dots on Onyxia/3 Flat MR Blues/6 Scaling MR Blues/1 Armor Pen Quint/2 Flat AD Quints. It's pretty standard but modified slightly to try desperately to be stronger the first few levels and get some cheap early kills, because if I don't the fact I'm probably playing with a support who doesn't know how to support and am definitely playing as an AD who doesn't know how to AD will snowball against me quickly.

EDIT: Also as far as Rune choices it's probably worth noting with AS reds and blues both being kinda situational if you want a decent amount of rune pages ready to go all the time the mileage with those is pretty poor... I have all 10 and I usually still don't have an AS Udyr page active (my 10 are Support Alistar/Support GP/General Support page I should probably update/Tiger Udyr page(which also works for dodge bruisers)/Trundle page (which also works for armor bruisers)/Fiddle page(which also works for AP Carries)/Jungle GP and Warwick/Lee Sin/AD Carry/Ryze)

Well, I was planning to try using scaling mana regen blues and scaling HP yellows on AD carries since right now I have flat CDR blues and those aren't really doing much for me.

yeah to be HONEST i probably bought saph crystal for an early catalyst or tear -> rod/aa, but i almost never even build rod. its kind of weird how they say in the video that annie is a glass cannon, but then say build rod and its a pseudo item (for tanky ap). not saying rod is bad, but eh. i always rush rabadans, but not sure what to do after that. that game in general was abysmal, as i watched the video i realized there were only 2 teamfights i actually missed, and the rest were dumb initiations that i couldnt have helped at all in. that dragon was definitely poorly timed, and i dont usually ignore dragon. but its kinda hard to get dragon when bot is not winning that great. and no jungler

for ranged ad champions, flat ad quints are generally better than arpen because they're stronger early on and help with getting a higher % of last hits.

not a fan of hp/lvl seals... i'd rather have armor to trade hits with other ranged ads better (but i usually use mana regen/lvl seals and magic resist/lvl glyphs instead).

RoA is a FINE item on Annie and is arguably better in competitive play because you're going to need that durability, and you're going to need that sustainability. Point for point, it's one of the most cost effective items in the game.

Deathcap is much better for stomping solo queue where you want the game to end ASAP but Catalyst into Rod is obviously very strong on many AP carries out there, Annie included.

Someone agreeing with me. A rare sight indeed.

Just a story, I played Cho for the first time (first real time, because I don't count my first 4 levels because I was hopelessly retarded during them), and learned 3 things:
1)I suck dick at Cho
2)Feast is pure epicnes in a move
3)When your team comp is Chogath, Amumu, Jarvan, Rammus, and Caitlin, some people don't get that you should attack the Cait.

OK, Jarvan is fun as heck how should I build him?

Wriggles/merc/triforce/sunfire/FoN/Aegis is what I did

or go something more standard

Wriggles/merc/triforce/atmas/warmogs/FoN ?
