League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

We'll see in about 40 hours in Kiev, but from what I've seen on streams of high elo solo queue and scrimms I really don't think [calling Sivir the best AD carry is bold]. Phreak made a really hilarious post about it where he's all talking shit about how he's PRETTY SURE he knows better than the 2k+ non tournament players because of his amazing tournament history or some shit(I guess he's just assuming no one was watched the disaster that is him playing on stream in the past few months) when making a similar argument about nerfing Graves and Vayne over Sivir, but at the very least in high ELO solo queue Sivir was already the best option and the utility with her Ult doesn't exactly strike me as something that's going to be worse in a more competitive setting so there was a decent bit of uproar about nerfing them and not Sivir. It'll be interesting to watch botlane in Kiev since it's post-Sivir buff but pre-Vayne and Graves nerf...

Yeah, about that...

Jebus, I thought about it, but in a game with an actual support, they would've had Shurelya's, which is the only reason it isn't there (it also isn't blue, you heathen). I suppose I could've built an Aegis mid-game as well...idk. I don't see her around in many matches, sadly. I feel like people just aren't impressed.

Yeah, Graves #1 now and forever (at least until they nerf his Q damage) >_> I would personally say Sivir is second best after the nerfs, though.

kiev spoilers: sivir went like 10-0 against vayne prior to a death when clearing the enemy nexus against vayne on a patch prior to vayne nerfs in the only meaningful group a game, graves hasnt even been picked in a match where the teams were reasonably competitive yet

Graves picked in: every game. Sivir picked in: one game. I guess if you are saying that most of the teams are garbage and thus pick graves then your statement would be justifiable but ?_?

I honestly think there has been some sort of miscommunication here because Sivir was only picked in SK vs White Lotus, and White Lotus is very clearly the punching bag of Group A so it would be completely incorrect to call that match the "only meaningful group A game".

Ohhh, I just refreshed my page and realized TSM picked Sivir in their match against SK. I missed that game so that would explain why I was so confused >_>

Graves didnt get hit as hard as Vayne did. The early damage loss is definately noticeable tho. I dont get Riots logic. Nerf a champs early game when its already weak when she has a perfect late game. They shouldve kept her early game the same and actually done something about her W (no matter what people say, scaling true dmg will always be op). But ya, Vayne isnt able to chase down targets as well as she could anymore. Real annoyimg when enemies get away with 1 hit left and im forced to stop.

Anyways, id say the top ADs atm are Sivir and Tristana. Id say expect sivir nerfs soon after more ppl QQ about it on the forums. I really dont like how people rage if i pick Ashe r Ezrael though, just cause "omg get Graves they suck." it depends on the skill of the player you whores, and im sure u dont mind when i carry u with my godlike 17/1/12 ez score. Fuck this community.

Anyways ive been gone for a while so ill just say.

Akali nerfs fuck u QQers.

Ahri real awesome <3

Russian failbot sucks.

Olaf on a pig sucks.

I think people overestimate Vayne's true damage... 8% Max health after 3 hits. Mid to late game... its like 6 hits to kill a squish and so AT BEST you proc it twice for 16% of their max health.

Or maybe I'm not understanding something here..

I am currently watching the IEM Kiev streams.

SK just destroyed White Lotus (two aces, 15k gold lead, and something like 26-4).
Does anyone have the link to SK vs. TSM? I'm cheering TSM on this tournament.

It has +60 true damage also at lvl 5. But if that was the case, than how come people don't think that Corki's passive is op? Does 10% of his total attack damage as true damage. The problem is, Vayne's kit can abuse it so much easier. She moves super fast, has a stun(if you can land it)/knockback, an empowered attack every 2 seconds (which is also a good move to dodge abilities), and an ultimate that grants attack damage equivalent to a BF sword, while granting her invisibility while tumbling and even more speed to assure that no one ever gets away.

The difference between Vayne and other carry's like Cait or Corki is that her kit remains relevant throughout the entire game. Tell me honestly how much you can abuse Cait's Q or ultimate in a team fight? Every top guide on her says DON'T USE Q LATE GAME unless farming, because you're better off auto attacking. And her ultimate is useless unless you're just gonna try and pick someone off or try and hit a squishy before a fight starts (and a tank will probably just block it anyway). Corki's W remains awesome the entire game, but his other abilities become terrible maybe besides his R, which is useful for poking.

While Vayne...Tumble's for more damage, stuns enemies to become easy targets, gets 55 free damage, massive movement speed, and 1 sec invisibility to juke and outplay enemies.

Hardly seems fair that her scaling is so incredible compared to other picks. That's why people are so quick to pick her.

doublelift has popularized the R>Q>W>E build though

people maxed E first during like dreamhack because you typically played against carries without very good positioning so it was easy to get E off

with cleanse being very strong and every carry and her mother having a blink/gap closer nowadays, condemn first isn't as strong

tumble first gives vayne a very powerful mid-game, especially at that sweet spot where you have BT/Zeal and later BT/PD and you can literally 1v4 teams based on positioning alone

tumble may not be as much damage late-game as simple AAing but the positioning aspect of it is humungous.

I still max condemn first actually, because I like to aim for the support first (especially if it's Soraka...that whore) because even if they still cleanse out of the stun you still deal full damage, and the reduced CD is nice and you'll still get those peeps that don't run cleanse.

But yes, I'm glad you agree Vayne's kit (particularly tumble) is extremely effective.

Although I always go Black Cleaver unless I'm roflstomping the enemy. I don't like getting BT instead of IE because a death takes away a lot of your damage.

Speaking of stomping, that's really the only way Vayne is gonna be effective in a game. They nerfed her early game, and didn't touch her late game. If a game drags on for 35+ minutes, cool, Vayne can go into hypercarry mode like Kog'Maw (given the right conditions). But maybe 2 or 3 of my games out of 10 go passed 30 mins, because one side is clearly stomping the other and it's better to just save your time by surrendering and starting another game.

just don't die then

So, I must admit my secret crush on Vladimir. I've always meant to get him, even before his buff, but I used him during a free week while I was still noticeably bad. Now that I've gotten a bit better at the game, and he's gotten better through buffs, I think I'll pick him up. I figure the usual MagPen reds and hp/18 yellows are good on him, but as for AP glyphs and/or quints, does he benefit more from flat or scaling? I know his first 9 levels are supposed to be difficult, but scaling APs catch up to flat relatively quickly. Any input?

Also, I wish I could watch IEM Kiev, so bummed.

Dat Jungle Cho'Gath is OP. When you gank all you need to do is land ONE Rupture and they're dead. He actually jungles pretty fast and doesn't need that many runes. I jungled him level 20 with 3 armor seals and it was pretty easy. Oh yeah. Regrowth Pendant start. Wraiths, Wolves, Blue, Wraiths, Golems, Red, Wolves? Gank.

Sejuani is okay on Dominion. She's a good pusher and is tanky so she's a good bot. The cooldown on her R is a little long for Dominion so while you can win a 3v1 on turret because of R it sucks that they can respawn and run at you again before it comes off of CD. Her Q->E is great for making people take a lot of turret damage though.

PRO RAMBLING ill hide tag it since some of the matches from Group B were actually interesting so people might actually want to watch without having it spoiled

I was dissapointed by Moscow Five living up to their hype since they've seemed super immature but they played some great games; no team but aaa was even close to beating them. I would be surprised if they didn't win this event... TSM had a pretty good day 1 but they're not in their best form and I don't know if they'll put up as good of a fight if they end up having to play Sunday as they will if they meet up in the IEM finals.

There weren't a whole lot of surprising picks that worked or upsets (only aaa vs dig and aaa vs m5 were even close) but I thought M5's Shyvana was noteworthy -- was pretty dominant in the game she appeared and got banned by aaa, the team in the group that would have had the most experience with m5. (I guess **AD KENNEN** was noteworthy too but I can't imagine that happening in a match against an opponent that could actually beat them)

Also Dignitas raped aaa with Sivir I'm just saying. Though not even Sivir could rescue Sypher from being White Lotus tier. Funny that they're still 6th overall because of their work a few months ago, they're probably going to be a gift to whatever opponents they get in Hanover.

As an aside, since San Paulo doesn't have LoL, the 12 competitors for said IEM finals in March will consist of these teams(lowest number is the minimum points team can achieve):

Current Rank. Team Name (Points)
1 CLG (180)
2 SK (150) (170 if 3rd) (190 if 2nd) (215 if 1st)
3 fnatic (135)
4 TSM (100) (120 if 3rd) (140 if 2nd) (190 if 1st)
5 WorldElite (90)
6. Sypher (55)
7. Millenium (40)
7. Dignitas (40) (60 if 3rd) (80 if 2nd) (130 if 1st)
9. Curse (30)
10. Moscow Five (25) (45 if 3rd) (65 if 2nd) (90 if 1st)
10. Ehome (25)
12. Alternate (15)
12. invictusGaming (15)
12. aaa (15)

Not sure exactly how the format for the finals works to derive groups from the above data but yeah, rough standings ignoring the fact TSM and SK could jump to 1 and Dignitas and Moscow Five could jump to 4th and 5th, respectively. Also not sure how Alternate/iG/aaa tie gets broken. TSM and SK both need at least 2nd place to gain ground and could tie for 1st overall if TSM gets 1st and SK gets 2nd. Even just getting 3rd jumps M5 to 7th with only one appearance(8th if Dignitas beats TSM in the same scenario) and 1st gets them in a tie with WE for 5th. Dignitas gets 4th if they win it all(since TSM can't also get 2nd), but only jumps one spot with 2nd or 3rd.

Kind of bizarre that EG managed not to actually attend a single IEM event, fuckin slackers...

ugh is there anywhere i can watch these replays besides the link on leagueoflegends.com? i ask because my connection can't even handle these (or any) youtube videos, i have literally lost it 7 times in less than 14 minutes trying to watch the first video

it wouldn't be too big of a deal if it started buffering again a minute later when the connection comes back but this is almost unwatchable for me right now @_@

edit, also what time do the next games tomorrow come on? for some reason i never have any problems watching streams, just youtube

6:10 am pacific/9:10 am EST/6:10 pm local for the first semifinal tomorrow, second is three hours after that

the game including tsm is first

Wow. Just queue dodged. I pick my champ and say, "I can solo top instead if someone else wants to jungle."

A guy picks shaco and says, "I'm going bot but I'm gonna take the first blue."

To which I reply, "Um, no thanks. If you want to jungle that is fine, but I can't jungle without the first blue."

"**** off. Try stopping me from taking it. I do it every game."

So I dodged. WTF. How has this guy not realized how stupid he is?

<RODAN> so
