I need pokemon that synergize/work well with Terakkion. I'm guessing he'd be great on a sand team. Wanted to hear your opinions. In the process of building a second team. Thanks for the help, guys.

If you need a team mate for Terrakion, then you'd want something that resists it's weaknesses. Something like Latios or Latias could work just fine, as both act as good checks to Sun and Rain which are seen as bad matchups for Sand. Latios provides you with a similar offensive presence that Terrakion brings but Latias provides you with longevity and a much better check against the other weathers. This is bearing in mind you need an offensive team mate for Terrakion, but anything that can take on some of it's checks (Latios, Scizor, Landorus) will do just fine.

Opinions needed here!
For Zoroark, Hidden Power Fighting or Focus Blast? Btw, this is N's Zoroark Im talking about, so its hidden power is guaranteed fighting 70.
Focus Blast's lack off accuracy pisses me off but so does HP's lack of power.
Hmm....

@Tabuu

IIRC, name changes made the forums lag too much. Admins can still grant them, but I wouldn't count on them doing it.

@Psyshock

I would go with Focus Blast, just because the power is very helpful. The accuracy is a deterrent, but I would still use it over HP Fighting any day. There is a reason why Pokemon like Alakazam/Reuniclus use Focus Blast instead of HP Fighting.

pretty sure GS broke the forums when he changed furai's name to furry123<3. aldaron told me that when you change someone's name, the forum goes and finds every single one of their posts and updates it accordingly, which is a hardcore operation and would probably cause some serious shits to be had. not a good idea. that's the main reason name changes are disabled.

also, because when name changes are on, you get terrible changes like lonelyness->cheesiepoofs and pk gaming->strawhatluffy and gen empoleon->matthew which we should avoid AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE (yes, i have been around long enough that i've seen these with my own eyes)

Thanks guys for your responses.
My curious little mind has yet another question lol:
I'm interested in becoming more involved in smogon as I think it's pretty neat.
And so, you know, I gotta earn those cool little badges. What dose it take for me to get noticed and stuff?

Badge FAQ. The thing is, you should never be trying explicitly to earn a badge. Just find an area of the site that interests you like C&C or Wi-Fi and contribute as much as you can. If you are deserving of a badge you will get one, but that should be a reward as a result of being a good user, not the actual goal

What does an offensive Scizor do with 229 speed? Which important threats it can outspeed that way?

I am not particularly good at anything, thanks for ruining my dreams Zacchaeus :'(.

But yeah you have to have something to sell for yourself, try to find something that sets you apart. Even if you like to talk you can usually snatch up a per-contributor badge in CAP. Unfortunately I got nothing.

http://www.smogon.com/bw/articles/ouspeed_tiers (not yet updated for bw2 so perhaps it's missing some things)

really it doesn't look like it outruns anything special with the 252 speed adamant spread, the nearest thing is uninvested xatu which is 3 speed points below you. afaik adamant 252 speed scizor is largely "i wanna be fast, but not so fast that i stop being adamant", rather than intending to outrun any particular thing

Normally you're not supposed to ask "badge?" But generally being a good guy who's helpful is the key. Just look at the badge FAQ and pick a segment of the site that interests you. I started in C&C due to my love of writing.

What exactly does the term "deviation" mean when laddering in Pokemon Showdown? I can't believe I've never found this out in my 5 months of using PO.

Don't feel bad, deviation is a PS unique thing. Deviation is the +- number next to your Glicko2. Deviation will go down by playing more matches, and right now the standard is 55 for suspect.

For Example:
1zv98x4.jpg

In this case Windsong's deviation would be 53

Thanks... but leading off of that how do you get to such high rankings without raising your deviation above 55?

You start off with a high deviation, the more battles which you play the lower your deviation gets. So getting to a high ranking on an account and then maintaining that through battles will lower your deviation to the acceptable number.

Oh ok thanks for clearing that up. While were on the topic, may I ask how long does it normally take to get to higher rankings like 1900s when winning most of your matches?

I'm at a solid 1700, and when I win I only go up +6 at a time. Why is it so low and at times my opponents get more points then I do when they lose to me? Is there a way to increase the points you get for winning each battle?

I realize that Kyurem-B is more than likely going to be OU after the suspect voting is done. I have also heard that instead of testing other Ubers, the next tests are going to be OU pokemon to see if they are broken or not. SO my question is, who is going to be the first pokemon (more than likely) tested in OU to see if it is broken or not?

Based on the discussion in the Suspect threads, and my personal opinion, I see Genesect / Tornadus-T / Deoxys-D as the first major suspects. Noone can say for sure, because the council hasn't explicitly told us, but these three seem to be the most likely.

Thank you! Yea I've seen discussions about all of these pokemon being broken. I just wasn't sure if they were going to test Politoed and Ninetales (I'm surprised by the amount of people wanting Sun tested) first or not. If they test those three SOB's first then I'm sure Politoed should be safe to stay.
