said this before but as long as riot balances competitive play the same as casual play, league of legends will never truly be competitive, not on the same level as starcraft or dota
as for tips for riot so they dont balance like special ed kids
CHANGE MURAMANA BACK TO MAGIC HOLY SHIT HOW DOES THIS NOT MAKE SENSE
REDUCE SHOCK BLAST DAMAGE GODDAMN, EVERY POKE COMP IS BUILT AROUND JAYCE
JUST BECAUSE NOBODY PLAYS SEJUANI DOESN'T MEAN SHE'S NOT OP
INCREASE ELDER LIZARD'S PRICE IT IS TOO GODDAMN CHEAP
STOP PRETENDING THERE'S A CHOICE ELEMENT IN EVOLVING KHA'ZIX' ABILITIES AND JUST BALANCE HIM PROPERLY
DIANA IS STILL STUPID
THRESH DOES TOO MUCH, NO ONE WILL CRY IF YOU GO BACK ON YOUR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY AND REMOVE DEATH SENTENCE
I've also noted that League has kept my attention for far longer than Starcraft ever has. Looking for an hour at DOTA 2 champions and mechanics on the wiki makes me appreciate how different the design of that game is...and why I'm grateful for League's casual-oriented design philosophy.
To be entirely honest, League is still doing a great job so far.
1. Because it made no sense to buy on the champs it was actually designed to help and was a noob trap on most of the ones that it wasn't designed for. (coughsyndracoughgrailcough)
2. Agreed that Jayce really needs his poke toned down.
3. They knew this for a loooong time. The relaunch was meant to make Sejuani's power more obvious by shifting power around in her kit into stuff that the Sej player could actually feel.
4. I don't play SR. I'm still having way too much fun theorycrafting this item to ask for nerfs.
5. As a guy who plays Kha'Zix occasionally,
they ARE ****ing balancing him properly. They're moving power around his kit to get rid of things that made Kha a bit too powerful, increase the need for skilled play (hint--evolving W first isn't as worthwhile now, so Kha has to actually land a skillshot if he wants to slow someone at a range--but thanks to the slow no longer NEEDING the evolution or consuming his passive, he gets even better stickiness to a target if he lands it), and generally giving him more things to do.
6. Haven't played her after changes yet. Will get around to this eventually.
7. I will fucking rip your fucking skull out. Thresh was an instabuy for me just BECAUSE of how many awesome plays he could make, combined with having a badass design and such. Somewhat like Lulu, except her design was hilarious instead of badass.
That's not going back on the design philosophy, that's Riot spontaneously deciding to be a dick to Thresh players.
Not happening.
It's possibly their biggest strength/flaw but they just will not divert from their design philosophies, regardless of whether it's aesthetic, balance or telling someone BKB is a toxic anti-fun no counterplay item.
To be fair, BKB isn't toxic (actively consumes gameplay nuance to sustain itself) in its home environment--as a DOTA/2 item it's balanced as part of the powerful mitigation effects and raw item power that the game is designed around. It WOULD be toxic in League, however, due to the sheer number of champions who rely on magic damage and CC to do ANYTHING (including Morgana, ironically a walking BKB herself) that would feel like shit to play if an item that gave magic immunity and total CC immunity for most of a teamfight were introduced.
Mercurial Scimitar is the LoL attempt to make an item with BKB's niche that better fits the design of League.
