I... thought we were already having a big discussion about that...
Anyhow, I'd guess that were that the case, when you went to the entrance, you'd be given a list. You click on it, it says "It looks like there are multiple secret bases here!" or something like that, then say "Which secret base to go in?", and then shows you a list of the names who have registered secret bases there.

I guess there would be a message during transfer, going along the lines of: "A Secret Base already exists in one or more of the chosen locations. Overwrite?"
I can't imagine we'll get to see multiple Secret Bases in the same locations. I can buy that the bushes of Hoenn are big enough to make a hut in, but two? Not going to happen.

That's depressing, the limitation of only being able to have one mega per team means we wont see too much change in the meta, moving into the new generation outside of these? Maybe new battle items but I suppose I can wait a few more years :P
that's why I would like new mons lol
I think you can't totally claim this yet. To date no Mega's ever been given a worse ability (except maybe Houndoom but please no one reply about Lighting Rod) But it's been the case that 100 more base stat and a no-worse to crazy-better ability upgrade has made every single mega at least moderately competitive and OU viable. (even some of the most competitively garbage Pokemon ever like Banette)

It's not risky at all to assume that all or all but one of the new Megas will be usable in OU and that half or more of them will mark the entrance of totally unique and powerful forces. Just because they can't be used with other Megas doesn't mean that they won't have fairly big impacts on the metagame. Just from what we've already got, Swampert will increase the popularity of rain teams, Sceptile will revenge kill while screwing over Rotom-W and Dragons (presumably being the fastest dragon after just a tiny boost to base speed), Metagorss is gonna be yet another ridiculous powerhouse and will put a lot of Fairies in their place, and Sableye... Sabelye will end every stall war ever with Magic Bounce + Taunt and probably will make a reasonable Physical Wall with Fighting immunity, Recover, WoW, and it's beefed up def stat... that's only 4 new things so far and we're getting "The Mega Scoop" from Corocoro in less than a month.

Even though Megas aren't new Pokemon, they more or less are from a competitive stand point... the 4 attributes that affect a Pokemon's battle utility are Stats, Typing, Ability, and Moves. Outside of those 4 things all Pokemon are equal. And Megas have the potential to change up 3 of the 4 from their base form. So in terms of the meta every single mega we get is a "new Pokemon" that presents a new threat that existing things have to deal with or a new check to some already existing threats. Factor in new tutor moves and the metagame will shift more between XY and ORAS than it ever has in any mid gen transition.

Lightningrod is a better ability than Overgrow and Unburden for a Mega (unburden's useless lel). It's just something more effective and less... niche would have been nice imo. Oh well.
Sceptile has been my favorite starter since Sapphire came out. I wish is would have gotten something better too... but I'm not really 'disappointed' with what it got either.

Yes, this is what I'm hoping they do, as well. I at LEAST hope it will warn you when scanning a QR code or mixing records that it will warn you that someone's base is being overwritten. Mixing records was a LOT more difficult than adding anybody to your 3DS' friends list or scanning a QR code, since you had to be in person for it to take place. Now with the internet integrated with these games, I'm going to bet that they will have to do something about it due to the sheer convenience of being able to "mix records" with the internet.

All (*cough* 3 of *cough*) my friends kept stealing my beloved bush to the east of Fortree city, when I was 11. ):

Yeah, yeah... at least it has SOME use.

Well if you're running a Sandstorm team anyway, what amounts to effectively a double Life Orb boost for Rock, Ground, and Steel moves will still be very helpful...but everywhere else it's better off not going Mega.

It should be interesting to have the old TV interviews (like Gabby & Ty) pop up with the current run of programs on the TVs in game. At the very least, it'll feel more life-like than before where once a special program was over there was nothing whatsoever on. What also should be interesting is how they handle the Rock Smash roadblocks, making sure you can't get past those points until after earning the Dynamo Badge now that Rock Smash is back to being a TM.

Another thing that would support the expectation of exp gain in secret bases is that you did gain exp in secret bases in the original RSE...

so actually I don't totally know what to expect.

tbh I don't think either of these would happen. Creating a team of identical Lv100 Blissey would be an incredible amount of grinding, and I believe that having an infinite well of Exp. or EVs to share with other people would be a decent trade-off for all the grinding you'd have to do. That's probably just me though

...Yes, this is why I mentioned the Trainer House. You could do a team of 6 lv100 Blissey there and would gain a shitton of EXP. They didn't care about all your hard work for that in HGSS, they simply disabled EXP and started giving BPs instead.

Ah, I wasn't very familiar with the trainer house. Well then, I go back form my unsure stance to my original stance that there will not be exp gain in secret bases.

Well, Blissey only needs 800,000 Exp to hit Level 100. Combined with O-Power Lv 3, being an Outsider, Lucky Egg, and being Affection Lv 2 or higher (which takes what, five minutes tops?) will make it really easy. To fully state how fast that is, that's a total multiplier of x5.4 (or just under 150,000 Experience Points). Then all you have to do is clone it five times and boom. I actually have a spare Level 100 Blissey that isn't EV trained (well, it has max HP just for fun), so I'm virtually done.

That's what I was thinking.

Sand Force is a 33% boost, which is only slightly more than a Life Orb.

Hey guys, what do you think about "Pikachu likes to Cosplay!"
Im pretty excited for the pokemon contests(If theres gonna be any)
I remember just losing over and over and not understanding anything at ALL in the contests as a kid. I really want it to cme back though, to see what its really about LOL

I really hope the Battle Frontier comes back, but I'm not so confident. I mean, I didn't follow Platinum's release so I don't know how early they announced it for that game, specially considering its post-game only, but I still have this feeling that we should have already heard of it. Also, it seems that the Contest Halls will be present instead of the Battle Tents.
I hope the battle frontier,if they come back, get redesigns since the gym leaders and elite four got them.
They most probably would. Most of their original designs were quite cool, like Factory Head Noland and Pike Queen Lucy, but...
