Campbell isn't that great...yet.

My favorite story this season is the Detroit Lions...particularly Jon Kitna. I remember on ESPN's official "fantasy draft day" special, this one guy took Jon Kitna as his first QB (and quite a few rounds into the draft mind you) and EVERYONE else was ridiculing him for it. Now Kitna is leading the entire NFL in passing yardage.

Glad to see some appreciation for my Lions, hoping they can keep this up, beat the Redskins and clinch a WC spot.

Also, Dallas plays GB eventually this season so we'll see who comes out on top.

and Campbell needs to stop overthrowing wide open downfield receivers so much.

Actually, those are sort of rare, compared to how much he hits them downfield in quite difficult coverage (though Moss finds the ball better than almost every reciever in football)

Again, 10 starts so far. If he's still doing this at this point next year, I'd be worried.

Anyone who didn't see the Lions coming has their head very far up their ass. I've been calling their comeback since before LAST season.

As an aside, I'd rather have a passing game and no running game than have a running game with no passing game. The passing game can simulate the running game to extent, like a West Coast offense, running frequent screens and passes to the flats. The passing game can catch you up playing from behind and plays can be designed for big gains. If you're purely worried about running the clock out, even a poor running game (as long as the runner doesn't fumble) can pound it up the middle for minimal yardage and drain time. Vice-versa, you can't expect a run to break deep and a bad running play doesn't stop the clock like a bad (incomplete) passing play. Despite their league-worst rushing, the Packers are currently more than well off with their passing game and their strong defense.

Take note that the Eagles were without their starting LT and Westbrook. Osi put that guy to shame so badly I can't even blame the backup for sucking, he needed help from a TE/backfield chipper and Reid didn't give him any all night. As usual, too few running plays too. I'm surprised the Giants didn't put McNabb back on IR, that offense was atrocious.

I disagree with you in that I would rather have a good running game over a good passing game. I'm not saying your wrong this is merely my oppion. I think having a good running game helps out the passing game more than the passing game helps out the running game. If you have a good running game Linebackers are more likely to bite on the play action pass which i believe is more of a threat than a draw play. Also running game you control the clock which is important. Running game wears down defenses a lot more than passing games do. Just think of how good Phillip rivers did last year. Not because they are good passing but because defenses would bring 8 men in the box to stop LT.

Also even though many people including my self thought that Andy Reid didn't help that LT all night, that is wrong. Most of the night the eagles where running a 3 on 2. Where the Center, Guard and Tackle would block the End and the Tackle. A few of osi's sacks came off of being able to take advantage of his tackle getting doubled. As well a few came off of being much faster than the guard being able to blow by the guard and just take the tackle head on. Also when they would double osi the tackle would make the sack. Also More often than not teams double team Strahan. Although old he still gets a lot of respect as a defensive end. And if you are double teaming strahan and running a 3 on two on the other side. It doesn't leave you with many other blockers.

Gosh darn, Mike Martz. If the Redskins know you like to throw the digs, DON'T DO IT. At least the Lions were able to run somewhat effectively with Kevin Jones because the Redskins dropped 7 guys. I must hand it to that secondary though, they shut down the Lions. Lions have a bye week now so we'll figure out what's wrong.

Fred Smoot hits HARDDDDDDDDDD btw.

Holy, HOLY crap.

that was amazing. I was seriously scared in my seat; i was about to crap in my pants. A 25-24 win after being down the whole game... that's what I call a comeback.

Cowboys: 5-0.

Yeah, i don't like football that much, but my brother is a cowboys fan and i couldn't help to get excited about the end of the game. He did the kick TWICE btw.

And Romo's butterfingers...

Anyone still want to tell me JP was the problem? The problem...the biggest one, at least, sits in the coordinator booth and calls boneheaded plays. Ugh...I feel sick. So much wrong, and zero hope...

Dallas shouldn't take anything from this game; Buffalo is just a bad team (worst in the NFL imo) that got lucky. I think only 2 of those picks were actually Romo's fault. (one was a tip, 2 were blown assignments)

I would be worried that Barber/Jones couldn't really do much against a truly bad defense, but a lot of that was sheer emotion.

The main problem was that the defensive gameplan in the last 6 mins was simply horrendous; they were playing prevent defense when Dallas was not even looking deep; they were looking to make short completions and get out of bounds - this was going on even on that last drive, when it was CLEAR that Dallas wanted a 10-15 yd completion and an out of bounds...and there was not a defender within 10 yards of Crayton.

Personally, Dick Jauron, like Norv Turner, shouldn't have an NFL head coaching job...and I think he's a pretty mediocre coordinator (unlike Norv Turner). Also, Steve Fairchild was nothing more than a scrub riding Martz's coattails; he shouldn't have a coordinator job (that reverse on a 3rd and 2 was beyond idiotic),

btw, thanks Buffalo for taking the overrated Dockery and the underachieving Royal off our hands, while giving us an elite defensive coordinator, one of the 5 best in football ^_^

My Pats are dominating this year, and thats cause we've gone out and bolstered our weakest position from last year in our Wide Receivers and Tom Brady hitting some career best form, throwing 3 TD passes last match.

I don't get to watch much NFL given I live in Australia but I'm suprised at the strength of Dallas' beginning to the season, although a game against my Pats next week will show us whether they're the real deal.

:( maybe you could watch some Jim Kelly highlight reels to cheer up?

from TMQ, this made me laugh out loud
News item: The NFL imposed a six-game suspension on quarterback Tim Couch for using performance-enhancing drugs. Couch is considered suspended by the NFL though he is not on any roster and has not appeared in an NFL game since 2003.

also from espn (I feel like a whore for getting most of my sports news from them, but whatever), a good Oklahoma car dealership using a parody of Gundy for an advertisement

Omfg, that game was just down to the wire.

I was just shocked at the Bills faking that punt and getting that first down. I couldn't believe Romo turned the ball over 6 times. The Bills' head coach (Forgot the name) tried to pull a Mike Shanahan with that last timeout call but luckily for the Cowboys, it didn't work as Nick Folk just retained his composure and drilled another field goal.

When your QB turns the ball over 6 times and you let him keep playing and you win, that says 2 things to me. 1. This team will follow Romo to the end no matter what and 2. This Dallas team just played amazing despite playing on the road on Monday Night in that Bills crowd.

So, I found it kind of odd that Tony Romo is Hispanic. I mean, I know that Hispanics can be white, but still...if you were a Mexican flipping through channels and saw a Tony Romo commercial followed by 'nfl latino!11,' that would not seem very effective to me lol

yeah I went to school that night.. but I taped that son of a bitch! However, me knowing this of course but forgetting to let my grandmother know, it never tapes the rest of the game. So after watching down to the last 5 mintues in the 4th quarter or so I had to flip to ESPN and jesus.. but just watching it I was never in a more nervous mood. It was a shocker though that the Cowboys broke through because they didnt deserve to win that game. A W is a W though :D

cant wait until this Sunday... its going to be hyped and epic!

DM my question is, did you make/bring the sign? I recorded the game but will only watch again if that is a yes.

Poor Buffalo could be like 3-2 right now, but last second losses are a big downer, I think that will be a trend for them this year.

Also good job on suspending Tim Couch NFL, whats next suspending Timmy Smith for cocaine?

Lets play with wishful thinking for a second...

What team would Ricky Williams be most fun on...

Bengals? =D

Or...Packers...? Bears...? Really wishful thinking Texans??
