Plus, isn't Squirtle one of the 3 Pokemon you can use in the new Smash Brothers game? That has to qualify him as a battler... despite the fact that when I played as the Pokemon trainer in that game every time I used Squirtle I went shell-rolling off of the edge of the map. KO'd myself more than anyone else lol.
