Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKIII *Official Media Only*

There's no written rule, but with Starters there's almost always a mixed attacker. Inceneroar looks like a powerful physical attacker, while Primarine definitely looks like specially oriented. I'm guessing Decidueye is going to be mixed.

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKIII *Official Media Only*

WOAH, after the Demo leaks I wasn't expecting anything exciting, but oh boy, was I wrong. - Decidueye: who would've expected final Rowlet's evo to be Grass/Ghost, likely the only starter whose typing anyone took for granted (someone thought fire/fight for Litten3 and Water/Psychic for Popplio3...

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo Datamine + Full Game Leaks Collection (Read the OP)

I don't really think it's a matter of strong/weak pokémons. Those who'll have a niche fitting with the one-nuke option will appreciate Z moves, the others will still prefer other items, independently by their strenght. Examples? A pokémon that needs a powerful coverage move to blast some of its...

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo Datamine + Full Game Leaks Collection (Read the OP)

Imho is comprehensible why they applied a fixated BP, but atm Z moves are much weaker than I expected. A 100BP Nuzzle would've been absolutely interesting, but a 100BP move without any secondary effect definitely isn't worth the item slot competitively. The same goes even for a mono-use 175BP...

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo Datamine + Full Game Leaks Collection (Read the OP)

Without knowing their stats and movepools it's almost impossibile to see through their potentials. You could say that Mimikyu has both a superior ability and typing, but then again it could have terrible stat distribution and shallow movepool, so we'll just know once the games'll be out.

Pokemon Sun and Moon Demo Datamine + Full Game Leaks Collection (Read the OP)

After the confirmation of UBs being catchable with a special ball, they really give me Shadow Pokémon vibes (Pokémon Colosseum/XD for Gamecube), like an extreme version of XD001 (Shadow Lugia). If Shadow Pokémon had to be captured with special methods and then "purified" to be used as normal...

But then things like Iron Tail really needed a buff, in power and/or in accuracy... Hope there'll be a nice new Steel move. But this is more wishlisting then actual demo discussion, so I'll stop here.

All the pseudo-legends base mons have 300 BST, while their middle stages are in the 410-452 BST range, with the most frequent total being 420. Jangmo-o has 300 BST and Hakamo-o has BST 420... Ok, that doesn't confirm anything, 300 BST for a base mon is pretty common, before Sliggoo all the...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

Very weak theory, more wishlisting than anything imho. Minior not only has a different typing, but it also has a very peculiar ability... We also hadn't any cross-gen pre-evo since 4th gen, and there're many cases of similar concepts for different pokémons (everyone thought Alomomola as a...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

I saw it all on my phone when it came out, but I had work to do so I'm late to the comment party. Everyone pretty much already said everything, so I'll stik to my subjective reception: Silvally was already cool in the leaked scans, but animated it looks even better! From its description sounds...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

So, here we are, finally. I like Silvadi, it has some "legendary beast" vibe, and it does look more like a "permanent form change" rather than a regular evolution, as I thought. It's even possibile that we never get the chance to use the constrained form/pre-evo, as it could straight-out...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

Well, it could remain the same size actually. It wouldn't be the first time, and it's appropriate to the theme: Type: Null mask is what hinders it from its full potential, what if this "evolution" is more like a permanent form change once it gets ridden of the mask? This is the most appropriate...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

Actually I wonder why everyone is taking these abilities for granted for the last stage. The change of abilities between stages is absolutely common, especially if there's a change in typing too (and here we go from a generic base Dragon type to a supposed more peculiar Dragon/Fighting). I mean...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

Many Alolan formes are getting types rare or absent from original first gen. Dark, Steel, Fairy, Dragon, Ice, Ghost... That makes sense to me, and it's an interesting pattern. I'm guessing all these dark types are "Moon" counterparts, while some like A-Exeggutor are clearly Sun related. Actually...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

People are underestimating Z-moves imho. If gems were a thing in 5th gen, Explosion is widely used (sometimes even Self Destruct) and berry + Natural Gift is a thing too even if gimmicky, I can't see why a powerful move with no drawbacks except for it having just 1PP should be that much more OP...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

There aren't many relevant fairies on the competitive scene 'cause there aren't many relevant fairies in general. The more we get the higher the chance of having more and more good Fairy types. Imho the only shift I'd make would be to make them weak to bug instead of resisting it, considering...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

I think saying "megas are generation specific" isn't quite right, the proof being they're back in this gen. The fact is that Sun and Moon have so many novelties that getting new megas would somewhat obscure them, Z moves and Alola formes in particular. But then, it's quite obvious that we're...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

If you read what I wrote, I never said that those design are "obviously finalized". I said that giving the many conceptual similarities with the now revealed middle stages, it's almost sure that those concept are confirmed, with only eventual minor changes: "I'm not saying they will be identical...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

I really don't get why some people are saying that the middle stage starters don't match with the leaked final stages. - Dartrix is starting to develop the "hood", even if it looks just like a leafy tuft atm, it's even more focused on launching quill-like feathers (it can even change their...

Gen VII: Pokemon Sun and Moon Discussion MKII

If Exeggutor is gonna be a top tier Dragon I'll laugh so hard... It'd be truly wonderful. As already said by others, I really hope Dragon Hammer will be a decent move and widespread enough: physically speaking the Dragon type has fairly mediocre moves, with either strong hindrance (confusion...
