5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

Ok thanks a lot kiddu i appreciate the quick responses. I have another question. You know how you only get to view the first 10 IVs on any given spread, do they correspond to the frame your on? To stay in that visibility threshold i would have to use frame spreads lower than 8 (to view the first 3 ivs)?

Do you need to/Should you let the C-Gear fully start up before using Sweet Scent? Will using Sweet Scent before the C-Gear graphics are fully loaded affect your delay?

Yes, they do. It's actually advised to stay at 5 or below so that you can just let RNG Reporter search for the IVs, but if you're already calibrated then 8 is fine if you can stand searching for them manually.

It won't affect your delay, though it might affect your PID if you leave it on.

You won't be able to calibrate with it, but yes.

No I meant when I start doing the actual RNGing (after calibration) and I calculate my actual frame to catch whatever, the frame should be ok yes? People were saying that they were using 10 and 13, so I can't believe 8 would be a problem.

Yes, that's what I said. You can't use it for calibration, but it's fine as far as actual captures.

is there a youtube video walkthrough on how to use the RNG reporter? I found this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9tnTbauYkE) But within the first third of the video I hit 2 walls. Got past the first one, but for the second:
What do you do if none of the options shown are on frame 3? I saw something in the guide about Frame Progression but that made no sense to me. if the c-gear being on progresses frames (by an unknown amount, at that), how do you know when/if it's at the right frame??

Ok so I can finally hit my seed. Now for the following scenario on the frames:

The Frame for my seed is 8 so I subtract that by 3 for my initial frame, then subtract that by 1 for my starting frame, add 1, and that gives me 5 advances. So I would want to then move 128 steps with 5 Pokemon in my party and then use sweet scent.

Does that all seem correct?

I know this has been talked about many times and I apologize, but how does breeding work? I have both a flawless ditto and a parent with the desired IVs. Also an everstone and power items if necessary.

I should note that both parents came from Japanese games.

This is going to be fun considering I have to hope I hit my seed after 128 steps, hope the synch worked, and hope the ability is correct. And am I correct to assume the encouter slots are only for Non C Gear (don't see much talk about it)?

Also, I can do 128 steps in water correct?

Okay, so I know the non-C-Gear seeds decrease the precision needed to 1 second instead of 1/60th of a second. What else does that get us? Will it enable control of encounter slots and/or the PIDRNG?

(Trying to catch a good Axew, and while I can hit my C-Gear seed for IVs fine, the other RNG keeps giving me the wrong nature or wrong Pokemon altogether. Should I wait for non-C-Gear or just keep at it?)

I think I'm screwing something up, it's been a while since I last tried to find my SID.

Trainer ID is 37930
Caught two wild shinys, both serious
5 / 11 / 9 / (1 or 3) / 13 / 14 (didn't have enough rare candies for an exact)
2 / 15 / 25 / 21 / 0 /16

But it's not giving me any resulting possibilities for my SID, I can only assume that I'm screwing something up but I've not really touched the RNG in about a year and a half now. Any help please? :)

Because the 5th gen RNG and Pokemon generation are completely different now. You will not be able to find your SID even if you do catch a shiny. The only way to find your SID is with an Action Replay, or if you RNG'd your ID\SID to begin with.

Don't ask about ID\SID manipulation, RNG Reporter is still in the process of being updated. Don't ask when that will finish, either.

I was just on route 5 attempting to rng a Solosis, but something kept advancing the PID even though I did nothing. As far as I could tell there was no weather, no moving npcs, just grass and trees.

What caused my PID to advance on its own? C-gear was off as well.

Right, just so I get this right and don't waste further time doing something that I could be doing wrong.

To hit my delay correctly, do I press A on the screen where it says Some functions of the C-Gear will be restricted, is that OK? When the second timer finishes.

Or do I touch yes on the screen where it says Turn on the C Gear and establish communications? When the second timer finishes.

I'm asking, because while the front page of this thread says to do the later, I am positive I have seen in here several posts saying to press A on the first point to hit my delay.

If you're interested this is what I am going for:

Seed: A5280C0F
Date 13th Nov 2011
Delay: 1617
Frame 3
IVs: 30/3/30/31/31/31
Mac Address: 1305B3
