5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

*sigh*, then I choose this one:

Frames 17, Delay 2693, HP Bug =/
...and now? I still need this Delay Timer...and I still don't know what to do, when I got it.

Another question. What's the deal with the two staged Delay Timer? Where can I get one?
And what does the "start the game" for the first timer means? Soft Resetting oder clicking continue?

(currently Seed to time says I have a Delay of 6742 and 150 Frames to catch a flawlesss Victini...and I stand right in front of it)
Two Stage Timer: http://www.smogon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81513

You start the timer the very instant you set your DS's time in the system settings. The end of the first timer (and the beginning of the second timer) is the very instant you soft reset (L + R + Select + Start). While the second timer is ticking, you are getting into the game itself (but don't turn on the C-Gear when you start the game). The very end of the second timer is when you turn on the C-Gear in-game (the very instant the second timer ends is when you hit "Yes").

Zekrom is making me suffer eternal anguish, Seems like I'll have to catch him with out RNG. If i were to RNG him in the N final battle, what method is he Method 5 Non-Cgear or C-Gear?

ok I've read that English/Japanese versions dont matter on C-gear . Is this true? if i found a nice seed and did the it the Cgear way, I'd get my desired result? Non-Cgear I've read can't be done in English as of now.

Alright, now for some more understanding.

I have to hit a delay of 9548
My Frames are 25
Seed to Times says: Date 2011.01.01 Time 19.02.00

Delay Timer says: Minutes before Target 3

All in all, I do this:

I synchronize the DS-clock on 18.59 (3 minutes before target). As soon as this is done, I immediately start the Timer. Now, I have ~18 Seconds to do a Soft reset. So I turn the DS off and on and start the game, for doing the soft reset. Then the first timer is gone and the second starts. Meanwhile I start the game, DO NOT turn on the C-Gear at first, but in the game itself, I wait for activating the C-Gear as soon as the second timer ran out..
Then I start to walk 640 steps (5 Pokemon x 128 steps for the target frame 25)
Is this correct or are there some mistakes?

Correct, English/Japanese version does not matter if you use C-Gear.

Metallica, you're almost correct. Read the first post on this thread about initial starting frames and the number of advances you need to do.

Thanks so much for the fast replies Sprocket :). Nice Victini's btw lol. I hope I can enter the circle of 5th gen RNG as well.

Oh, ok. Then for Victini:

25 Target - 3 Initial - 1 for stationary + 1 = 22 Frames

And this means for a 5-pokemon-party, I'll have to wait for a Target Frame ending with a 8 or a 3.

And NOW I found a seed with a target Frame of 3.
This means, I just have to to the C-Gear thing and afterwards talk to Victini without doing a step at all, right?

No. Ignore the -1, +1. Just -3. Always. Whether you're sweet scenting, walking into a shaking patch, talking to a stationary legendary, or whatever. It's always target frame - 3. Other than that, you're correct for everything else.

The very end of the second timer is when you turn on the C-Gear in-game (the very instant the second timer ends is when you hit "Yes").

When I hit "Yes" game will pop up some kind of Wi-Fi Connection Warning (Don't use CGear when you're in plane/hospital etc.).

Will the CGear still start even if I don't click that note and watch CGear's "start animation"? I feel like a complete idiot to ask this but it is confusing. <.<

Just one thing missing...what's about the nature? Can't it be generated with the RNG anymore? When I choose method 5 (C-Gear) I am not allowed to set a nature.

The game seeds right when you click "yes." The next screen doesn't matter. You can sit at that as long as you want, and it won't affect anything.

Natures and IVs are done on two entirely separate RNGs. That's why you bring a synchronizer, so you can hopefully get the same nature as it.

@xElite
Thanks. Now I understand why I wasn't able to hit any seed. ^^

Yay, sounds like Victini is going to be a pain in the ass =/
Thanks...I'll try to get a good one..

At least you've that 50% chance with a synch poké. You will know what the pain is when you RNG Wondercard Pokémon that has not a set nature (4% chance to get the nature you wanted out of 25).
: D

Next question:

I have a victini (of course not the one I wanted) and now I want to check, which Delay I hit...but the Seed to Time gives me 10 IVs for each seed...which 6 values do I need from them? (I cannot decline the exakt IVs of Victini as it is Level 15)

1) You're going to need exact IVs.

2) Those 10 IVs are just the first 10 frames produced by that seed, just to give you a little margin of error. If you used a C-Gear seed and made no advancements, you should expect to see your first IV on the third IV (frame 3).

Just use the search IVs feature.

I cannot use the Seach IV's feature as I can not determine the exact IV's of this Victini. It's Level 15 and

- I have no rare candys
- I have no AR

I'm afraid you've screwed yourself unless there is a way off the island without encountering Victini.

Since there's a lot of people asking if we can RNG without AR (even I did this before), and OmegaDonut is giving us the next RNG Reporter soon, wouldn't a better question be "with the coming of this new RNG Reporter, will people without an AR have a better time understanding 5th Gen RNG (gear or non-gear), or are we just going to have to work with the information we already have?"

By the time the next RNG Reporter comes out, there *should* be a clearer guide on 5th RNG manipulation. People will have a better time understanding it.

I hope.

You will have a much better understanding on how stuff works once you get your hands on the non CGear stuff. AR will be useless at that point.
