5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

At the top of the main window, it should say "RNG Reporter 9.96 [#smogonwifi alpha X]" where X is the alpha number. Since it's still in alpha, bugs are common, so knowing which build you're using would make it easier to figure out whether it's a problem with Reporter or something on your end.

Also, a screenshot of the error message and/or copying down what it says might be useful to the programmers.

It's Alpha 10

The error message when I try to close the RNG Profiles window is as follows;

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately.

Access to the path 'C:\Windows\system32\profiles.xml' is denied."

If I click "Continue", the message disappears but the window remains open. If I click "Quit", the error message pops right back up instantly.

I don't know if it's relevant, but I'm using Windows Vista

I have no idea what you're doing that you're trying to save your profiles in your system32 folder but don't do that. Save them in the same folder as RNG Reporter or something. By default it saves in the same folder as RNG Reporter so either you have a weird anti virus, you placed it into your system32 folder, or you manually told it to save it there.
The latest version is 16 upgrade to that.
The removal of the 0s from the mac address is no problem at all. That's mostly just to save space.

I need help.

Version: 9.95 BETA
Pokemon: Litwick with 31-31-30-30-30-30 IVs.
Target Seed/ Frame: 10BF601C69039317 and 1
MAC Adress: 00-23-31-CC-28-14
Seed Verified: I don't know. This is my first time abusing RNG and I haven't succeeded in any attempts, so I haven't verified my seed yet.
Results:
Litwick; |HP 7-10| Att: 16-19| Def: 23-24| Sp.Att: 8-11| Sp.Def: 29| Spd: 16-18|

I honestly don't know what I'm doing wrong to make it not work.

Okay I've been wondering how to do this for a long time. Is there a way to RNG a stationary Pokemon so that it's shiny AND has good IVs? I've tried searching for nearby shiny frames, but that doesn't seem to be working. Can someone help me? I'm also running RNG Reporter 9.95 Beta.

I assume you've already found your parameters? Use the Adjacent Seed Tool to see whether you're missing your target second, hitting the wrong Timer0, or something else.

How exactly is it not working? I've never had any trouble with that function.

My IV frame is 1, so I have no problem with that, but when I try to advance the PID frame using Chatot's, it also advances the IV frame. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if it's the program (I'm fairly new at capture RNGing...).

Chatots don't advance the IV frame. Are you sure you aren't just missing your seed?

I'm not trying to advance my IV frame as I get the Pokemon I want at Frame 1. What I want to know is how to advance the PID frame so I can get the Pokemon with good IVs and also shiny.

PIDRNG frame can be advanced using chatter from chatot. Be sure to determine your shifted starting frame, which is by hitting your seed and then immediately going to the party screen and then chattering once. then account for your advancements by using the formula [(Target frame - Shifted Starting Frame)+1]. You will be able to hit your shiny, if done correctly (hitting timer0, searched for a seed with the correct ID/SID input).

Chatot advances the PID frame and not the IV frame. If you aren't getting the IVs you want, then either you aren't hitting your seed or you're doing something else wrong. Have you tried using the Adjacent Seed Tool to check nearby seconds/Timer0s?

I need help predicting which timer0 I will get in White 2. I have constantly fluctuated from 10F7 to 10FA. I haven't been able to hit a target because of this timer0 problem.

I FINALLY got a seed that my timer0 actually matches. Now, Latias keeps advancing the PID frame by a different amount each time. The range has been 0-7 which is really throwing me off.

EDIT: The range has increase to 10. I'm not sure how. I have only had one instance where the advancement was the same as the last.

Use an external timer (Eon Timer) to help you. It should help make your Timer0 at least a little bit more consistent.

For Roamer Abuse ie. in Black. The time is summer and I hit my seed for the IVRNG and the guide says that the SSF should be somewhere around 550-750 for summer. However in order to help myself find what frame I am at I first did five chatot pitches then I captured, Reset hit seed and captured and did 8 chatot pitches and then reset and hit seed, did 11 pitches and captured. I repeated this 5,8,11 pitch over again while capturing and I got Thundurus with the right IVs and the natures in order Hasty, Gentle, Brave yet in the main RNG reporter screen I could not ever find frames in that sequence(I mean any frame sequence in ascending order of three with that sequence of natures) even up to frame 2000 yet my seed is correct but it is the PIDRNG I cannot find my shifted frame. Can anyone tell me if there is anyway that my PIDRNG SSF may be more than 2000? Is this possible even if the guide said it had to be between 550- 750? I am just feeling on settling for the Hasty one sighss.....

Because the PID advances so rapidly during the rainstorm, you probably will not hit the same SSF every time. It likely varies depending on how quickly you press A during the dialogue sequence. I highly doubt your SSF is above 2000; it is most likely just shifting slightly. When I RNG'd my 31/31/31/31/31/31 Jolly Tornadus, I had to try numerous times before I managed to hit the correct PID frame.

Yeah I was mashing A during the dialogue but I did keep getting the same sequence for 5,8,11 pitches so that means I was doing it right I just could not find the SSF. Do you think I should ID abuse for a Winter frame or SUmmer then for a shiny roamer?

Summer, because there isn't any external weather, so the only weather is the one your Roamer summons.

I have a few questions after reading PoJ's B/W ID/SID RNG Abuse guide. I'd ask her, but it looks like she's MIA. Can someone else please help me out?

1. Since I won't even have a save file yet, how will I know my DS parameters (other than the MAC address)?

2. Do I need to follow any special/different instructions when searching for an ID seed if I intend to RNG for shiny eggs (IVs and PID)?

Thanks!

1.you could play until you get access to GTS and catch a poke and use pokecheck to check its exact ivs.do it few times and find your parameters and the most common timer0

1. The easiest way is the GTS way posted above but if you want to be faster you can probably guess based off someone else's parameters with a similar setup then check the few possibilities while doing ID/SID abuse.
For DS/DS Lite try:
VCount: 60, Timer0: C7B-C7C for Black, C7E-C80 for White (depends on firmware but you're going to have a range of two), GxStat 6, VFrame 6.
If you want DSi/3DS the timer0 rangers are wider so it might be a bit tougher.

2. Just enter the PID you want to be shiny and check the shiny box. Or enter the seed for the IVs/PID and select what frame the PID is on.
