5th Gen PRNG Help / Info - Latest: RNG Reporter 9.96.5, PPRNG 1.15.0

So I'd have to play through until I can trade, then delete my save file and start over again, this time RNGing for the ID/SID? I may not be able to do that because I might be having a friend take my unused game (currently no save file) to Worlds for the Mystery Gift, so starting and erasing a save file would erase that WonderCard. I can only use a 3DS too...

well couldn't you do the rng before he take it to worlds.?
you just do few parameter findings when you get to trade.then delete the save .once you have the parameters .the rest is easy. i dont think that would take much time.or trade the poke from the wondercard to a friend, then do the rng.(that is if you are not planing on rnging the wondercard poke ofcuz..)

I'm pretty sure the game can store 3 wondercards without a game saved.
I know it can store at least 1 because I've downloaded them before without having a save file, but I have to imagine that if you erase the save file, the WonderCards will be erased too.

I was planning on RNGing whatever the Pokémon is, but it turns out that I won't be seeing my friend before he leaves, so that is a non-issue.

I'm going to RNG a Thundurus, and I'm not terribly sure where to start (I'm a visual learner, and there really is no good guide for this on YouTube), so let me see if I have the process right:

- Listen to the old woman's story, save inside the house
- Find a good result on RNG Reporter, and set the DS's clock to the seed's date and time
- Turn the game on at said time (ideally in a season with no weather occuring on whichever route you catch the genie)
- Go outside, mash the A button to get through the scene
- Catch the roamer
- Use the PID%6 Method to figure out exactly where you landed
- Keep using the PID%6 Method until you home in on your right combo of IVs and nature
- ???
- Profit

Now, I read about the PID%6 Method, from what I understand it assumes that what you catch has at least one flawless IV; what if you catch the genie and it has no flawless IVs? Ideally you want to run into the roamer as soon as you hit the grass, but what if you don't? Does that mess with the results? And does it make a difference if I already beat the E4 (once to beat the game, another time to beat Alder)?

So confusing @_@

RNG Reporter now has the option to display characteristics in search based on the IVs of your seed, so the PID%6 method is no longer necessary. Otherwise, that's correct.

Also, if none of your IVs are flawless, then you missed your seed (I assume you searched for at least one flawless IV...), so the results you get won't be useful. It doesn't matter if you encounter it right away, all of its stats are set when it flies away after the cutscene. Beating the E4 doesn't matter either.

I have 2 DS's. If my Black file was saved on my first DS after playing through the dream world, but I then decided to save on the second DS and did some RNG, would I be able to go back to the dream world immediately after switching back to and saving on the first DS (after the 20 hours)?

i think you have to wait 24 hours from the save and then you can use it again next day at the same time. i mean you have to give a full day (24) and the exact time after that.

EDIT: even if you did rng on the same ds you have to wait because you change time.

Uh huh...okay now that I'm actually doing it, I was wondering how RNG Reporter replaces the PID%6 Method...like what tools/features do you use after capturing the genie and seeing its summary? Also, the result for HP Ice 70 is in Spring, so how much should I (approximately) account for for a shifted starting frame?
Also, I'm bringing custom chatter Chatots to this thing, how will I know how many frame advancements to do before stepping outside the house?

I know, dumb n00b questions, but I'm hearing so many different things from different sites, each thing written during a different period of time (early BW1, mid-late BW1, etc.)

I'm attempting to RNG in Black 2 and having the hardest time with it. Was wondering with Latios roaming, would that affect frames when inside Giant Chasm cave. At first I was trying to RNG ditto to spawn in Giant Chasm hollow, and it wasn't working. So I wanted to check if I could RNG any wild pokemon in black 2, so I started in Giant Chasm Cave.

So far I've been unlucky. On the main screen when I switch it to Gen 5 PIDRNG two check boxes pop up for roamer and ( black white 2? ). Do I need to have the black white 2? checked? It's also possible that I'm not locking down the timer0 correctly, when I calibrate after 11 tries I get 1105 to show up the most, with 1103, and 1106 tieing each other.

Any info on this would help immensely, for whomever has tried to RNG Black 2. I'm using a ds lite, with a legit cart of Black 2.

Hold on...since when does Latios roam in Black 2?

Do you use an external timer to hit your Timer0? Usually much more reliable to do it that way.

Well let me phrase the Latios, he doesnt roam all over the map, but he flies around the destroyed lab by route 2. I decided to skip the event to catch him and the rest of the stationary pokemon to go after Imposter Ditto.

I've been using EON timer, I'm hitting a seed, I can hit the same one each time, but it's a seed not showing up. So haven't been able to figure out what exactly I'm hitting. I'm still testing out alot of things, will report back with more details later.

Also I don't have any troubles RNG with black one using the same DS.

Latios doesn't actually roam (change positions randomly). It just appears in different spots as you walk around the Dreamyard and play hide-and-seek with it. It eventually stops moving around and acts as a stationary encounter. It should not affect your attempts to RNG other Pokemon.

Can Someone explain to me how to PID RNG Pokemon in areas where there are NPCs, such as Chargestone Cave? I've been trying for a while and I can't seem to hit my target frame.

I have a question , I am RNGing Thundurus I have ID abused so that frame 833 in Summer will yield a shiny roamer. I save in the house, Hit my seed and walk out immediately, I mash A through the dialogue and till the rain ends, I go capture it and get Jolly with the Right IVS on my SSF(don't know what it is but I look at the main RNG reporter page) I see that Frames 672, 698, 696 are viable frames matching this and I repeat this 5 times and get the same Jolly Alert to sounds Roamer. I increase the frames in increments of 10 but I get no matching pattern with even +2/-2 frames so I am not able to find my SSF, is it possible that my frames are sticking or something?

You need to find your shifting starting frame, so Sweet Scent immediately without doing chatters, then compare the results with your PID frames, then SR and do your chatters, minus your shifting your starting frame. Alternately, the second floor of the Chargestone Cave doesn't have any NPCs.

Can anyone link me to a page that explains how to rng swarm pokemon? I've been searching for a few and have come up short. I've found the time i'm suppose to hit, but when i do i get a different ( non-swarm) mon with the correct iv's. I can provide more info if necessary

Okay! Thanks.

Seem to be hitting a problem with Pandora's Box in 9.95... Whenever I enter the ID number I hit to find out the seed I hit, it comes up with nothing.

Seeing as I've not used Pandora's Box very often, I'm not exactly sure as to how it deals with multiple timer0s regarding the seed finder box, so it could simply be I'm having a stroke of bad luck with my timer0, but like I said I can't know that for certain.

Any advice would be helpful.

I haven't rng on wondercard in awhile do i use glan wondercard or wondercard on the main reporter...thats all i need to know please...

edit: im actually having trouble with pandora box as well but 4th gen instead, i do hit my delay but i get a different id that im not looking for...strange...

Is there a way to rng a specific id number in black 2? Thanks for the help I received earlier.
Use Pandora's Box, select the TID option.

Most events use regular Wonder Card. GLAN stands for Gender Locked Any Nature, so only use that for events that fit that specific description.

And Pandora's Box is bugged in 9.95, so you may want to upgrade to 9.96.
