I hurl the ultra ball out of my hand, exploding on the ground with a flash of light. The bright energy pulls together, solidifying with every second that passed. My aerodactyl stood, ready to fight.

“ChamWOW! I choose you!” This is not me shouting. Seriously, why would I name a pokemon ChamWOW? Why would anyone?

My brow creased in worry. I’d never fought a medicham lead before. I didn’t know it’s weaknesses, resistances, or anything, for that matter! I didn’t even know if it had stealth rock.

I knew what I had to do. The man stood opposite me sweating, waiting in anticipation for me to make my move. In one fluid motion, I whipped out my laptop and was browsing smogon for the moveset! To make a long story short, a devilish grin spread across my grin at it’s lack of stealth rock.

The first blood was mine… well not really mine, just the poor creatures that I enslaved to fight for me. I knew this would happen. Aerodactyl may not like it, but no matter how the match turns out, he’s always one of the first three to die.

And I know now that he will die. I don’t want to waste one of the precious pokemon that I actually like by taking the bullet punch I know is about to kill it.

And die that miserable excuse for a bird does. I frown at my foe, letting him think for a split second that he emerged victorious from that conflict, but then I smile, spitting at the floor next to me. He looked confused, obviously trying to hide his fear.

Rotom is my next pick. Rotom can take anything he can throw at me! Except tyranitar. Or scizor. Or weavile. Well… It’s pretty durable anyway.

Shadow ball in your gay little pink face, medicham.

Claydol. Another pokemon I know nothing about. It’s typing and the amount of damage I did to it, however, suggest that this may have been a bad move on their part. Plus, I got lucky and as Rotom fired of it’s ghosty ball, The claydol cowered, lessening his resistance to my further attacks.

I know what to do now. Shadow ball in your face. Hey! It’s not like my choice scarf gives me a chance to be creative!

It’s a toxic spiker. I chuckle madly, saying in an ominous voice reminiscent of emperor palpatine, “good… good…” It most likely has sludge bomb, ineffective against the awesome might of the ferocious water dragon I just summoned. I had been planning on switching to my rotom, allowing it the vengeance it has so clearly wanted. I patted it’s pokeball. “another time,” I muttered, “another time.”

Rotom, though, is back in, ready for his revenge. There is nothing this skarm can do to stop my thunderbolt! I start to laugh! I go into a maniacal ‘Muahahahaha’ as Rotom shoots a bolt of lightning out of it’s refrigerator exterior.

Once again I have made a mistake. There is nothing Skarmory can do to stop me. But he can switch.

When the dust fades, Lucario stands to me awaiting my next order, medicham lying motionless in the dirt behind it. I shout out to Lucario as it raises it’s fist in triumph, “look behind youuuuu!”

He does. He looks behind just in time to see the wounded pink slut barreling it’s flaming fist into my poor lucario’s stomach. I gasp as lucario is struck, life turning into slow motion.

I'm sorry but I'm just not into the half role play narration half warstory type thing we have going on here :(

Same, I cant really read this warstory comments at all because like... I dont know if im reading why you made a move, or if the Director of the movie you are protagonizing here gave you a dialogue that you must not change for any reason.

Actually, I sorta liked the role play style of the commentary. However, this battle wasn't particularly good, so in the future picking one with better predictions might be better. Also, I was a bit confused as to why your opponent had two Rotoms when species clause was on. Better luck next time though!

EDIT: Scratch the Rotoms comment. In the future I recommend using one individual sprite for each Pokemon.

Ok, this warstory wasn't really good. You didn't explain your thought process well enough and just filled gaps with explaining the events in great detail, which isn't really how a warstory should be writen.

I too am sorry, that I wasted a lot of time reading this. It's like you didn't even try and predict, bar once.

2 Dragon Dances on the most widely known phazer in OU play?
Thunderbolting when you knew your opponent had a ground resist?

And Hitmontop without priority is a poor Hitmontop. 4 out of 6 top moves on Hitmontop are priority, what Hitmontop doesn't use it? Also I didn't understand why you were choosing to make any moves, I just kind of read that you were upset your opponent out predicted you a few times or out played you and you spat at him. :/ Meh.

It was a bit amusing at moments, but mostly meh. Gimmicky narration can't make up for a fairly average battle. I suppose this is your first warstory; I would suggest waiting for a really special battle before doing your next.

And please sort out your opponent's Rotom's sprites! First time it shows up it's a fridge, then next time it's a fan!

This was mildly entertaining. You did make some pretty stupid prediction errors. I thought some of the side comments were funny but you kinda got WAY into your pokemon master fantasy lol.
6.5/10

1) Yes, I know the battle sucked.
2) I messed up on the rotom sprites, I'll go fix that.
3) I know my prediction was horrid. That what I'm working on right now in my battles.

I personally liked the commentary but I did not like the predictions..sending in a Gyara in on a Skarm without Taunt? I could understand when you used T-bolt not predicting a switch,he could of stayed in.

The most interesting thing about this warstory is that Medicham survives ExtremeSpeed from Lucario.

But seriously, I think that you wanted to try something new. That narration and that try to put some emotions into it but... I think you overcomplicated it. I felt strange reading it and to be honest I had a feeling that you... tried to hard making it unique. My little advice here is that making things more complicated doesn't always make warstory better, especially not in specific form, which is warstory. Warstory should include some your thoughts, some sentences about your strategies and explaining why you chose that move and not another. Just saying what happens in this moment isn't enough. Also lack of predictions here somewhat hurt this warstory even more. Also I didn't understand some of your moves like trying to Dragon Dance on SKarmory without Taunt. Also battle wasn't that entertaining like we would like to read. Props for trying some new and original, unfortunately you didn't do that well. Just make it more simple in future. But I guess you just need some experience to make it better. Cheers.

Ok, this battle really didn't deserve a warstory, and you say you know the battle wasn't good. So why make a warstory if its not good?

The comments were quite entertaining but you didn't give much insight into your thoughts or the battle, just going on with your trainer fantasy. It was hard to keep track of the score as well. Next time try to make more insightful comments and choose a better battle.

I for one actually disliked the corny comments. Warstories with the OCCASIONAL humorous or overemotional comment are funny. When you overdo it, you kill it pretty quickly. Besides, I read warstories for battling thought processes and maybe seeing some awesome teams. This battle was meh.

So in short, less pretending to be Ash, more cold hearted calculating video game player.

While I did find the comments relatively entertaining, the fact still remains that this was a sub-par battle. If you had combined the fun comments with your actual thought process during the battle, this would have been a much better warstory.

As others have said,The comments are pretty lacking and there were some misplays.Im not even sure if this was the right battle to warstory...

5.1/10 please do try to improve your comments next warstory!

I was turned off by the writing style. Instead of sounding epic, you sound down right corny man. Just write straight. btw, I stopped reading when you tried set up dragon dance sweep against skarmory. gah . . .

lol, has anyone noticed the recent burst of warstories in Stark? none of them very good though ... :(

on the battle itself, you played poorly. Not even knowing Medicham's weaknesses or movepool? wtf?
better luck next time.

Why did you let aero just die to bullet punch in the beginning? I would have left him as death fodder for later, and switched in Rotom to resist the bullet punch. Also, poor predictions do not help this warstory. However, I thought that the narration style was funny.

I liked the narration man, good job. Your battling was poor though, like why did you use stone edge against skarmory with gyarados? Waterfall hits harder, although you shouldnt have stayed in anyway. And then why did you try to set up on it when skarmory almost always carries whirlwind?

I've always been a fan of "Role-Playing" warstories, so props for that! I like for a warstory to be, well, a story and more about entertainment! So yeah, I enjoyed the comments, so keep that up! I agree, however, that maybe include some more insight into the "thought process", and that is wasn't a great battle.

Creativity in your dialogue and writing is fine in small doses, but it doesn't make up for the fact that your play was terrible. Your prediction and choices were awful; e.g. your claim that Tentacruel would carry Sludge Bomb was terrible; noone runs that in OU when they have Ice Beam, or more commonly, HP Electric. Regardless, if you thought Sludge Bomb was coming, you should realise that Tentacruel's got nothing against Gyarados and gone for the Dragon Dance on the first turn anyway. Then, you went for TWO dances against Skarmory, who always carries Whirlwind.

In short: Creative dialogue adds to a good warstory. But it doesn't make a bad one into a good one.

I can't understand why your nooby opponent switched in Medicham for Claydol against a Rotom. Didn't he know Rotom has Shadow Ball or that Ghost beats Psychic?

Okay, that's enough criticism for now. Take on board all of the advice that has been offered but don't be too discouraged - I've seen far worse first attempts!
