(Archive) Small Objective Changes Thread

On the RMT rules page, the OU banlist has not been changed from the initial banlist. It needs to be updated to include the first round of suspect testing.
This is not something on-site, it's in the forums. You'll have to PM an RMT moderator to have that fixed. I suggest either Bloo or Haunter.

On the choice set, the calculations are off:
The whole analysis is a joke and those calculations are exaggeration anyway. It'd take away from the humor if it were fixed. :P

No, it hits for 40 Base Power (keyword base), but it happens to be super effective. Just because it hits super effectively doesn't really let it beat Lanturn, either, so the sentence is fine. I have fixed the issue with capitalization of Base Power, however.

Porygon-Z's analysis page: http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon/porygon-z

Porygon-Z was vastly over-hyped in the early stages of the 4th generation, claiming to be the only Pokemon that could OHKO Blissey with a special attack after just one turn of set-up. However, it soon fell into obscurity because of its average Speed and lack of resistances. With a couple of new move tutor attacks and some newly discovered sets, it is once more worth consideration. Boasting the highest non-uber Special Attack in the game and a 160 Base Power Tri Attack (factoring in Adaptability and STAB), Porygon-Z is a potent addition to any team that can be tailored to its needs. It can 2HKO every Pokemon in the entire game after one Nasty Plot boost.

First case I think it should be "worth considering" or "worthy of consideration".
Second case I think "every" and "entire" together are rather redundant. I'd rewrite to "every Pokemon in the game" or "every single Pokemon in the game".

In Pidgeots analysis, in the Optional Changes section, it says the moves Double Edge and Brave Bird are illegal together. This is not true. Through breeding with a Staraptor that has both moves, Pidgeot can have both.

Double-Edge is a third generation move tutor move for Pidgeot, it is not an egg move, so Staraptor cannot pass it on to Pidgeot by breeding.

Just saying, The Entei analysis that got uploaded yesterday has the Physical Attacker Additional Comments coming after the last set and before the Team Options. Probably just a mistake with the SDMS, but it should be fixed.

Well the first link was completely wrong, so "there's your problem."
On top of this, both links were <a href="dp/etc."> when really it should be <a href="/dp/">. I could be wrong and this may have zero bearing on it, but last I checked this was important.

EDIT: Scratch that, I know the problem. Even if the second link is in the form <a href="/dp/articles/baton_pass_chains">, the SCMS seems to auto add this to "http://www.smogon.com/dp/pokemon" as oppsed to just "http://www.smogon.com/"

This is a deep rooted problem altogether.

I've looked over the issue you both seemed to have and have gotten it to work. I am not sure what error you were encountering, Zy, but everything seems to be working fine for me when I fiddled with it. Also, I completely removed the link to the ADV article, as that's totally misleading for the reader even if you do mention that "it's for a different tier". After some reshuffling of that stuff, it should be good now.

http://www.smogon.com/dp/items/wave_incense

Overview

Although a 20% boost sounds good when coupled with STAB, few Pokemon are able to use Wave Incense effectively. Even those whose analyses mention it—Floatzel and Empoleon—hardly ever hold it. This is because there aren't many movesets that focus primarily on Water-type attacks. Most Pokemon would be better off getting their power boosts from more conventional items, such as Life Orb or Choice items. These items boost all of the attacks in a moveset instead of just attacks of one type, making them superior choices over Wave Incense.

It says that Floatzel and Empoleon's analyses mention it, but Floatzel doesn't now, and Empoleon is having an update now that doesn't mention it either.

According to the article about battle conditions, Spikes starts at 1/16 and doubles with each layer. Unless I'm mistaken and things have changed in the transition to Gen 5, the proper Spikes damage table should read like this:

1 Layer - 12.5%
2 Layers - 18.75%
3 Layers - 25%
