Data Ask a Simple Question, Get a Simple Answer (ASB Version)

No they don't. Deck has some list of ordering somewhere, let me have a look around.

EDIT: Or that, deadfox

Yeah, as TheWolfe pointed out, that's in-game order, not ASB order, and when effects happen has been codified (albeit not completely) in ASB and there is no given order within categories so it is not unreasonable to believe they all happen at the same time (and can cause some interesting ties as a result).

Anyway TheWolfe, since all other forms of passive damage happen after action, I would say that Curse damage most likely also happens after action.

Depends, but you'd have to get clearance from either the ref or an ASB projmod for a re-order, regardless of the magnitude of the aforementioned tremendous fuckup.

No, you have to buy all Pokemon in their simplest stage (including Baby Pokemon).

I would really have thought that one went without asking.

I would imagine because the page is already half filled with stickies.

There aren't that many threads labelled Data so it is still easy enough to find.

In a multi battle, if someone sets a substitution on Pokemon's move, and that Pokemon uses a move one someone else, does the substitution still occur?

If you had no idea what I just said, here's an example:
Abra: Psychic - Hidden Power Ice - Thunderpunch
If Dragonite uses Dragon Claw, change your action to Protect
Bagon: Outrage - Outrage - Outrage

Dragonite: Dragon Dance - Dragon Claw Bagon - Fly

Charizard: Heat Wave - Heat Wave - Heat Wave

Wouldn't Abra use Protect on the second action, not HP Ice?

yes because of the wording. If he would've said use protect if dragonite uses dragon claw on abra, if he used it on bagon, abra wouldn't use protect.
Make sense?

That's up to your discretion. Of course if you take some things like that literally, you may be called a dick, but ultimately you have to right to interpret that substitution either way.

Hey guys, I'm currently reffing a battle which is Texas vs MK (page 1) (page 2) and I just got a calc that seemed so big that I have to ask here before posting it to see if I made a mistake.

OK, this is a Cacnea (positive nature, rank 4 attack) vs a Treeko (negative nature, rank 1 defence) with a total rank difference of 3. The Cacnea used a pin missile (My RNG rolled 4/5 for 4 hits (that equals 8 BAP total)) and had +2 attack from a swords dance last action. Here is the calc.

8 (BAP) + 0 (STAB) + (3 x 1.5) + 0 (no crit) x 1.5 (Super Effective) x 2 (stage boost) = 37.5 = 38

Now to me this just seemed like a little too much, so I thought I'd ask if I messed up somewhere along the way.

((Base Attack Power + STAB + Critical Hit + Attack Rank Bonus + Ability Effects + Field Effects - Defense Rank Bonus - Reflect/Light Screen - Burn Effect) * Type Effectiveness) + (Stage Boost Difference *1.75).

(8+4.5)*1.5+(2*1.75)=22.25 rounds to 22 damage.
Each stage boost (Swords Dance, etc) adds 1.75 to the final damage.

I have a question about lightning rod in a double battle. It says that if the possesor has an immunity to electric type moves it does not activate. Will it still draw the attack, but not get the boost, or will the attack just hit the target?

That's an arbitrary decision by the Hall owners; however, there will apparently be an overhaul in how ranks are handled fairly soon (if a certain someone can get off his lazy British ass...)
