My question remains unanswered.

IIRC you don't, because the item is returned to you after the battle, and the EVs are calculated upon defeating the pokémon.

Question time - does Darmanitan's Zen-Mode actually work on PS? Does it work if it procs while Darm is behind a substitute?

I've got a question in regards to Download. Say that a Pokemon has exactly the same Defense and Special Defense, due to a combination of EVs/Ivs/Nature, which stat will Download boost? Thinking logically I believe it would target whichever of the two stats was lower as a base stat for that particular Poke, or does it just randomly decide?

Special Attack is boosted in that event

Out of curiosity, how much does the Pokemon community on Youtube (people like NBZ, Spade, TonyFlygon, E-lo, etc.) effect the metagame (for all tiers)? Like for example, TonyFlygon has made a strong Ubers Sand team, but after he showed a video with the team, has sand teams jumped in popularity (Particularly Ttar+ Ferrothorn+ Lugia+ Latias+ Exca+ Arceus Ghost) ?

I really don't think that it makes much of a difference. With thousands of users playing thousands of battles, the likelihood that a single YouTube user will popularize a team is pretty low unless they can top the ladder. Just winning won't convince people, any team can beat any other team with enough hax or a big enough skill disparity.

Anyone else (read: somebody who actually follows the YouTube Pokemon scene) is welcome to disagree with me here.

Hello, I'm going to play in a local tournament playing with OU and the regular clauses stated here. I would like to know what is the simplest, yet effective, type of team to use, and perhaps examples of people who have posted such teams. Thank-you!

Rain offense, or possibly Deo-D offense.

The RTM sub-board is an excellent resource for looking at teams successfully using styles or just getting ideas of your own.

Make sure to bring CB scizor and a pokemon that uses Stealth Rock, that will be enough against many teams.

It's worth noting that many YouTubers try to use teams that are intentionally unusual in order to get more views (UUs in OU, etc.). As such, they tend not to be so influential among people looking to win.

seconded. if you watch like theflamingspade and nbz they say ou battle and they're really doing like 1 OU 3 NU 1 RU 1 UU, it gets them views. The better people to watch for tips and sets to use imo are people like wilechase, shofu, and tonyflygon, people who actually use teams with Pokemon from the given tier. Just throwing it out there

Would it be fine to build my team off the suggestions on the Scizor strategy page?

I wouldn't recommend doing so. You didn't specify when the tournament is but after taking the suggestions of the other people who have responded to you, I would recommend making a team and heading to http://pokemonshowdown.com to test it out against other OU teams before the tournament. As far as building your team goes, if you read some good RMTs, you will notice that in the process of creating the team, many people start with 1 Pokémon and pick teammates from there. For instance, Scizor likes a teammate that can take Fire-type attacks such as Politoed. Politoed will also provide weather for your team and give you an advantage. So now you can add a Pokémon that enjoys rain such as Jirachi or Dragonite. It would also be a good idea to try to include Pokémon that fulfill certain niches like hazard setter at this point. Sets I mentioned for reference:
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/scizor#Choice_Band
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/politoed#Defensive
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/dragonite#Tank_(Rain)
http://www.smogon.com/bw/pokemon/jirachi#SubCM (Utilizing Thunder and Water Pulse)

Thanks for your well-explained response.

The tournament is next Saturday, so there's still some time, but I don't have access to Pokemon Dream World, as my 3DS can't connect to the wi-fi where I am; it's a campus tournament. So I realize that limits what kinds of teams I can build, especially weather teams.

I want to use a bronzong in my ou team to counter tornadus-t and dragons. What would be the best ev spread to handle these threats?

You might want to look around the Wi-Fi boards, there's plenty of kind users who might be able to give you what you need.

I'd use 252 HP / 84 Atk / 80 Def / 92 SpD Sassy, with 2 speed ivs. This gives you a lot of mixed bulk, as well as the ability to hit pretty hard with Gyro Ball. Other sets can be found here.

First of all, focus on the dragons because even Specs-Tornadus-T only barely 3HKO you with Hurricane when you have maximum HP. You however can 2HKO it after SR or with merely 32 EVs on Atk with Gyro Ball.
Salamence will be OHKOed by HP Ice 31,25% of the times after SR damage. When it has a Life Orb it won't survive the next attack. Salamence can't 2HKO you with +1 Outrage, Fire Blast outside of rain can, though.
Dealing with Dragonite is similar. This time you need SR just to 2HKO both the Bulky and the offensive DD-Nite. However Dragonite's Fire Punch is less dangerous than Mence's FIre Blast because it cannot 2HKO you without being at +1.
The obvious downside is that nothing prevent the opponent to bring multiple Dragons to the battle, so you better have some wish-support, should Bronzong happen to be the only dragon-counter in your team.

We recommend you the classic physical defensive Bronzong, with HP ice:

Bronzong @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Toxic / Earthquake

You can go with Electrolytes spread, but the additionally SDef does nothing to prevent a 2HKO from Salamence so I'd rather take less damage against Outrages, especially because it can't heal for itself.

arguable, but the only jolly tyranitar worth using is scarf tar with max speed, and ddtar is generally shit in bw2 regardless, so adamant will be more flexible.

A Jolly nature allows it to outspeed everything slower than Starmie, while an Adamant nature gives you more power. It's up to you, really. Unfortunately, Dragon Dance Tyranitar isn't as great as it once was, so it may be in your best interests to scrap Dragon Dance and perhaps use a Choice Band set on the Adamant one. I recommend this set:

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Adamant nature
Sand Stream
156 HP / 252 Atk / 100 Spe
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
- Pursuit
- Superpower / Aqua Tail

Note that Pursuit is another egg move, so you may need to find another suitable move for that slot.

Which 6 Pokémon have the smallest sprites?
Which 6 Pokémon not including Ubers have the largest sprites? And which 6 including Ubers?
