I'm trying to get the GTS cloning glitch to work on my Diamond. My DS makes it to the 8th spin, and at that exact point, I turn the game off with the image of it at 8.00 burned into my screen as it powers off. When I turn it back on, I get the error message about the corrupt save, but the Pokémon I was attempting to clone was only in my party, not the GTS. Any advice?

My question: I got this Ninjask (first EV trained pokémon, yay!) with these IV's and EV's:

IV: 28/30/28/0/29/30
EV: 180/250/0/0/0/80

That gives it these stats at level 50: 157/141/64/49/69/209

I use it in the battle tower, with the standard Speed - Attack BP moveset (Sub, SD, BP, X-scissor).

Now, what would be good recipients to get the boost? I now use a (non EV trained) Sceptile and a (non EV trained) Weavile, but somehow I feel it doesn't really work. Also, is it normal that it's very hard to pull of a swords dance?

Thanks

What would you recommend on Starmie; Hydro Pump or Surf?

It depends on preference really. Personally I take the reliability of Surf over Hydro Pump's innacuracy every time, but if you try that out and find it's just not quite packing the punch you need it to, than Hydro Pump may be the better option.

Yeah, I tried to do it the normal way and I got to 5293750 = (3x^2 + 250) (2x - 25), which gets me nowhere as I can't factor 3x^2 + 250 without using imaginary numbers, which would be stupid to do as there is no way to undo it with the rest of the equation. @_@

For equations more complicated than a polynomial in x^2, using Excel is a decent way to find a solution.

Fill the first few entries in column A with numbers 1, 2, 3, etc. Highlight all of the entries you've filled, and click and drag the bottom-right corner of the box down the column until you get to box 100.

Then, in another column (say Column B), you type in box 1:

=1.2*(A1)^3 - 15*(A1)^2 + 100*A1 - 140

And press 'enter'. Then, select the cell, drag the bottom right corner down the column as before until you get to the 100th row.

That then gives you the entire list of levels and equivalent experience point total.

EDIT: In fact, if you want to see how much additional experience you need for each level, you can then write in the second box of a third column (Column C):

=B2-B1

Press enter, repeat the dragging thing.

I got this roselia that I have been wanting and it is perfect except it can't learn the Right Hidden Power, should I keep trying or train it?

I Want to use a Parafuseflinching jirachi, I already have bodyslam (60% of paralysis) and Ironhead (60% chance of flinching) but i dont know weither to use Dynamic punch or swagger

Dynamic punch has 100 power, 5 PP 50 acuracy and an 100% chance of confusing

Swagger does no damage confuses 100% of the time has 90 accuracy 15pp and raises the opponents atk by 2 stages

Both have there own benefits dynamic punch does huge damage but swagger has better accuracy pp and raises the oppenents atk so if they hurt themselves they will do more damage but on the down side if they somehow manage to hit on me i will sustain major damage.

Also i was going to use wish for wish support, should i use a different move instead?

I just learned about EV training, and so I want to start to EV train, but all my Pokemon are about level 70 or so. So I was just wondering if you think I could EV train my team before they reach 100. Or do you think I should Breed new pokemon? Thanks so much!

There are berries which lower the EVs of stats if you want to go down that way, so you can EV train as you please even though you're at level 70. You should breed for decent IV Pokemon if yours don't have decent IV's but that may take a while.

7. This is already in the Smogon and Stark forum rules, but I will reiterate again do not discuss ROMs or other illegal things. Also, don't ask for AR codes here. Use google for that.

If you mean which codes are generally accepted by the community, then pretty much anything that doesn't go beyond the limits of the game is fine, provided you make sure that anyone you interact with is aware of which codes you've used.

What's the best pokemon for contests? Please post the pokemons for all categories (dosn't matter which gen)
Your best weapon for contests is a "double next turn's hearts" move, followed by a "double hearts if Voltage goes up" move that matches the contest's type. A "double hearts if first" is an acceptable substitute, and there are more of these than the other kind. I've won all the contests with those combos. The funniest example of mine is my Cute Chatot. Nasty Plot and Return were its only moves. It has beaten the highest rank cute contest.

Also, epic Poffin recipe. Tested and proven to max out all of a Pokemon's contest stats. You need four people working together though.

If I use my AR for Fast Hatch, IV Check, Fast Egg A LOT, and OCCASIONALLY Rare Candies, TMs, and Force Egg, will my game get screwed up?
EDIT: Also, should Cloyster run Shell Armor w/ Ice Beam or Skill Link with Icicle Spear?

If you change the time on your DS clock so that it stays on a single day, do the four Feebas squares in Mt Coronet change position?

Is Psychic even usable on Starmie, or I should use Surf for PP ensurance like SpecsTran does with Flamethrower?
Also, on SpecsSnow, Blizzard/Energy Ball/Focus Blast/Ice Beam for filler? Even a SE Shadow Ball deals less damage rhan Blizzard, so...

I'm trying to get onto the IRC channel #stark on Colloquy (I use a MacBook Pro). When I try to log in, I get a message that says I must have a registered nickname to join the room. I've looked everywhere but can't seem to figure out how to register. How do I go about doing this?

type this:

Where I can find (if there is any) a - sort of - introduction to the RNG abusing (something like the EV guide Erodent posted recently on D/P articles) on Smogon?
