Okay, another quick warstory one:

I thought that I knew how to post pictures on this site, but apparently it's a bit more tedious. What's the easiest way to put pics in your warstory?

All the pokemon sprites can be found here

Basically, you just click the Sprite you want, then copy and paste the second link (the one that says "Forum BBcode"). Just copy and paste that into your post, and you're all set. There are other ways to do it, but I find this the most straightforward.

a) Click the little landscape button, which lies in between the hyperlink and quotes icons on the "Quick Reply" section. It's a yellow sky with a brownish sun (lolwut).

b) Use images tags! They look like this:
. Post a link of an uploaded picture right in between those bracketed tags. If that doesn't make sense, quote this post and look at how I posted this supah cute sprite of Rotom!

Edit: Ninja'd. Gosh dang it, I am quite possibly the slowest user on Smogon.

genny edit: I'll say!

birkal edit: You're a monster.

If I'm ranked at 1114 and have 1116 points, does that qualify for the 1337 statistics? In short, is it determined by your overall ranking or your total points?

It is done by total points. You need to have 1337 points on the ladder in order to qualify for the 1337 stats, your position on the ladder means nothing.

i'm catching casual pokemon to use against my friends at lv. 50, and i caught a jolly 31 spe gible, but other than that it only has: 18/10/7/4/2/31. is the 10 attack going to be enough for a swords dance variant? in my opinion nature is more important than ivs, but the overall lowness of the ivs makes me want to keep trying. mainly the bulk i guess, i want to be able to switch in to the fire attacks directed at my scizor. but does it matter that much?

Well at the min I am just trying out pokemon to see what suits what and I have a machamp with adamant nature 252 atk and 252 spd with the moves rest, stone edge, dynamic punch and earthquake with the ability no guard,I also have haxorous which is also adamant natured 252 atk and 252 spd with the moves outrage ,earthquake, hyper beam and dragon dance with the ability mold breaker .im just trying to throw someone in abit different that will take alot of damage and make up for the lack of flying type cover

With machamp not being able to take moves like brave bird well and ice being a threat against haxorous I wud have big problems if I faced something like articuno if I didnt succeed with stone edge

Well, if you're playing casually, the IVs won't matter an incredible amount. You are right in saying that natures are often more important than IVs! In your case, do you have a +Atk nature? If so, then that will be doing more damage than 31 IVs and a neutral nature (without any EVs, the +Atk/10 IVs gets you to 302, while the Neutral/31 IVs only gets Garchomp to 296).

I know I personally would stick with it if you're just playing casually because I throw a little party in honor of myself whenever I get a 31 IV. Heh. It's really your choice if you want to keep searching for better IVs; it's all an issue of time. Best of luck!

If your friend is just a casual player, you should be fine. I've swept amateurs with an 11 Attack IV Metagross before. However, if your friend is more serious a replacement would be wise. You can always breed while holding an Everstone or Power Anklet to preserve you nature/Speed IV respectively.

I don't often play LC, so I wonder why DeepSeaTooth and Scraggy are not banned on Smogon

also, does agree that Metagross should be in UU rather than in OU, I mean, it can only tank Dragon-move in OU, and that's the only thing it's good at doing in OU, but still there are many more viable choice for tanking Dragon-move in OU

That barly scratches the surface of what Metagross can do. Yes, he can take dragon moves, but due to his great overall stats, he can make deadly tank as well. Stab Meteor Mash is terrifying coming off of a base 130 attack (iirc), especially when you take into account the possible attack boost. There also his stab Bullet Punch, which can really hurt especially if his attack is boosted. Dont forget he also gets Hone Claws, which can turn him into a dangerous set up sweeper. Also, don't forget that Gross can also reliably set up SR, which is a great help in todays metagame with all the powerful SR weak mons running around.

Personally, I'm surprised people don't use him more.

Ok I'm trying to get a scrafty with drain punch and dragon dance. I put the scrafty that already knows dance with a mienfoo that knows drain punch. When I hatch my scrafty it only knows drain punch and when I take the scrafty out of the day care he has all different moves namely missing dd. wtf and how do I keep the retarted day care people to not get rid of my scraftys dragon dance as it levels up in the day care

If I recall correctly, only males pass on there moves, so you'll have to breed a male smeargle, with dragon dance and drain punch, with a female scrafty to get a scraggy with both moves.

Either way bredding a male smeargle with those moves with a female scrafty will result in a baby scraggy with both moves. This is the only way to get both moves on him.

CrazyBacon is right, you do need a Smeargle. However, this is the explanation for your old Scrafty forgetting Dragon Dance in case you're curious:

When in the daycare, if a pokemon levels up and tries to learn a new move, the game picks one of his four current ones to randomly replace. Get the move deleter to delete every one of your Scarfty's moves except Dragon Dance. That way, if he learns a new move while in the daycare, the one you want won't get overwritten.

Can someone explain IV's to me , I have read the guide on this website and I just cannot get my head around it

IVs are actually quite simple. Basically, every Pokemon has a random number between 0 and 31 for each stat. At level 100, these numbers add on to the stat. (at lower levels only a fraction of them are added)

Here's an example: let's say we have a neutral natured Jirachi with no EVs. At lv. 100, Jirachi would have 100 in every stat if it had no IVs. But, if it had 31 in each IV, then it's stats would 131.

Does that help?
