Dialga is already slow so I would say quiet wouldn't make that much of a difference honestly. Just wondering for vgc veterins, is there a high possibility of facing a good trainer in the first couple of rounds. I know it is possible, but did anyone here that had a good team lose to one of the top place trainers?
In my run last year, I lost when there were 16 of us remaining. My opponent went on to lose in the next round. I was running a RD team that I thought was pretty good, but it lost to my opponent's TR team.Dialga is already slow so I would say quiet wouldn't make that much of a difference honestly. I would say that since the number of skilled players outnumber the non-skilled players, you're more likely to run into a non-skilled player in the earlier rounds. My first two opponents were horrible. One used Hyper Beam, the other had Fly. My third opponent, though, ran an explosion team that I beat 1-0.
I suppose it depends on the luck of the draw, really. That, and attempting to avoid players you think are skilled.
2 questions:
1) Do they allow Action Replays there? Like if i bring it will they not allow it?
2) What if your DS dies in the middle of the competition? Do you bring your charger?
This is a little off topic, but how does RNG work for the arceus event is HG/SS.....is its PID generated like an egg or method 1.....thanks
They run hack checks to see if competerors use AR. If you bring AR you will be disqualifed. I think they give you the DS to battle with but I'm not sure
I was thinking of using a TR team and have already started making it. The only thing I do not like about TR teams is everyone makes ways to counter them. I've seen so many videos of good TR teams losing because of a little taunt. I am trying to avoid this by making my pokemon that has TR be someone no one would think of, but I am still worried. Is it better to have a "planned team such as RD or TR or is it better to just go out there guns blazing with 4 strong pokemon that dont need set up?
Yeah but you don't want a team that relies on a certain condition too much like Rain Dance and TR. My team disruts any weather team and can deal easily with TR teams and it doesn't matter to me if they get TR up because it doesn't hurt me. The best team, in my opinion, is one that can deal with all the threats and even threats you don't know about yet.Haha, this is actually how I get my Rain Dance up. My leads confuse the shit out of almost everyone, but some players attack the right pokemon just by chance. Whoever it is, make sure it's bulky enough to survive being double teamed. I also think a good set up is more worth it, because if it lets you screw everything over, then I think it's better than just running in there with Palkia/Garchomp/Metagross/Whatever and hoping you kill everything in one hit.
Exactly, this is what I plan on doing with my team. Rather than go for something 'gimmicky' like weather or TR.Yeah but you don't want a team that relies on a certain condition too much like Rain Dance and TR. My team doesn't rely on rain at all. I just put it up to mess with people, although it does work a bit better for me if rain is currently up. I can currently counter (more like work with) TR, remove Sunny Day (and keep it in, doesn't mess me up), work in and out of rain, work around sand storm, hail does nothing to me (I make it gone first turn anyway) and take care of shedinja. I just need to make smart predictions (more like guesses...) and I'm clear.Yeah but you don't want a team that relies on a certain condition too much like Rain Dance and TR. I'm using a gimmick because gimmicks are fun and winning is secondary to me :)
You really don't want to play me tbqh. I can't wait to post a warstory about my team afterwards! Hopefully I make it through a good number of rounds.
Is Giratina (regular forme) viable for VGC? Do walling strategies work at all?
You gotta have some walling ability. That is why Kyogre is such a great VGC pokemon - deals the damage and is able to take a hit.
I would say that Giratina has a good shot at being a nice player.
