Pokémon Aurorus

I think Aury will drop due to it's many 4x weaknesses. Fighting and Steel (newly viable due to Fairies) create a very big Lucario weakness, and Lucario-M's gonna be everywhere. There's my opinion!

Quadruple weakness to Fighting and Steel is enough to make anything crap.

I can confirm Aurorus learns Encore by level up. Rock Tomb (though obvious) is also in its movepool. I can edit with a pic later, but probably won't because I'll be playing the game.
Hmm. Encore looks like it might be nice on a supporty build. If only it had reliable recover though :(

Six generations in, and GF is still giving us special attacking Rock-types without a decent Special Rock attack...

EDIT: Really sad considering that once upon a time I think either Obi or X-act ran the numbers and determined that Special Rock would be the best offensive spectrum/type combo in the game.

I just bred a male Lvl 30 Mareep knowing Power Gem with a female Amaura. No Power Gem on the hatched Amaura.
Which means nothing if Amaura learns it at an extremely high level/Move Relearner. Remember, the move only breeds if it is an Egg Move, TM/HM, OR if BOTH parents have it and the baby can learn it.

I'm not giving up hope just yet. Power Gem/Freeze Dry/Thunderbolt with Para support looks pretty nice, at least for lower tiers.

It doesn't absolutely need Para support when it has Thunder Wave itself. I have a feeling Thunder Wave+Blizzard+Thunderbolt+filler will be its best set. Chesto+Rest could also be useful to let it keep coming in to set up Hail.

Not sure why anyone would bother utilising Refrigerate when it already has Ice Beam, Freeze Dry and Snow Warning Blizzard.
Also unsure why the OP lists two Ice Moves in one set, that's just redundant.

Not if one is Freeze Dry, though! Freeze Dry hits a lot of stuff pretty powerfully that you would struggle against otherwise (hitting Water/Ground, Water/Flying, Water/Grass, and Water/Dragon 4x Weak? Yes please!)

Now, the big question is... what's the multiply versus Water/Steel or Water/Ice?

Lets be honest. Auroros WILL be low tier. Weak to rocks, takes all other hazards, terrible typing defensively and doesn't have the speed to make up for it.

That said, I can see Sub 3 Attacks and Specs being decent sets.

Btw Nature Power is Tri Attack and is a decent attacking option, it is weaker but does carry the hefty chance of status.

So I can see a set like Thunder Wave / Stealth Rock / Freeze Dry / Thunderbolt
Or Substitute / Freeze Dry / Hidden Power Fire / Thunderbolt
Or even Freeze Dry / ice Beam / HP Fire Tbolt

Nature Power now becomes Tri-Attack in Wifi battles as opposed to Earthquake. With that, Aurorus can get an 80bp ice move with a 20% chance to freeze, burn, or paralyze. Not sure how that stacks up against Ice Beam, which now has a slightly reduced 90bp with 10% to freeze, but its definitely worth consideration.

I have a level 82 Aurorus, it has never attempted to learn Power Gem and it is not on the move relearner.

Better start petitioning Gamefreak to make it happen through Dream World.

EDIT: Can we get Shell Smash on this guy? That might make him viable.

What about a RestTalk set? IIRC Sleep Talk doesn't consume the selected move's PP so it would work well with Blizzard's low PP. It has decent coverage with BoltBeam so the randomness of Sleep Talk shouldn't be too much of a hindrance.

Aurorus @ Leftovers / Life Orb
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Blizzard
- Thunderbolt
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

i was looking at the base stats of auroras the ones from serebii.net
here they are:
hp:123
attack: 77
defence 72
spattack: 99
spdefence: 92
speed: 58
these stats scream to me special offensive tank but if anyone disagrees tell me your opinion

Been testing out freeze dry in battle maison, and it really seems to hit 4X effective on the likes of Mantine, gyarados, ludicolo and Kingdra. OHKO on all of them

Where's the dragon in Crawdaunt's Dragon Dance?

Crawdaunt was raised by dragons in a sunken ship under the Bermuda Triangle... and, also, because he's awesome :p

Now, seriously... Where's Aurorus unexistent shell? It's a freaking dinosaur :O!!!!!111111111lol!!!!!!!
