Battle Subway

Help me out here:

Hydreigon @ Life Orb
Timid, 252 Sp.Atk/252 Spd/4 HP
Dragon Pulse
Surf
Flamethrower
!!!

I'd been wondering for a while how one got the Dark Pulse TM in Gen V, and only just realised you can't. Therefore, this Hydreigon of mine is never going to know Dark Pulse, sadly. What move should I put in as (vastly inferior) filler? I'm leaning toward U-turn at the moment, or maybe I should just leave Crunch in there. What do you guys think?

Did anyone here managed to made it all the way to Rank 10 of WIFI subway recently??

My ranking is now stagnant at Rank 5, and I am not very happy with this. :(

You have Charge Beam to get a chance to boost Sp.Atk if you need to finish off a pokemon and get a boost, but other than that I have nothing to say other than Hyper Voice for coverage I guess

Draco Meteor perhaps? In those situations where you might not think you can take a pokemon down with them 3 moves.. DM will normally pull through for ya.

U-Turn isn't going to do much, though I agree on the Draco Meteor idea. Not only would it just be good for general sweeping, but with hydra's nice speed you'll be able to smack off whatever is giving you problems if you're still standing.

Hmmm

Boldore @ Eviolite
Nature: Brave
Ability: Sturdy
252 Atk/ 252 Def

Sunny Day
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge
Explosion

Typhlosion @ Fire Gem
Nature: Modest
Ability: Blaze
252 SpA/ 252 Spe

Eruption
Solar Beam
Focus Blast
Flamethrower / Fireblast

Mamoswine @ Expert Belt
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Snow Cloak (Hail Team Mamo >_>)
252 Atk/ 4 Def/ 252 Spe

EQ
Super Power
Ice Shard
Stone Edge

Basically I toss out sunny day. If dore survives, I toss out stealth rock, survives again? Go boom.

346 SpA with Eruption + Stab + Sun + Gem Kills anything without Flash fire, Mamoswine is there to take out whatever Ty can't finish.

Sounds good?

My team is:

Chandelure @ Focus Sash
Modest -- Flashfire
FB // Flame Charge // Shadow Ball // Grass Knot

Terrakion @ LO
Jolly
X-Scissor // Stone Edge // Close Combat // SD

Ferrothorn @ Left Overs
Jolly (bad nature I know, I used it through the game and it kind of works)
Iron Head // Thunder Wave // Power Whip // Protect
(He works well for para/flinch hax)

That being said, I just lost on my 31st battle. Knocked out his first poke with Chandelure. He sent out Manectric, so I switched to Ferrothorn, he used TB. I used protect, he used overheat. Switch back to the Candle, absorb the overheat. I know he is faster than me, so I used flamecharge, however I get paralized, and then fully paralized. He faints. I sent out Terrakion, use CC he faints. Next comes out a Typholsion. I'm like sweet I got this. But its scarfed, he used focus blast and KOs Terra. I sent out Ferrothorn. Use TW, he FBs me again, i survive, with low health. Next I protect (trying to waste his FBs), he is fully paralyzed (of course. next turn I use Iron Head, he FBs and misses (2 FBs left). I protect he is fully paralized again. I use Iron Head he FBs and hits. Now he is down to about 1/3 health and I am down to about 25 health. I protect and he FBs (0 Fbs left). So I'm like sweet, he has to struggle and I should win (my health is now up to about 40 b/c of left overs). So I use Iron Head, he used struggle and it f---ing cits and I die and he has about 1 hp left. Moral of the story I hate battle subway.

Anyway, If anyone actually read that thank you, I had to get it out. lol

But to the the main point of my post, I am new to the whole actual serious battling thing, does anyone have any tips for my team?

Thanks.

My idea for a doubles strategy was having a Swampert set up Stealth Rock and then use Protect while I had a Specs Starmie spam Surf. Then I had a Physical Mixape and a Swords Dance Scizor in reserve. However the ridiculously common Wide Guard makes this rarely work.

As a result will probably swap Starmie for SpecsLatios. While I lose offensive coverage I gain defensive synergy and pure power; and I feel Trick would be handy.

I'm left with:

Swampert (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 44 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Ice Beam
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Protect

Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Trick

Scizor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Brick Break
- Roost

Infernape (M) @ Fire Gem
Trait: Blaze
EVs: 252 Atk / 64 SAtk / 192 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Overheat
- Close Combat
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Any thoughts?

Does anyone else find farming for BP far less dull in doubles?

EDIT: No amount of theorymon prevents your last pokemon being frozen. sigh.

Ok Im convinced, The Battle Train is bugged

Archeops Vs Samurott

He gets off Razor shell before I get off acrobatics.

I grab my face and say " -sigh- Maybe he's scarfed" Send out starmie, use Psyshock, ASSURANCE

WTH. How the Heck does a samurott out speed my 252 Spe Hasty Archeops???????

Wait I dont get what Serebii is saying, when do you battle Subway Master Ingo the second time?
I already beat the Singe Train line, when i got to Traienr 21. Then it said I unlocked the Super Single Train Line
Im in it right now, however on Serebii it said he is encountered again at battle 49
So do I have to battle 28 times on the Super Single Train to battle him again?

The Super train lines are separate from the normal train lines.

All the normal trains will only go to 21 battles. After you beat the Subway Masters' first teams on the 21st battle, it will start over from 0.

The Super lines go as far as you can, and you'll only face the Subway Masters on the 49th battles.

Yeah, thanks it doesnt matter I had the 14th battle on the super line and I got 3-0ed by a Salamence that EQed my Infernape, outsped by Jolly Garchomp and hit with Dragon Rush, then crit my Scizor while it survived the Bullet Punch :/

223 | Daikenki | Mild | Splash Plate | Retaliation | Shell Blade | Assurance | Encore | HP/Atk

This was the one you faced, I presume. Unfotunately, I can't find any reason as to why it outsped. Maybe you were just not paying any attention and the trainer set up trick room or something?

Conversely, did your archeops happen to have a macho brace?

Is it possible for the opponent to hinder me setting up Trick Room in doubles when I have the following as lead?

Clefable@Focus Sash
Relaxed 252/0/252/0/4/0
Magic Guard
- Follow me
- ~
- ~
- ~

Bronzong@Occa Berry
Relaxed 252/0/252/0/4/0
Levitate
- Trick Room
- ~
- ~

The only thing i see atm is something with an attack that hits more then once like Double Kick to break the Sash of Clefable and kill it and then the other Poke annoys Bronzong.

Critical hit eruption and heat wave or water spout look to be pretty much the only things that'll keep you from setting up. Thing is though, with such a passive lead you'll find battling really slow and you won't be able to use the trick room too effectively. You're probably better off just using a goodstuffs team in all honesty since they're fast, reliable and most importantly have offensive presence.

Also Fake Out, since that buys them an extra turn of using that Eruption.

Yeah, I've taken a break from Battle Haxway. Ran into an annoying all-Ice team and, despite Heatran/Scizor, got utterly destroyed (by their Water attacks, naturally.)
Although, fun story! I tried to force my way through Super Singles with the legal half of an old OU team I used (my old team was Swampert/Jirachi/Shaymin/Scizor/Heatran/Tyranitar - later found out the 'Tar was illegal and Rachi/Shaymin are banned, so the other three.) Yes, I was setting up Stealth Rocks occasionally, but more often than not, it was just hit with MixPert. So naturally, I ran into a Water team that should have shredded me. Something along the lines of:

Feraligatr uses Earthquake, I use Earthquake.
Feraligatr uses Earthquake, I use Earthquake. (He activates Sitrus Berry)
Feraligatr uses Earthquake, I miss with Earthquake.
Feraligatr uses Earthquake, I miss with Earthquake.
Feraligatr KOs Swampert with Earthquake.
Scizor comes in and U-Turns for the kill - Feraligatr is apparently faster and hits with an Aqua Tail before going.
Switch to Heatran (a.k.a. Dead weight against this team) and he switches in Poliwrath. Try to HP Grass, he Waterfalls first and kills.
Switch Scizor back in, hit with Bullet Punch to kill. (Not risking that speed going against me again...)
So he sends out? EMBOAR. :v
I use Superpower, hoping I can get some decent damage in. Does about 70%? The Emboar... Curses.
OH WOW. SUPERPOWER SUPERPOWER KILL KILL AHAHA :D

I was so needlessly happy about it, only to lose about two fights later.

So yeah, now I'm breeding for VGC (now that it has a set date over here) and hopefully I'll have a good doubles team from that for when I get back to-- oh dear I'm gonna have to haxway in order to get my VGC items arrrrgh ;_;
