double baked potatoes are perfect with a medium well steak! really I've only eaten steak when going to kelsey's steak house, and there's good bread with honey butter or some shit, but i don't really like honey. juicy steak get out of here well done whores

Pfft cutlery.
Bare hands is the way to do it, I'm not pissing around trying to cut meat off the t-bone with a clumsy old knife, it's much moe practical to shave it all off with your teeth. :p

This is correct. Nothing beats eating a steak with your hands. Medium well is the best.

Depends on the cut:

Rump: medium rare
Sirloin/t-bone: rare/medium rare depending on maturity, more mature = rarer
Fillet: rare

this except i prefer my tbone medium rare because i have this idea about how the extra fat in it makes it better if it cooks longer. (im a pretend chef)

I remember my dad used to make this sauce for steak with green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, and garlic and it was amazing. Probably the best thing I've ever had on steak.

the best thing i've ever had on steak was another steak tbh

here is a low quality picture of a steak i cooked recently

you can see the myoglobin on the bottom of the plate. it's not blood it's myoglobin and it turns brown when cooked which is why people think it's blood

Mmmm, I sure love steaks.
Black Pepper Sauce or Barbecue it the best sauce to have on them, and medium rare is the best.

No contest.

well done is the best. i dont know how you all can say its dry, do you people usually throw your steaks outside in the sun for a while after you cook em?

oh and montreal steak spice, fuck franks hot sauce, i put that shit on everything.

Medium-rare or medium, as long as when I cut into my steak and it isn't cold I'm happy.

Sirloin marinated in teriyaki all day is the way to go; however, plain or even bacon wrapped are also great ways to prepare a steak.

Oh, this discussion again?

Obviously my preference is medium rare, sometimes I like it rare even but medium well and above is just too dry for me.

And yes, if the steak is of relatively high quality and seasoned properly, there is no need to eat it with any kind of sauce.

Also surprised that AvatarST and thunda haven't expressed their strong opinions here yet.

I've had some pretty nice medium well steaks in my time. As long as it isn't overdone and you end up with a piece of leather, that's where it's at for me.

I'm going to hop on the "no sauce if the steak is good" bandwagon too. Although there was a post somewhere in here about eating a steak with some proper thick chips. Whoever said that was right on the mark, there are few things better. :)

sauce on steak is bad. You want a nice peppercorn crust and some lemon and herb butter on a sizzling medium rare NY strip. Now THAT is mealtime perfection.
