Bummer's Art Shack

A fellow pokémon artist and friendly neighborhood nemesis recently launched his own site for his comics, with most of the strips being about pokemon, so I felt that remaking one of my favorite strips of his would not only serve as plug for his site, but also as a homage.

In retrospect I should have switched places with Butterfree and Rattata in the latter panels imo, but it works like this too.
 
the face in the last panel is fantastic.

(inb4 butterfree's tackle can't miss under normal conditions due to compoundeyes)
 
I'm going to assume it's a Gen I Butterfree because of how the trainer is dressed - the badge on the cap didn't go away until Gen III Red. :P
 
New strip, with uncolored outlines and potentially unfinished backgrounds and lines, but otherwise it's close to completion.

I like the title I picked for this one, too. I rarely have time or preparation to work out one which works well.

That discussion pretty much exploded onto that comic's page whenever it got started. Technically they're all right, but that's besides the point.
 
Haha, now that I look at it, I do wonder why it was such a big deal in the game that you NEED a badge to use the HMs.

It's just as it says: Shiftry plots something nasty, and Medicham gets to see it. This is just a play on words though, as Nasty Plot heightens Sp. Atk, while Mind Reader allows a definite hit the turn after (it's not even a psychic move).

It concerns me that there are probably people for whom this explanation is necessary...

Good work, Medicham's face is golden.
 
OH man, that face! That is priceless! Reminds me of the face that medicham has in pokemon dungeon.

These are hilarious. The butterfree comic was awesome{I always think of the pokemon charging into a wall or nearby tree when "missing" a sleeping pokemon, lol.}

The medicham's face was humorous as well.

Your art gives a lot of personality to the characters. D:

Thank you, I generally don't like comic who keep recycling expressions or who aren't too expressive, so knowing that I'm not among them is reassuring!

It is. I'd like to remove the "Guest" stamp all non-Smackjeeves visitors get, and to enable replies directly below the comment you want to respond to. I've tried looking around, but it seems like I need to change host site altogether if I want something more convenient, or have a different method to become notified when new comments are made.
