Just got a 6-battle win streak, and only one of those six was a newbie! I'm unsure of whether to go on or wait 'till tomorrow and refresh my brain.
 
26-4-3 now. 1662 as of 3 or 4 wins ago.

All three disconnects I had were battles that I was clearly going to win. Two happened right as I KO'd their last poke, and the other was a freeze induced rage quit.

All three losses I got today were against powerful trainers from Japan. Their wins highlighted a particular weakness in my team.

One of the losses was a really interesting match where I was at a slight type disadvantage throughout. I almost had had a long-shot comeback that would have deserved a rage quit from the opponent. I hit two Sheer Colds in a row, and would have gotten a shot at a third if it hadn't been for Bullet Punch.

Overall, great practice for VGC. Something more needs to be done about the intentional disconnecting though. What kind of idiot rage quits because they can't pokemon hard enough?

I really don't think calling people out as "Ash" is working. I think a lot of people just use it as a name based on the Anime, not as it's their name. I've faced about 6 trainers with this name, some DCing, some not. But, tracking who is who is nigh on impossible.

Also, I think i'm getting some luck in finishing all of my battles. The ones that have dc'd seems to have an itchy trigger finger on it though. One bit of luck, and they're gone. Still much lower than autumn though.

The likelihood of another Ash having the same Pokes diminishes quite a bit. Still...disappointing he would d/c; he looked like a capable battler.

Seems like the ratings are updating normally now. Fell down quite a bit from a few quick losses.

Do not like Turn 1 Scarf Rock Slide flinches. Apparantly they screw me over so badly that I go on to lose the battle immediately after since I can't get over that loss
 
I lost a few in a row mostly to Pokemon yesterday and was enjoying that seemingly the lower rating or lower DC rate or something was giving me opponents that weren't DCing today after like 7 or 8 good games in a row afterward, but back where I expect from these events with a 1750 Korean and 1850 Japanese DCing as their last Pokemon died back to back.

The Japanese guy was particularly funny because I'd been making fun of him all game to skarm because he was making really poor decisions that were leading to easy kills(or earlier in the game, that would have led to easy kills if I hadn't been playing to his rating). I'd been pretty much 100% that he was a DCer and then sure enough as the game ended there he went. He's gotta be doing it a ton to have gotten to that high of a rating with his skills, can't imagine how he thinks it's going to matter when the standings come out... people who do that sort of thing blow my mind.
 
Urgh, at a family thing and thought I could get some Pokemon in to kill the time but my cousins' WiFi is so bad I just disconnected on 3 players at the beginning of the battle. Hope the game doesn't start pairing me up against DCers as a result.

Almost lost to a 13xx player after they got a critical first turn crit but was able to pull it off. They then got matched up with me the game after and DCed right away :P

Next dude DCed goddammit.
 
Ok so my internet went out on a battle I was clearly losing, and I feel really bad...this is the second time it has happened. Last time I was winning, so I didn't feel really that bad, but this one I was clearly going to get beat. Think 2 DCs are going to screw me for rating? I haven't DCed on anyone intentionally. Just really nervous :/....and kind of embarassed.
 
Almost lost to a huge flinch that killed my tyranitar, and left Garchomp against two enemies. He then proceeded to earthquake his own tyranitar, knocking it out, and leaving me in the red, while I went in for the KO. Then he d/ced. Sigh.

Up at 1805+ (was my rating before winning one more game). Hoping to reach 1900 by the end of the tourney

Not a good night. Between bad luck, bad matchups and not being at the top of my game, I drop 100 points. The disconnectors aren't helping either. Hopefully I can recover it back on my final day.
 
Sunday, Yay! Having a string of excellent games after a terrible loss and 5 d/cers. Already won another 7 matches, with a bit of luck, about to win a second.
...Just won it right now!

Lost to a a really good Japanese person 1-0 yesterday which ended in his Metagross vs. my Cresselia. He hit all 12/12 Meteor Mashes with 1 Attack boost, and was paralyzed the entire time. Oh well, 1937. Trying to do a bit of laddering to get to 1950 today, then I'm done.

EDIT: lol, an 1850+ Japanese player with the name of "-----" disconnected against me after I played the game perfectly and was winning 4-1... and just when I thought I'd get some more points. I just got paired with someone named "?????," I wonder if this is like his brother or something :3
 
I wish I could change my Togekiss' EV spread, I want to make it so that it can OHKO Hitmontop after -1. 26 wins and 4 losses with 1719 rating,long way to go especially with all these really low rating people.
 
Just had a great battle against a Japanese player whose name is HAOsomething, his rating was 176x. I'll definitely upload that battle. I'd never seen a Life Orb Ludicolo before that haha.
 
This morning, I have played 8 battles. 2 have counted. I'm destined to never get above 1900 it seems. It's getting beyond a joke now, that's for sure. Seems like people are clinging on until the end. I did manage one great battle though. It actually had some thoughtful play, and good prediction. Will edit in the number later.

Hope everyone else has a better run than me this morning. It seems to have everchanging phases of DC madness, and consistent battling until the end. I might play again later, when some US players are on, but for now, I'm out.
 
Wow! Good Job everyone. Good Showing for Smogon. Also, I see some people are so dedicated, they stayed up all night.
I will be playing a few battles today, but not too many.

I definitely won't be catching up to many here as my team:goatee is at around 1600 though I've recorded many many matches and intend to post on youtube including ones with Enfusion(w) and skarm(l). Intriguingly my team:ee alias the (un)friendly team is at around 1700 with fewer matches though some really entertaining ones including the match I had with Tombstoner.
 
I'm mad because I haven't played many matches and probably won't be able to this week at all :(

But just a question: It's better to forfeit and lose 3-1 instead of losing 3-0 right? In terms of rating loss? I just played a really awesome rain team which I'll post later (and it takes a lot to make me praise rain)
