the defeat of europe
Also it's kind of on the back of my mind with the tournament going on, but kinda excited for Dominion. Could stand to improve my summoners rift/standard moba skills pretty significantly still, so I hope it isn't out TOO soon, but it looks fun. I know a lot of moba vets are a little worried about it being new and different and probably not as competitively sound, but I think it's being billed as a just-for-fun type game mode enough that things will work out for everyone. Most of the people playing it have seemed pleasantly surprised but i'm sure they know they better say that if they know what's good for them, too, so trying to take that with a grain of salt. Also, kind of curious about balance issues the small skirmish based gameplay will cause that will carry over in summoners rift(which scares me as a WoW vet since they screwed up pve for pvp and vice versa and awful lot), though the riot guy on the stream evaded that pretty well by saying the scenarios in dominion occur in summoners rift anyway, just left often.
Speaking of being a WoW vet I have to admit i'm pretty pleased with the differences between Dominion and the clearly connected Arathi Basin(even without saying "there's no fucking cliffs"). I enjoy that you need to have control of more points than the opposition to be scoring since it was always kind of lame when one team racked up an early lead and could then just turtle at one or two nodes and squeak out a win... there was a massive like 340-80ish choke where the 340 lost on one of the streamed matches which is kind of cool since you have to actually close it out. Point system is interesting as far as gauging individuals too, KD was a terrible form of evaluation in AB since it makes sense to stall and die a lot and random kills don't directly contribute(but it looked like they do some here?) much. Not that it matters much anyway since much like KDA I care just a LITTLE more about my nexus hp's score than Rumbles ecockometer.
