League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

I feel like ever since the "fix" Cass's Q sometimes doesn't do damage even when the enemy champ is partially on top of it. You really have to get it right in the middle. It had absurd AoE before, and I wouldn't want to go back to that, but I think it's a -bit- too small now. I still land it most of the time, and I still have success with Cass, but it's by far the most unforgiving skill shot of any champ I've played.

Just had a bunch of troll premade 3v3s which involved ad janna, ad karthus, tank shaco, etc., etc. The funny thing was that we won most of them.
 
I'm a couple days (and a couple pages) late, but I just played Leona for the first time the other day and I have to say I'm impressed. There aren't many tanks I'm good with that I also enjoy playing as, but she's certainly one of them. Her natural combos are great, and her W is amazing both in teamfights and in 1 on 1 situations. If my teammates weren't bat shit retarded (I made a new account because I haven't played in months :x) I probably would have had a lot more assists rather than carrying them myself (which was sad).

Still a couple of the last few champions I haven't gotten to play against/with; Skarner and Wukong look interesting.
 
his most spammable move (in fact the only spammable move) is his parrrrrley which is on a 5 second cooldown so you are really not taking advantage of the sheen proc (as much as a champion using Triforce SHOULD be taking advantage of it).

the phage proc is meaningless because grog soaked blade is already an excellent slow, and the 250 health that you get, when combined with warmogs, is equal to like 8% more health which is so insignificant it's laughable.

So what you're getting is 30 AD, 12% movespeed and some crit/AS, which for the ridiculous price of 4000 gold, is absolutely crazy.

You should be putting Phantom Dancer in that slot. You get more movespeed, better DPS stats... all for losing out on 250 health and a slow proc that you weren't noticing, or just plain wasn't happening AND 1200 MORE GOLD BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T WASTE IT ON THE MOST EXPENSIVE ITEM IN THE GAME.
 
i'm a little skeptical that sheen isn't useful on gangplank with him being so parlay centric and parlay applying it and all
 
ITT LonelyNoob doesn't realize Parrrley applies the very Sheen proc it causes because it applies on-hit effects.
 
The Sheen Proc doesn't come until after you cast the move. Which means the first parley procs the effect, but doesn't use it. Your second parley (or an auto attack) consumes the proc. But if your second parley consumes the proc, then it doesn't proc the effect again, because of the internal cooldown... so it's kind of a waste.
 
I've been playing a lot of Soraka lately but I am very confused on how I should focus her now. I always go duo bot but I am not sure if I should babysit or play really aggressive with her at early stages of game. She pushes hard and dishes out good damage early game ever since recent patch but I am not sure how beneficial it'll be rather than just let my partner get the farm while I just support. I rarely get chances to solomid/top so what do you guys think?

EDIT: Holy crap I just got matched with level 6 and a level 7 summoner against an all 30's team for 3v3 how the heck does that make sense

wrong

the sheen proc activates as you cast the skill, the damage bonus takes effect when the shot actually hits. so part of the internal cooldown ticks down as the projectile travels

try it out before you make comments like this...the triforce proc applies every single parrrley unless the internal cooldown is ticking down because you casted any of your three other skills...the damage proc also won't activate if for some freak reason you autoattack before the parrrley bullet actually hits the target

it's the same as rabid bite and siphoning strike, exception being with those you have a choice in when to activate the proc

i will agree that phage first is very situational though, i'd get sheen or hog first always
 
2 Phantom Dancers is pointless IMO. Woods has a pretty solid build except that I would add a Gaurdian Angel late-mid if possible, cause shit happens you know.

Sell Gaurdian Angel when passive is down then buy Frozen Mallet or Yoo's and then buy back Gaurdian Angel when passive is back up.
 
Right now im running Ryze going to a early game sheen into a archmages staff ass soon as possible. Doing well but I need a good rune setup.

please don't

ryze is a mana caster now. he has little to no use for AP when his Q and W (main skills) scale better off of max mana.

i mean i guess an early tear is fine but catalyst is great too. most people are starting out sapphire crystal into tear/cata but you should never get AA as your first item because of how minimally beneficial it is.

the general build for most ryze players now is
sapphire
boots
tear+cata
rod of ages
catalyst/glacial shroud
banshee's veil/frozen heart
frozen heart/banshee's veil
void staff
archangel's staff/manamune

basically it turns him into a DPS mage who's quite tanky yet deals a lot of damage.

manamune is actually quite viable although most people opt for the AA

re: gangplank - the sheen proc does apply on the first Parrrley you use; listen to Thorns

if i were to build gangplank i'd probably go something like:
cloth armor/vamp scepter
boots
wriggles
phage
triforce
atma's
warmog's
FoN or banshee's veil

i guess if you want a more offensive GP then build ghostblade, last whisper, infinity edge, etc, but atmog's is really good

personally i LIKE the phage over sheen because it helps a lot for mid-game ganks
 
Just got the news that Riot shut down the Mac beta the other day. LOLOLOL HE PLAYS ON A MAC

They just stabbed a significant (not necessarily large, but significant) number of their clients in the back. Apparently the mac version wasn't "up to standards" of the PC version, so they removed it entirely.

Good thing DotA 2 is coming out soon!
 
coding for mac isn't worth it...all they got was angry support tickets, better to get the rage in one go than over a period of x wasted months

anyway what might be happening soon is the inaugural smogon 5v5 match

express your interest by posting here using this template if you can. and i'll work out the details. ideally i won't be playing, instead i might commentate the game if someone wants to send me the replay, i'll upload it and we can all have a laugh later

don't know how many level 30 summoners there are here, obviously we could draw from the pool of sub-30 players. i'll probably choose the teams to balance out the better players unless you guys want to pick your own teams
