League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

Yeah, I used CV for the first time a week or so ago. I meant to ask yall if you thought the CD was OP. It is such an awesome ss. They'd be better off just taking flash out than nerfing it how they did. I hate when things seem so simple to players (flash can only be used if you haven't taken damage) but designers over think it.

Shyvana's a fine jungler, but I think her true place is solo top. I run flash/exhaust and usually start cloth+5pots. I have not lost top lane to anyone yet and I've gone against Garen, Irelia, Zilean, Gangplank, Vayne, Graves (Hope AD top doesn't become common because they could give Shy some trouble though I doubt they can outright deny her, specifically Vayne and Graves), Lee Sin, Nasus, Yorick, Tryndamere.

I think I've gotten a kill against every single one except the Zilean, as well as out CSing and taking down their tower before mine goes down. If you overextend even a little bit in lane, a Jungler with CC and Shyvana's high damage practically guarantees a kill.

I start off with Q but max W first. When someone tries to last hit you just AA->q->w, from my experience Shyvana just outdamages everyone early game. Once you get boots and wriggles you can completely dominate your lane if you weren't already.

First item Warmog's OP

Wow, nerfing the numbers on flash again. Take a hint, Riot, blink is fundamentally an insanely powerful ability and letting just anyone have it regardless of skillset is overpowering. You NEED to rework it other than just going "Oh everyone's running it NERF IT AGAIN" because people will just switch to Ghost until it becomes worse than Flash (or until Heal/Cleanse actually become superior escape mechanisms...).

Also, I thought "Hurr the ability has a 10 minute cooldown so it's balanced" was a basic example of "bad game design," since it creates incredibly binary situations where if it's up you win if it's not you lose, since by nature of having such a long cooldown it's an incredibly powerful game changing effect.

Edit: Also flashing over walls is gonna be even stupider because their pathing or whatever is so picky about it so expect more flash fails.

Double Edit: Also making Flash work like Blink Dagger/Portal Key (if you took damage from heroes in the last x seconds you can't use it, but it has a relatively short cooldown) would remove the need to give every fucking melee hero a gap closer, as they could use Flash for that purpose.

I think I'm going to post this on GD.

Dude, when many characters already take Ghost over Flash in many cases, a reduced range and increased CD means that you will be able to escape significantly fewer times per game with Flash than with Ghost, and Flash requires that your positioning be better as well, as it wily be more beneficial than Ghost in a situation where you can jump over a wall, and with a decreased range, that means that there is a significant chance that you will not be able to manage that, therefore a good percentage of the time you will be better off having Flash over Ghost and that's not even considering how much more often Ghost will be available to you than Flash. I think this will have a pronounced effect on Flash usage if it is done properly.

The only thing is I can't imagine that she could be nearly as damaging as another champ who wants to build Triforce Atmogs. She has a stun lock, but she just does less damage, and has Amumu syndrome, where she needs to land Zenith Blade to start anything, and Zenith Blade is not hard to dodge at all. That and 170 AD is nothing

I'm sorry to hear that you can't land skillshots, but after maining Urgot and Blitzcrank for half a year it is as a matter of fact very hard to dodge my Zenith Blades. 170 AD is more than decent when you are already running Triforce AND doing massive AOE magic damage, plus about 10 sunlight procs per battle. The point to going AD Leona over pure tank or AP (atrocious AP ratios besides) is that her cooldowns are awful and they will always be awful, but with AD Leona you can 1v1 that 25 kill Udyr. And even though I brought it up, you forget that Leona can take a lot more damage than other champs with Atmogs.

Overall I like the Summoner Spell changes, pretty much everything I wanted is happening but Flash could have been handled better.

I agree that everything else was handled well, but I'm really worried that if flash gets nerfed too hard the meta might head towards a conservative poke-fest. Although flash can be used defensively (and is overpowered in that respect) it also promotes offensive gameplay; not only can you use flash to instantly engage, you can afford to more play more offensively when you have it off cool down, because if you get caught you can "ace in the hole" back out (I'm sure this is news to no one). I'm worried that if flash gets hit too hard then team fights move towards massive sustain based slugfests of poke back and forth, because without the utility of flash no one wants to risk a full engage, either because they can't reach their target in time without the instant blink of flash offensively, or because they can't risk attempting to play aggressively without the fall back of a flash to escape. For all of flash's faults, it for sure is the summoner spell that most promotes agressive play.

Of course, this is all speculation, and they might handle it well (though increasing the cool down time without making it useless also brings its own negatives, where everyone plays ultra conservative until flash is up and team fights are decided by which champs have flash up in the heat of the moment). Only time will tell, but I'm nervous.

EDIT: Just as an afterthought, if Heal is buffed to levels of competitive viability then that would even more promote a metagame where 2 teams attempt to poke and sustain through a war of attrition.

A nice way to make flash more offensively minded would be to have it only work by targeting enemies and flashing towards them. That way it couldn't be used to blink backwards and there would be no need to nerf it all all.

Played support Soraka for the first time just now. Went 2-5-16 and was a HUGE reason my team won. Their Olaf was praising me because I stopped quite a few of his ganks with CV. I laned with Caitlyn against Graves and Janna and we got first blood. Cait was 6-1 by the end of the laning phase and she only died because she turret dove while my cure was on cd. Once we got to the teamfight stage Cait went OFF and was just destroying people. And Soraka is this good after they nerfed all the healers?

Don't really know how to build her though. Just went Philo, Kage, HoG into Rylai's and then they surrendered. Also, maxed W-> E-> Q. Is that right?

Urgot...dat AOE skillshot lol. Seriously, how often do you really just spam non-autolocked Q? Ummm, real quick wtf is that "Sorry you can't land skillshots" shit? Wtf. I do not play Leona, my point is that skillshots, especially when they are your ONLY way of initiating a fight (as a tank) outside of your ult are not consistent enough to be relied upon, especially when the range is a WHOPPING 700, and not incredibly fast. Not insulting you, just saying that Leona is outclassed by other classes. I am hardly the only one who shares this opinion. Real quick let's think about how often Leona and Amumu, the two most skillshot-oriented tanks are used in competitive play...HMM
Not insulting your play, just pointing out Leona's obvious flaws.

Yeah let's just stop and think about how often Amumu is used in competitive play lol

I don't care who shares your opinion because your opinion is shit.

How often do I spam non-autolocked Q? How about all the time? It makes up for his incredibly slow missile speed when it comes to last hitting, and you only use your E to harass and poke. In any real fight, whether team or dueling, Q is your damage dealer and you just save E for when players try to run away. But the point is and you obviously don't play Urgot but it's a hard AEO skillshot to land. Same with Blitz's Q. If you can consistently land Blitz's Q in fights, you can land Zenith Blade. Hell, I don't even open up with Zenith most of the time which shows what you know, it's better used to catch people when they run away.

I realize Leona was overlooked when she came out. So was Lee Sin. I said she was overlooked back then too. Now I'm thinking outside the box and I'm having success with it. Metagames constantly change and basing your play entirely off of hearsay is retarded.

"Amumu and Leona aren't played because they have skillshots". Really now, people stopped playing Amumu competitively because they got worse at skillshots? I know you are only level 12, but only half a year ago Amumu was one of the most picked junglers in the game. So were Warwick and Nunu, but those two got nerfed and Amumu didn't. Well I'm glad you cracked the case sherlock. People stopped playing Amumu because the best players in the game got worse at skillshots.

there is such thing as elo hell you idiots...its where i am. ive played 262 games this season. do you know what my record is? 131-131 cause no matter what in elo hell theres a 50% chance you will get a team with a complete retard on it.and i dont suck ass rofl ill prove it!

the chance for you getting a complete retard on your team is 100%

"elo hell" means you're stuck in an elo that you're not good enough to rise out of. i suggest practicing in normal queue.

thats not what it means at all, the point is i need help getting out of it... "practice normal queue" doesnt help out in any way shape or form. you need a team or help from another good user to get you out. enough with the blatant "your not good enough" posts as i stated before im good and i know im good, i just had a bad case of leaving games first season and its effected my elo ever since.

Yea let me be an example guys. If you're going for good season stats do NOT leave lots of games. Protips for not leaving games:

-Schedule your game session ahead of time to avoid conflicting events
-Finish your games as fast as possible. The sooner you finish the less likely you'll have something pop up and force you to leave.
-If you get a bugsplat error, send in a report. Not only do they read your reports and exempt a ban, they will also give free RP if you found something important!

lets get this shit started

>being in "elo hell"
>thinking you dont just belong there
>getting bugsplat errors
>having a huge sample size and still complaining that you dont belong at your ELO
>Jonnyrolo

protip: Your not making sense pookar.
What is a sample size?
I dont think I know.
I dont get bugsplats it was just a protip.
Action speaks louder than words.

I think the point is that if your ELO actually sinks significantly lower than where it should be, you'd likely be high enough above the other 9 players in skill to win.

What is the point in continuing that conversation, it's just bringing the actual topic down.....

In other news, I bought Taric because I like tanks and I very much like support. But I am horribly unimpressed with him. Not only does he have some of the stupidest lines (they all seem to be [insert name of gemstone] + [insert adverb]), but he just didn't seem to be too good outside of a small heal and an ok stun. Or maybe I just used him incorrectly?
