League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

All that tells me is that the people you play with are super obvious with ganks, which means all of nothing when you consider how easy it is for Fiddles to gank you if you aren't aware that he is coming, which cannot be said for every jungler

It costs approximately 300 gold to almost completely nullify almost any jungler's ganks. Four river wards.

Phiddlesticks, you should play Fiddlesticks to live up to your name...

lol so many wards, but the river isn't the only route to get a gank, and spending a champion kill's worth of gold in every lane just to avoid an eventuality that may never occur, and a champion kill's worth of gold in every lane that can be disabled or destroyed, and only lasts 3 minutes is not a good idea

Not every gank works. This is true with every jungler at every ELO. The threat of ganking is an insurance policy that stops your lanes from being rolled over. And sometimes, its good enough just to make someone waste their Flash so they can be killed later. I'm just echoing what the best players in the game talk about in their video guides, and this is how they've played at tournaments.

Speaking of, at Gamescom Fiddlesticks was most effective against the European teams who weren't used to jungle Fiddle. When the two American teams played, Fiddlesticks was not as effective as Amumu was in earlier games. But even among the European teams, they adapted to Fiddlesticks by the end of the tournament (and in one case by the end of the game! Ashe arrow stopped a Fiddle ult dead and turned a game around). Fiddle is by no means broken or OP, he's just a champion that hasn't been used in a long time and now people are realizing he is good. They will adjust. Amumu is the only true tank that can jungle well, and so is rightly top tier.

He means 4 wards between the entire team, and it is always good idea. 4 river wards should be up at all times. It's 75 gold every 3 minutes, that's 3-4 creep kills in exchange for map awareness and safety. Those 4 wards also cover baron, dragon and the main entrances to both jungles if you know where to place them.

thats kinda why i use PROFESSORLABCOAT as my LoL name, so people dont tell me stuff like this every single game

i dont like playing as fiddlesticks, plain and simple
Oh shit, was it a mistake to make my LoL name BESTLOLPLAYEREVEREXPERTATEVERYTHINGIFIEVERDIEEVERPLEASEMOCKMERELENTLESSLY ?

So...what's the deal with Soraka now? I played her a little bit before the recent changes, but now I have no idea if she's better or worse, and why that is. and what's the best build on her? Still Support, with a greater focus on Starcall? Or should she go with mostly AP and CDR?

Soraka is a lot like Nidalee now. She's not an AP carry, she's an AP that is hard to kill, lanes well, and has a heal that is good for team fights. I think they basically want all old supports to play like Nidalee. They want supports that can lane instead of making bot boring, and whose heals only really matter come team fight stage. As a fan of support and Nidalee, I'm not opposed to this.

Interestingly, when the meta shifts as a result we could see more Karma.

They can change support all they like, fact is, there's only 4 lanes if you include jungling and 5 players on a team. Nobody wants to share their CS and supports are the way around that because they serve a role on the team that isn't reliant on their damage output.
In short, can't lane because there isn't enough lanes. Someone has to play passive and build GP5.

Which they can still do, but the problem was that range + support was a such a tight combo that anything else was just gonna get dominated. If successful, these changes open up bottom lane to all sorts of 2-man combos. While range + support was great because defensively they were allowed to free farm, you can now do things like double bruiser to offensively dominate a lane, and we could even see the return of true tanks (I myself am experimenting with pairing Leona on bot). There's always gonna be one guy who can GP5, like Leona as mentioned or bruisers like Jarvan.

They should change the way gold is given. Maybe make it so that both players in a certain range split the gold when either player gets a last hit. Make it so they both get 75% of the normal amount. This way duo lanes won't get as much gold as a solo lane but it will be better for the team as it increases the total amount of gold the team gets since bot lane will have 150% the gold of mid and top.

It has been confirmed. vonFielder is a noob, he uses Leona

I think that... I may buy Skarner with IP of course. After using him during this free week I at first thought he was trash but of course I was building him wrong. I tried AD carry Triforce/Mallet/Atmas, AP carry with lichbane/Nashors/etc, and hybrid. None did worth a shit so then logically.. build him overly-tanky with some attack speed. And this is the build I got...

3 MoveSpeed Quints, 9 Attack Speed Marks, 9 Defense Seals, 9 Magic Resist Seals.

9 Offenense up to Magic Pen
20-21 Defense
0-1 utility for Ghost

Build would go as...

Merc Treads
Stinger
Wits End <--> Thornmail
Spell Vamp
More defensive shit to suit the situation

Generally, I was the initiator being an ult whore. Snaging basically anyone, good luck snagging that AD range other the tank and letting them get nuked. Afterwords, go harass thier AD carries.

If you bought him try it out.

some of my friends are playing this, i know how it works now. Things is, should i consider playing this? Or is it too timeabsorbing, cause when i have some free time i think i prefer smogon...

Leona used to be much worse

No, the buff was very unnecessary. People asked for a female true tank for years and we finally got one right after true tanks fell out of style. Leona was ignored for the same reason you (well, players who aren't level 12) never see Rammus and Shen anymore, even though those were the top bans before Dreamhack.

My prediction for the metagame now is that we won't return to a time when true tanks were mandatory, but we'll see GP5 tanks in bot as an option. Since Leona fucks up lanes harder than Rammus, Shen, and Malphite combined, she's really a good pick now if you run her with a bruiser. So if you want someone other than Amumu in the jungle or he's banned/picked, Leona is a damn good substitute for one of the best champs in the game.

I was messing around with 0ish CS Leona with the rune setup I use for 0ish CS Alistar last night(AD/Armor/MR/Avarice) with a Trynd in my lane, was surprised at how well it probably would have worked if I'd have even the slightest idea what I was doing the first 10 minutes or so(I was gone for a decent part of her release and haven't played her on her free weeks so I don't have much experience with or against her so there was a learning curve), kept coming right on the edge of kills after that but we were a little behind the farm 8-ball because I'd been too aggressive early trying to figure out what Leona could do. Could definitely see that being effective on some level but she played a lot like Alistar light in that environment... Her stun is worse than Pulverize and her approach slow thing is worse than Headbutt. Her W makes her a slightly more reliable tank than Alistar who needs his Ult, but the now-basically-best-in-game sustain on Triumphant Roar makes it tough for me to imagine ever using Leona in a serious game unless Alistar was banned or on the other team. I could see her being a decent substitute for someone like Taric in some lane comps, though. I need to figure out better runes for next time I play her too probably, what I do with Alistar is probably pretty suboptimal for her but all the guides intend on her actually getting a decent bit of farm which isn't a situation I can give her, so I'm a little hesitant to follow rune/item advice from them. I think I just went Philos HOG Mercs Treads or something, though the Faerie Charm start I normally do with supports isn't as good on her since she never runs out of mana early anyway so I'm kinda stumped.

Leona's best defense is also her best offense. I don't think there's any ability in the game that should be leveled first as obviously as her W. In lane, it means that she can be basically untouchable while also dealing very good damage.

Alistar should be used over her if you favor a more defensive lane, because he's still a support character. Leona on the other hand just wrecks offensively with any sort of help. I don't see how her gap closer is worse than Alistars unless Alistar is ganking. A skillshot that passes over minions is a rare boon! All the people who have to hide behind minions when I play Blitz, now they just plain have to keep away from me at all times.

As for runes and items, I go Magic Pen marks, Armor seals, MR Glyphs, and Health quints. Items are standard tanking, Sunfire, Force of Nature, usually don't end up getting more than this per game but the W still brings my defensive stats up to 200 in team fights. I do start with Philo, Hog, Merc Treads. But I get the health regen component first instead of a faerie charm as it is really easy to manage her mana.

Well, I'd differ with you on seals (dodge) and quints (HP regen or movespeed), but I do agree that Leona's massively underrated. A lot of CC, I personally think we'll see more of her at high ELO if supports fall out of favour like Riot intended.

In unrelated news, why do people think rushed attack speed Ashe is good? How often are you going to get into a rundown where you can keep autoattacking compared to a situation where you turn a 1v1 around because of a crit or sustained AD?

Leona was always just not the best as a laner, and didn't scale well into late game, so she became not much of a threat, so teams could really ignore her somewhat. It might not have been sorely needed, but it definitely helped to make her usable in more team comps and overall a bigger threat.
