League of Legends: Let's Talk About uhhh??

Well, the one game I've played against an Ahri, I managed to avoid getting hit by her charm all but one time, but it did get me killed really fast. lol

Imagine her leashing, depending on how her taunt affects creeps.

Elo Hell is not an Elo range, Elo Hell is when a player is in an Elo where he cannot view any games played as fun.

Elo Hell as JohnnyRolo complains about, doesn't exist.

yes in that sense it exists but "being stuck at 900 elo qq" doesnt exist

i have like 12 games play and im barely over 12 and its stupid the games i play well, i usually lose, but games where im nonexistant i win.. there was only 1 exception i think and it was when i was 6/3 with 2 turret deaths when other team ragequit at first blood

A POLL

Will be buying new AD carry with dodge rune refund, who's the easiest to pick up and carry with? I'm in triple digit ELOs, Ashe really didn't work out for me there.

Vayne. Lose your lane, carry hard. Win your lane, carry harder. Not the easiest to learn because she's very positioning based but has the highest reward.

aaaaaaaaa monkey is so much fun. haven't figured out the best build for him yet, but the games where i go frozen mallet + defensive items over trinity force i tend to do better in.

I like Volibear. He seems to have Teemo's passive global taunt, though. Played two games with him on Dominion and multiple times their whole team would burst me down and chase me when I ran all while being destroyed by my teammates or while my team captured points.

KogMaw_Splash_3.jpg

Kog Maw, purely because of the Butterfly skin. If you don't want to spend real money, then go with Cait or Graves, they seem easiest to me, and they deal tonnes of damage, not to mention their really good escapes.

this is my first time posting a picture, plz don't persecute me

Why are you using Ashe when you could be using Tristana, since she's free and all that jazz. Trist > Ashe.

But yeah, Vayne IMO. Carries so hard.

I think most people would agree the top tier of ADs right now is Vayne Tristana Graves and to a lesser extent Kog'maw Caitlyn and maybe Corki. I would try not to let current balance influence your decision too much if you don't buy characters often and/or want to play something a lot to master it since power relative to other ADs is temporary.

Caitlyn is maybe the single easiest character to play in the entire game so she has that going for her and the superior range makes it easy to harass people who do stupid things in lane but I think she's probably the weakest of the AD carries I've just mentioned when no one is doing anything stupid and feeding. Graves is almost equally easy during the laning phase in spite of his short range but is more vulnerable to harass and has to be played a little better later in the game since he doesn't get to attack from as safe of a range and his W is a little less intuitive than most skills, but has among the highest early game damage of all ADs and is easy to avoid falling behind on CS with.

However, if you're just buying an AD out of the blue without knowing if you like them much or not from their free weeks I would strongly suggest picking Vayne(only with RP before Monday while she's cheap), Tristana, and possibly Corki up first since there's a lot less of a time investment there(though only half off in Corki's case). Vayne is probably the best AD in the game right now: she's above average in every aspect of the game, carries the hardest late game, and is one of the best(probably the best now, actually) anti-tank characters in the game. She's not the easiest character in the game to pick up but the reward is the highest there and she's been fantastic almost since she came out so she's ever a safe investment or due to get knocked down a bit depending on your perspective, I guess. She's 6300 atm but you can get her for like a little over 2 bucks right now since she's 75% off this weekend. I think after Vayne and Graves I'd say the next strongest AD right now is Tristana, who you can conveniently get for free by liking LoL on Facebook and try her out(but don't use the free skin or I'll judge you like a hipster). She has a really bad midgame and can get you killed if you Rocket Jump at stupid times like a certain a forum moderator I won't name but early game her ability damage is fantastic and lategame her AS steroid and range make her one of the safest and strongest lategame threats in the game. Corki is worth mentioning too and seems to be making a comeback now that some of the other ADs are getting toned down. He has a nice mix of damage and mobility and makes up for not having the super-range of someone like Tristana or Kog'maw with his Ult to still be able to do some damage from safety/finish runners.

I would not suggest Kog'maw even though he's one of my favorite characters at your ELO (or playing mostly solo queue in general, really) because he's an extremely team dependent character. Has an awesome lategame and fun range and tank killing potential but has a pretty horrific hole in escape/defense mechanisms and as such requires his team to actually protect him... something you're not likely to get at 3 digit ELO.

Ezreal and Sivir also AD carry champions in the game League of Legends but would not suggest either: Ezreal is really difficult to play relative to other AD carries and even if you play him perfectly he isn't really better than other ADs played well so the effort/power ratio sucks there. I'm not convinced Sivir will ever be in a good place but her giant Boomerang thingy sure does do hilarious damage. I enjoy owning her but wouldn't suggest her, especially since they don't seem satisfied with where she is right now. You already own Ashe so I didn't comment on her.

EDIT: OH SHIT I FORGOT MF but probably you should too

Your assessment is good, but I feel Corki is a top tier AD right now if you're good at playing him. His passive + poke and mobility is just too good, but he's pretty hard to play compared to Vayne, Cait, and Graves.

For some reason I play best with him though compared to other AD range Carries. I just don't like the feel of the others for some reason, and he isn't just right click and win, which actually makes it fun.

A bit off topic though: I ended up buying 25$ of RP for the half off Rammus skin last week, and now I don't know what to spend it on. I've been planning on waiting for a skin of another champ I love to go on sale, but I may buy champs or something with it. What would you guys suggest?

And I don't feel right playing any AP champs for some reason, except for Amumu which I don't really count because he's more of a tank/jungler. Any suggestions?

Instead of asking again why a champion who was frequently chosen at Dreamhack and has only been buffed since then sucks, I looked up the actual statistics and found out that Miss Fortune has the 3rd highest win/loss ratio (behind Vayne and Caitlyn) among ranged AD at high elo, even narrowly edging out the 4 times as popular Graves.

Only Nunu does more damage with his ult, and just like how using bushes has become popular with Nunu lately it is very easy to hit an opponent, or even the major part of an enemy team, in her ult's sweet spot. Built in boots of mobility gives massive farming potential, and her early game power is very high.

Probably going to be picking up Vayne with the dodge rune refund, am I supposed to get an IE on Vayne?

Yeah, I already own Tristana (Riot Girl skin is... ew) but just like my experience I have with Vayne figuring out when to ult is proving to be a challenge.

Dont get IE on Vayne. You can either rush BT the PD if you feel you are winning your lane significantly, or, if you feel you will need more early sustain in order to carry late game rush Wriggle's then Black Cleaver. Vayne doesnt ever get IE as she is more reliant on Attack Speed than Attack Damage.

ie is a good late game choice on vayne, black cleaver and bloodthirster are better as a first damage item on her though.

I never really understand why you bring up Dreamhack every single time Miss Fortune is brought up in this thread. I checked out the Dreamhack post-game scoresheets since this didn't seem to mesh with how I remembered the event(except for one match which won't load, but where neither team used MF at any other point in the event and thus probably didn't there either).

Here is an interesting stat: in the entire tournament of Dreamhack(about 25 games), Miss Fortune was chosen only 8 times in spite of only having real competition from Ashe, Tristana, Vayne(who was new and only really used by Chaox), and Corki, with appearance numbers being increased for all of them by a few games where 3 of the 5 of them were picked(TSM vs EG game 1 of the Top 4 match, for instance, which had Tristana, Corki, and MF picked with Vayne banned). In those 8 games, Miss Fortune lost 6 times, including all 3 of the games she was in after the group stage. In many of the group stages games she lost she was on a team that eventually finished higher than their group stage opponent (EG beat MF on both aaa and Fnatic, for instance).

MF is not as bad relative to other AD carries as she is sometimes made out to be, but she is not, nor was she during Dreamhack or after, a top tier AD option.

Tristana was picked less than Caitlyn and won only 1 game, with Cait winning 0. Other champs that happened to have low win rates are Karthus and Irelia, who have actually been nerfed since then and are still considered top picks now. Cho'Gath only won a single game and hotshot still picks him. There's so much going on in a high level tournament like this it's really misguided to look at these stats and cast her in a bad light, the fact of the matter is that the best players in the world picked her over other options (only Ashe and Corki were picked substantially more). That's why I bring up Dreamhack. She wasn't Ashe or Corki tier back then but she's only been buffed, it's unfair to act like she's some Sivir tier champ but that's how you guys go about it.

sivir is actually really really good now

not necessarily true - because of her W, she doesn't need to build last whisper so what doublelift typically does to carry his solo queue games is build a BT into a PD into infinity edge if he can afford it or a QSS before that if he needs it. his damage output is massive and he doesn't need to invest in any armor pen until his last item.

Has anyone else seen the tests going down in PBE with Ninja Tabi, Ionic Spark, Vlad, and Shen? I don't own Shen, but I use him every time he's free because he's way too much fun. And now they're thinking about giving him some amazing buffs...prepare to see more Shens if the changes are implemented.

Ninja Tabi
+25 Armor
UNIQUE Passive: Reduces the damage taken from non-turret basic attacks by 10%.
UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 2

It used to be Fizz's passive (ignore unit collision) but I guess they didn't want to do that. It also used to be +30 armor but they're still tweaking the numbers on it.

Shen
Vorpal Blade
Energy cost changed to 60 from 70/65/60/55/50
Heal piñata effect reduced to 10/16/22/28/34 from 18/26/34/42/50
Heal piñata also heals for 2% of maximum health
Shen gets the heal if he last hits with Vorpal Blade
Single target damaging spells can now also trigger Vorpal Blade instead of just attacks
Feint
Feint now grants 20/25/30/35/40 Armor while it's active
Feint duration increased to 3 from 2.5

Tides of Blood
Health cost reduced to 25/35/45/55/65 from 30/40/50/60/75
Crimson Pact
AP -> health conversion reduced to 1.4 from 1.8

Ionic Spark
Now purchasable on Summoner's Rift and Twisted Treeline
Chain lightning proc increased to 120 from 110.

Don't think the decrease in base heal was needed on Vorpal Blade, personally. It looks like my revolver Shen is now officially dead instead of me hoping it wasn't dead.
