You do realize that Lyte posted the information that made him find the ban warranted, right? The fact that his case ended up in Tribunal because he was reported in 40%+ of his games after hitting Diamond isn't Tribunal being a joke or Lyte being shady it's something this guy is doing wrong.

If he had been kindly asking "hey guys, can I play (unconventional pick here) this game? even though it's not usual I always try my best" and his team said "sure bro as long as you think it'll work" then he would not be banned or even reported. This is clearly not how he acted and I would imagine if his team said "hey can you not do that, not sure it'll work" he still instalocked it anyway.

Whine about Tribunal and CAN'T PICK ANYTHING BUT EZREAL AND WHOEVER ELSE METASHEEP CLAIM IS OP all you want but if you're actually acting like this guy was innocent as a baby about it then you're flat out retarded. You don't more than double the amount of reports you get before Diamond because you can't get demoted from Diamond because "Tribunal bad playerbase hates nonmeta," you wind up in the Tribunal because you're probably acting like a douche about your picks.

this is true. and then those case get passed along to riot. its a streamlined project that helps riot. the tribunals job is more like a jury. riot is the judge who ultimately makes the decision.
 
so I just played a 5 man queue where we had a lv17 (smurf) and the enemy team had a couple plats and....

Westrice.

he was Diana mid, I was Kat mid. hardest counter ever. but I killed westrice a couple times.

riot matchmaking op ??????????
 
It was stated that in the future, ranked MMR will 'splash' over to normal MMR to prevent that kind of stuff from happening.

Trust me, in Diamond no one will ever say "sure bro pick whatevs". They will demand you play standard issue stuff and threaten to report you if you pick something non standard.

And if you do even remotely poorly or make one mistake the game is all your fault and your teammates will spam "lol this <insert non-meta build here> gg from champ select report plz" in all chat.

But apparently this guy was just as much of a dick as everyone else so I guess that makes it ok?
 
Last season, really high ELO was laid-back. Everyone was dicking around and just having fun, like that 5 revive/teleport comp with Dyrus in solo queue or Aphromoo just being himself every day.

The problem now is that everyone in Diamond is fighting to get to Challenger, but everyone in Challenger has no incentive to try hard anymore. Diamond is obviously going to be tryhard and ruthless, but Challenger is going to be as laid-back as last season.

I had another friend who played against Westrice in a normal game recently as well lol (they were winning for a long time but eventually Westrice's team won)
 
I'm in the school library, listening to two people on /r/leagueoflegends talking about game balance.

It is taking every scrap of my will power to not start correcting them on everything they've said thus far.

I was bot lane with rockblood1 once, who is a diamond taric. He was incredibly good. I was not. He carried me through laning really really hard

Past few metagames have been AD mid/Black Cleaver (which mages hate cause AD casters generally destroy them) and Warmog's (which mages hate cause stacking flat HP counters magic damage for some reason)

Not sure what current meta is. Randuin's maybe.
 
The problem is that riot hasn't touched most ap items in quite some time (other than the ever-changing deathfire grasp), while items for other roles have received buffs, leading to the misconception that riot dislikes mages.
 
I'm not saying it's true that riot hates mages, I'm saying idiots think they do.

Also, current meta is basically hypercarry bot, tank top, carry jungler, and whatever the hell you want mid.
 
AP itemization is fine. Like vonFiedler said.

Just zed/kz mid is a popular thing right now in the pro scene. League of warmogs has been over for about a month now ever since the nerfs to it and Black Cleaver....people are now switching to randuins. I think most "AP mid" are in a pretty good spot right now. The only problems I can clearly see right now is the amount of attack speed reduction which is getting addressed anyways.

Also matchmaking is dumb, getting diamond and plat players with a level 17 on team. Whatever riot
