DWCeus gets... Hyper Beam?

Troll Freak strikes again!

Um, at least you can EV it without needing the Feathers? And it gives those of us who figured Farceus wasn't worth SRing for due to the Hall of Origin Arceus that was CERTAINLY coming something decent to SR for...

I blame Japanese 10-year-olds.

Me too. WTF? The top three are Arceus, Darkrai, and Deoxys? All three of them don't get a DW ability. I think I'm going to hit the next Japanese kid I see. I was really hoping to get a female Eevee out of this BS. Now I get a big genderless alien-deer that needs to go back to Kirin Ichiban beer cans.

When you first friend someone you can't visit their house until both people have game synced... I just did so so if you still have time left you can access my house now. Or if not you'll be able to tomorrow.

Thx. That worked.

New problem: Where do I input the passwords for Croagunk and Arceus and which font do I need to download for japanese signs?

I guess at least they picked Arceus over something like Mew or Manaphy. I'm not too bothered just as long as Ditto, Vulpix, Poliwag, Dratini, Shroomish, Cleffa, Staryu, Totodile, and all the other things I really want are eventually released in some way or other. [Edit: Not counting the things I really wanted that have already been released, of course! I'm really happy with the Nidoran line, Tangela, Slowpoke, Magikarp, Lickitung, Gligar, and Carvanha.]

BTW Jiggy, Wingull is in the Sky Stage. Ran into him last night as a matter of fact. Funny thing is, he doesn't challenge you to the Pelipper game.
Hmm, okay. I guess Wingull is even rarer than Igglybuff for me since I haven't seen one in 14-18 trips or however many it's been. Gotta get one of those as soon as I see a female one...

Where do I input the passwords for Croagunk and Arceus and which font do I need to download for japanese signs?
This page is linked in the Japanese to English dictionary thread for downloading the fonts, so hopefully it helps. Once you have it working, click this button in the bottom right to bring up a menu:

123sf0o.jpg

Then click the event dated 10-20 to 11-19 for Croagunk and the one dated 11-05 to 1-31 for Arceus.

And here I was hoping to get a ditto. ):
I'll be wifi idling for a few hours now too for those who have yet to meet me up on wifi.

@Jiggy Thx. I´m using Windows 7 and I have another problem now: Where do I set my font to japanese? Or do I need a japanese keyboard to do that? I have a german one.

Just got it. Thank Arceus for GameFreak having universal passwords (even though I wanted my starters :( )

Hopefully that didn't start my Dream World time, but I don't think it did. Thanks MWL for the password.

On a note completely unrelated to anyone else, I didn't get on yesterday because of chemistry...I'm about four days away from Sky World, though

Ok. This is getting karping ridiculous...

No rainbow for me. Zuruzukin isn't loved :(

DW Pokémon in my game... look at the Bidoof...

clonedbidoof.jpg

The SAME Bidoof in the movement board...

Seriously... What the...

Any help? PLEASE!!! ;_;

I can't go to the forest ANYMORE ;_;

Re-synching DON'T work! ;_;

I can't get Arceus. ANYTHING ;_;

F**k you, Bidoof! F**K YOU!

---

Seriously, guys. Just give me a ligth :(

F**k you, Bidoof! F**K YOU!
Bidoof is actually going 'just as planned' and fooling you with its derpy innocent look. I don't have any suggestions for what's happening and I hope it'll be solved soon, sucks to be stuck with some bug and having nil tech support.

I have no idea why they gave delibird insomnia as its dw ability when it does exactly the same as one of its other ability, vital spirit.

@Jiggy Thx. I´m using Windows 7 and I have another problem now: Where do I set my font to japanese? Or do I need a japanese keyboard to do that? I have a german one.

It's trickier than that. You can only install additional language packs if you have Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise; it's Microsoft's way of getting extra money out of their products. Somehow I managed to get East Asian language support installed, though. I have no idea how I accomplished this.

If you have Windows XP Mode (Windows 7 Professional and up), you can install Japanese support on that. Or you have old Windows XP disks, you can make your own virtual XP machine within Windows 7 with VirtualBox (google it).

No actual solution from support@pokemon.co.jp yet cos they replied the mail I sent them is garbled up.

Darn, I need a email that support japanese. lol

Forward the e-mail to omegadonut@gmail.com -- I can handle the Japanese text.

@OmegaDonut Oh well, so much for getting a free Arceus. Thx anyways. I guess we will at least be able to get these events too, when the english/european versions are out.

@that whole bug thingy: When I meet Bidoof in the forest there always is something written in red(in the right box, before the minigame screen comes up.) Could that be some kind of warning or something?

if its the one im thinking about, its a warning saying this minigame will use a berry, i think.

After being unable to access Wi-Fi for 2 weeks, I'm back to DWing.

I have added everyone(yes everyone), and will be idling in the Wi-Fi room for at least a hour(though 2 hours are more likely).

For those who need it, my FC is 0818 9794 6532.

Also to have something of worth in my post too, I can confirm that the DW Glaceon has no egg moves, or pervious tutor moves and is so incompatible with any of those(and naturally male).

Also JoJoX3, is your problem that you are unable to write in the code for the event Arceus?

Just adding on the Arceus topic, the only pokémon you should really be rooting for were those with no relevant egg moves, as the poll winner would be an event-only DW mon and thus, male-only. I'd be SERIOUSLY pissed if Vulpix won the poll and then we had no chance to get a female one anymore.

And frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole poll was a lie and GF just wanted to give out Arceus and draw (even more) attention to the Global Link. Does anyone here think they'd give out Intimidate Qwilfish had it legitimately won the poll? Heh.

Level 100 Male Intimidate Qwilfish with Hyper Beam, I'm sure of it.

Well, I first tried it with the Croagunk event, but yes, I can´t write the code.

Have you tried to paste the code? I did that too, and if I recall right it was at a comp that didn't recognise japanese letters either.

EDIT: I'm still on Wi-Fi btw. And that won't change for the next few hours(I hope)

It's a shame we got Arceus, I can't remember who I voted for now but it wasn't him. Maybe we'll do better if we get an English vote when the games are out over here. I hope people don't waste the vote on Arceus again. :(

My internet was so slow tonight so took me ages to get through the forest, I had to leave early without finishing. I managed to get myself a female Tangela though so not too annoyed.

dw-51110.jpg

I'll pop in the wifi room for a while before I go to bed in case anyone still doesn't have me.

I don't know if I believe they always intended to give away Arceus, but I definitely think they at least had some kind of internal list of Pokemon who couldn't be allowed to win. If something like Bulbasaur or Torchic won, I say there's no way they would have given them out since they already had their special promotions that required people to spend money to get them. I also don't think they would have given out anything that they already plan to release anyway.

Theory

  • When you score well on a minigame, one of two outcomes happens: 1) You obtain a Male Pokemon with a rarer move (Egg, Previous Gen Tutor, etc.) or 2) You receive a Female Pokemon with, perhaps at best, Egg moves. This explains why all Female Pokemon encountered with the exception of Kangaskhan (always female) have useless moves. Females are more useful for breeding Dream World Abilities and as such they are more rare. This also explains why the majority of Pokemon we have obtained are Male. (skarm, andrea)
  • There are additional areas to unlock: At least a Sky World, and an Ocean. There are likely more beyond this. To obtain access you must early lots of Dream World Points which are given for playing in the Dream World. In other words, play daily. (Serebii.net, various Japanese Sources)

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!

Added move/pokes for the first 2 areas from the wiki that was posted a week ago, as well as Japanese movenames to make choosing easier. Ones that haven't been confirmed with pics are denoted with a *, but some of the little Forrest ones in 1st or 2nd gen are missing it, since I didn't check results since the last edit (oct 23)

Wow, that makes things a lot easier, thanks!

Well whatever, at least I can SR for a shiny Arceus now...
I just read this over at the wifi board.
Pokemon from the Dream World caught in the High Link cannot be shiny due to a shiny check. Can't catch eggs, obviously.

RNG Process => PID1
PID1 is Shiny -> PID1+1000000 hex
-> PID2

Not sure how to get PID1 and PID2 to be shiny to see if it checks multiple times, but I'm gonna go out on a limb and say it's infinite like the Mystery Gift one (which is XOR'd with 0x10000 if shiny). Who knows if it's just a random 0x(*0)1(*-7) depending on the seed or some other location, the main point is that shiny checks exist for both of these PID generation methods.

Same nature, since that's calculated from a previous call.
