Welcome to the Hunting Guild!

okay it's not much of a guild, but someone built an Agnaktor head on the mountainside by this house so the guild it became. I built the house into a naturally-occurring overhang in a mountain.

This mountain is a thing to behold. Also pictured: the unfinished Agnaktor head.

Yet unnamed, it watches out over the landscape. Its head is at the top of the world.

I'm going to return to Smogcraft eventually, I'm just waiting for you guys to sort out what's going on!

I hope that there is an estimate to when the full release is coming out.... I love this 1.8 server, but its a little cluttered. I think the permanent map should be bigger... Or that the village gets bigger.

My crap compy is a Dell Dimension 8200 I definitely need to upgrade...

You can try this mod, Optifine, it's widely renowned as one of the best FPS boosting mods for Minecraft. I believe it's updated to 1.8 as well.

20 is terrible, 60 aint bad, 60 is what all proper games run at, but minecraft hasnt got V-sync or something like that, which caps games to 60 fps to stop graphic tearing and shit. If you want my opinion ( this only applies to if you just use your laptop around the house) invest in a good solid PC, mine cost around 1,600 custom built myself and so far nothing challenges it. It should be able to run Battlefield 3 on high if not medium high grpahics

Going to what wolf and Dan said, I have about 20 FPS. I haven't touched anything. Should I download that optifine thing, and then do something with Java? (I'm using a gateway NV59C laptop with 4gb or RAM. getting a new one isn't an option.)

Try Optifine first, before I had my beast PC I had FPS issues and Optimine (as it was then) boosted me up from like 5-15 > 60+, and this was back in like 1.3

Or do what I do and what for an update. I have gained fps per update since 1.3 without touching my computer settings. :)

I had issues with Minecraft even on low settings a while back (which is weird since every other game I play, I play with high settings and have no issues (Java is weak)). I fixed it by downloading and using Game Booster 3, messing around with those settings, messing around with Minecraft settings, and setting Java priority to high. Now it runs just fine for me.

I use the downloaded application. I've heard some mixed things about running it in the browser, so it might be worthwhile to test that out, Ninja.

I'm going to second Dan's recommendation of optifine. It creates a noticeable difference. Also, you can get rid of that annoying bar on the F3 screen that is always blocking the coordinates and the seed, which is always a plus.

Try this optfine, see what that does. Just saying my computer is pretty beast so dont feel bad. I am running a I7-930 Processor 6gb DDR3 ram, and 1 soon to be 2 ATI Raedon 4870 graphic card.

I call it "Rawbitar".

Approx. 500 lime green, 200 black, 70 magenta, and 40 white wool blocks. An admin spawned the wool for me.

Now I need ideas for what to build next...

Rawbi you should modify that pixel art so that it uses pistons and can "evolve" straight to Tyranitar.

The sun now rises on the right side of the map. Putting north at the top. And clouds float west

The Eyes of Ender now fly up in the direction of the nearest stronghold.

New Stuff in Strongholds. Possible loot includes: Ender Pearls, Diamonds, Iron Ingots, golden apples, iron pickaxes.

Axe of Silk Touch I (Silk touch makes it so you get the block that you break. For instance breaking a glowstone block gives you a glowstone block instead of dust)
