To whoever made the chicken egg farming machine:

I love you and cannot believe I didn't think of making one sooner (probably because I never used eggs before)

I hope everybody loves the zombie spawner I made in 1.8, it's the giant zombie face near the windmill. It looks like they don't drop feathers anymore just rotten meat which I guess makes more sense.

come get free milk from simba she fuckin loves it

hilda is kinda tetchy though leave her alone

Well guys, in a little while I'll be packing my bags and moving out of the pumpkin house of doom. That's right, the pumpkin house of doom will be a free PUBLIC area that you can use for storage space. It works like this. You grab a chest on one of the floors in case you run out of space, and you take a sign from the chest. Type your name on the sign and stick it right next to your chest. That's for the first floor. The second floor will be a nice little cafe sort of floor, with furnaces and toolboxes for making items. This will be my project once I finish my new house.

I noticed that sometimes it was annoying for a noob like me to die in the middle of a cave and lose all my tools and items. So I built a few chests and placed them by the spawn. These chests will be filled with complimentary stone tools for noobs like me who lose their tools in dungeons while mining. Please help me keep these chests full with tools and please don't steal from them unless you really are in need. Thank you.

If you can't contribute tools, at least contribute sticks and cobble. That should suffice.

ugh how do you guys manage to build such elaborate houses

every time i try to build one my mind just blanks and i end up with some sort of box :L

So I was looking to get in this game, I get what the single player offers (I think, it's basically just sorta build your own thing right?). But my question is, what are the multiplayer aspects of it? I see the game has like servers and such, but what do you do exactly...and how do you play with other people? Building things together seems a bit odd to me in theory.

Well, you can mine together, and building together can actually work very well, as you have people to bounce ideas off. Multiplayer is definately a very fun game, more fun than spp I'd say.

Got another question of sorts...say I buy the game, can I install it on whatever computer I like? And then can someone else play from there with me on another? Thought I read something akin to it being your game to install on wherever, but dunno if that necessarily entails that I can do the above.

Yes, downloading the launcher is free, what you actually are doing is purchasing the account. You can log into any computer with the launcher.

Almost tempting just to wait to see if it ever goes free like it promises it will eventually...granted, that could be from soon-never also.

Uh I have never heard anything about this game going free. There is already a lovely little free version but it has its limits.

Down at the bottom of the About the Game tab:

Once sales start dying and a minimum time has passed, I will release the game source code as some kind of open source. I'm not very happy with the draconian nature of (L)GPL, nor do I believe the other licenses have much merit other than to boost the egos of the original authors, so I might just possibly release it all as public domain.

But yeah, then again rereading it that could be many years from now, so probably just better to suck up a $20 fee.

Why are there so many new people on our server? it makes me feel like a veteran of sorts, then i realized that i was only on the old smogon map living in the valley for about 4 months, there is way older people that that

I see this is your first post, so welcome to Smogon!

EDIT: Semi-represent!!! Semi cause I dunno how "vet" I'd actually be...

Found this while mining in the smogcraft server; I've never seen anything like it in minecraft before.
There were probably five or six more blocks of redstone as well that I mined out before the snapshot. Anyone know if these really big and multiore veins are some new 1.8 feature or have they always been there?
