Those blocks acutally look good. I can see them being used for a maiyan sort of temple design.

And with this griefer, too bad that workbenches aren't that versatile for looking up who did what.

Has there been a pattern though for what they've been griefing?

Ah, 1.2 preview is out! There's still some bugs in it, however.

There's 2 new sandstone-like textures that are unused yet, but look pretty cool:
__

I want that new Stone block to be craftable!! :/

Trailer looks cool, but it kinda gives away what I had planed for our map when 1.2 comes out. :(

Here's the plan:

When we get a jungle biome (I still don't know how, but you'll figure something out), I wanna build a temple in it. We already have that nice new Stone block texture (hope it becomes craftable), and along with Mossy Stone Bricks from the stronghold, the thing will look really cool. It's gonna be a big project for sure, but that's what we play on a multiplayer server for, right? ;)

The design I had in mind was something like this or this. Inside, I wanna have a monument made of gold blocks, which I already started caving for. I have around... 16. :(

So, I'm waiting for input. Any ideas/suggestions?

Well that sounds awesome! And for ideas/suggestions I suggest that if you need Gold Blocks you could always go to nether and make a Pigman farm, or be a Man! and just attack them :D

Two questions to ask of admins:

Are we going to update the server to 1.2 once bukkit updates their thing?

Are we going to get the jungle biomes and increased world height?

not quite too old for this, apparently

We'll get increased world height by default and jungle biomes by default, its just that jungle biomes will only appear where we haven't already explored which is HOPEFULLY not too far out yet...

I was going over the 1.2 changelist and saw this: "Due to popular demand, Seed info is now "0" in SMP to avoid people recreating the world in SSP"

WHY? Who the hell would want this?

yeah, pretty much just waiting on bukkit. we're considering trimming away everything past x/z=horsecock so that we don't have to go too far for new content. anyone owning developments past +/- 1500 in any dimension should contact me asap with the exact coordinates so we can figure out how much we can safely excise.

Benvdd will be trying to find a nice nearby empty biome that will be a jungle in the new seed layout and delete it. We will try to not delete anybodies stuff. So hopefully we won't have to go to the border edges just to find a jungle. I'll bring over some nice giant trees to the spawn tree farm with a well deserved expansion.

If anyone tries to build any huge ass towers anywhere near spawn enjoy your swift deletion from yours truly and I'll also send you some links about the concept of sight-lines.

EDIT: Ninja forks, but our information is both needed.

People could locate all the diamonds and such in singleplayer, and go to that location in SMP.

I'm exited about getting the jungle! :)

I really hope we#ll have a Jungle Biome next to an Extreme Hills Biome... imagine a temple inside the hills, being accessible from the jungle by climbing trees and wooden bridges!

I think I have an idea of where we could explore that is easy to get to through the nether. Just behind my house is a snow biome, and I bet beyond that area it hasn't been rendered yet. Once 1.2 comes out, we could gather up an expedition team and look around there.

Through an access of nether portals really. So it won't take long to get there. Let's hope it hasn't been explored, shall we?

You don't need to hope, you can look at the world map yourself. Anything that shows up there has been rendered.

Finally changed my fourm name to Chival =D
also, an update on Plae Pass for you guys =)
a nice picture looking towards the opposite side of the towers seen in the first pic and a map of the Town (thanks to renegade for that =) )

Would it be noobish to ask in this thread... how to get on to the Smogon server?
Not noobish. ^.^
You need to whitelist yourself - that's easy to do by joining #smogcraft on synirc. The IP is on there as well.

Guys, I have problems with Minecraft crashing, and I'm pretty sure it's not a memory thing, it just dead closes without any error message. All I get is an error report in my minecraft folder. I'll just post an example text of one here:

I've noticed a pattern with the crashes - they always happen online, and they always happen when I walk around in too many different areas. For example: I spawn, I go to Oho Oasis, I visit the Nether -> At this point, Minecraft crashes. My theory is that I just load too much of the world at one time, since if I just walk around in caves around Oho, or just stand infront of the Blaze Grinder, nothing happens. But as soon as I walk some miles - boom. The window just dissappears, as described above. I already tried a million things to allocate more ram to minecraft, but none of them worked, but as I said, I doubt it's a memory issue. I've had that before as well, but it happens VERY rarely.

HALP PLZ. :(

My solution to all things crash related: delete .bin folder and re-download a fresh one. If you are using client mods, ensure the META-INF folder is deleted.

If that doesn't work, I believe the Optifine mod has a lot of performance toggles that allow for different spec PCs to run the game efficiently, for example changing the number of chunks rendered. Could give that a go.

If that fails... try re-installing java... gl
