I said PM me if you want in, you guys just cant read!

I will add you to the list, try to read next time xD

Also I havent given out the info to anyone yet, my way of ensuring people will care about this and not just sign up and forget about it (cause really when this happens its not even fun). I will give it out once/if we get 12. If we don't I will figure something out. Also the draft wont be until as close to the start of the season as possible that works for everyone, so shit like wainwright doesnt happen until after we draft.

We will probably set up an irc channel to talk baseball all the time, so stay tuned for that.

white men cant dunk

zack greinke is white

therefore, zack greinke cant dunk

lol

there goes part of his fantasy value

I will PM the league info and shit to the people on that list on the weekend.

yeah, but it was over an easily avoidable injury. its things like that which really annoy me as a baseball fan.

Kinda funny all the other threads get a new one started every year, yet this one has been going straight for 2 years lol...guess it's because baseball eats up an almost sickening 1/2 of the year it seems with its unexcusable 160+ game schedules...

Anyways I have little confidence in my Dbacks for this year and postseason expectations, though I do feel management is going in the right direction. Plus they finally got rid of that leech named Brandon Webb, who's somehow managed to convince the Texans to pick him up despite him not being able to pitch yet.

feeling pretty confident the orioles can have a 81+ win season. ^_^

yay/nay?

yay. If the end of last season is any indication they're going to be a good, if inconsistent and young team. Not getting V-Mart is kinda meh but I like Wieters and Derrek Lee for a year cheap is good enough for a "rebuilding" team. If the Orioles can land someone like Prince Fielder then they're going to be the next Rays.

You mean, he shouldn't have played basketball? What could he have done, then, stay in bed all day everyday just so he can avoid slipping in the bathtub? It was a freak accident.

Jackal
bwebber
BiGGiE

drcossack
aamto

polelover44

post in this thread with what your team name is so we know who is who, and bring up any modifications you would like to see.

Comparing an activity in which you don't exert any energy with a physical sport is kinda pointless.

Sure, it may have been unlucky, but why risk anything like that? Granted, this is without knowing exactly what happened, but you can neither confirm nor deny that it had nothing to do with Greinke himself.

ps. I'm the Arenas, circa 1920s

Regular season + playoffs
NFL: September - February, 5 months
NBA: end of October - mid to late May, 6.5~ months
NHL: early October - Late May/Early June, 8.5~ months
MLB: April - Late October/Early November, 7~ months

it appears baseball is just about as long as any other sport that is not the NFL. the reason a new thread isn't started is cause baseball doesn't have quite the following the other three sports have here for one reason or another, i'd imagine.

also i'm team nigslammin in the league. anyone that goes to IRC, join me in #baseball. the season is starting; it'll be a good place to discuss the league and the sport.

yay/nay?

Nay. They'll be ahead of the Jays, but they still have 54 games combined against Boston, New York, and Tampa Bay.

Also, Derrek Lee is horribly overrated these days (although personally I like him and hope he can bounce back - not optimistic though).

If they played in any other division in baseball, I'd say yay. (Also, their lack of rotation depth scares me - everybody's talking about Brian Matusz, but I don't even know the rest of the rotation except Duscherer).

What, no way...freaking NHL and NBA both run longer that MLB? o.O

Man I must be missing something...I guess it must be because they play too many damn games that it seems extra long? Or maybe it is true those lazy summer months seem to make time extra long...

it may be because in mlb you can play 6 games then one day of rest until you go again. in nba and nhl they play basically every other day or ever two days since their game is more exhausting
