Sorry for the double post...but the referee plain and simple fucked that game up. That was clearly a double play earlier in the game!!! It's the top of the ninth of the time of this post and it looks like we'll be down 3-1. I can't say it's the definitive reason we will probably lose but it certainly shaped the entire way the game was played, why can't fucking umpires get it right on the biggest stage of the entire season. I hope whoever blew the call (not good with names) doesn't get another chance for quite some time...

Yeah, lots of close calls that went for the Giants tonight. But still a dominating performance by Bumgarner. And even had those calls gone for the Rangers, there is no guarantee they would have produced runs whereas three of four of the Giants runs came from home runs. Not saying that it didn't matter, but the Giants just pitched and hit better than the Rangers today.

^ This....I hate to say it but we've been outplayed for the most part this series. We can't say for sure that Hunter would've been in a similar jam had that double play been called and then things could've been different, but in the end its not like we were down 11-0 after that - the bats had plenty of time to respond and just didn't; I've seen what they can do and despite Bumgarner indeed having a great start I still think that we are way underperforming what I know we can do :/

whats with all of these bandwagon giants fans and etc. thats really annoying

i wouldnt call either giants win lucky, but last night was extremely tense, even game 1. Texas can rally really fast, and they'll probably show that sometime this series. Im expecting the giants to lose the next game (i think its at arlington) and after that based on pitching matchups

i live in california... and i've always liked the giants even when they sucked. how does that make me a bandwagon giants fan? just wondering

to guys: usually not ever talking about baseball ever for an entire season except for the world series is a sign of bandwagoning. sorry vanguard you did not really apply but there were others.

IN OTHER NEWS

im the greatest ws mvp ever

this past week was the first time i had ever looked at the socialization in the empire thread so... sorry about that?

Holy fucking shit. I just got back from my friends place and have consumed more beers than i should have but HOLY FUCKING SHIT. THE GIANTS WON THE FUCKING WORLD SERIES. 56 YEARS. 8 YEARS SINCE 2002. I still cannot fully comprehend what happened but oh my god.

Edit: and pookar i realize i never really talk about baseball and for that i apologize, just once the giants got to the post season i realized we had a chance and could not stop thinking about it.

I was really happy the giants won the world series, considering that im an angels fan and we did them dirty in 02...though i really dislike barry bonds kind of sad to see giants won a world series without him few years after he left

I'm just mad that the Rangers bats decided to die during the World Series no less , but the Giants wanted it more. What a weird October that was lol.

i like how literally everyone says "the rangers bats died" and not "the giants pitched their dicks off this series" (which they did)

I am so confused as to what the Marlins are doing...

First they trade Maybin for nothing... then they trade Uggla for nothing... then they sign Buck coming off a career year for 18mil/3yrs. Do they even have a plan?

And I am not sure what to think about Rajai Davis. On one hand, I cant remember the last time the Jays had someone who could steal 50 bases. Not since I have been a baseball fan, that is for sure. On the other hand... everything else about him is shit. Not good OBP for a lead off guy, nothing great defensively. He is like an upgraded Fred Lewis... but he is 30. He seems more like a stopgap solution rather than the long term solution, which I don't like cause we have some solid OFs in AA (Thames won the MVP in AA and is doing well in the winter leagues, and Mastroianni has a very similar skillset to Davis, is younger and under team control for longer)

This moves Bautista to third if we plan to start Davis, and I can't see him batting anywhere but leadoff. I was hoping we would have a better option by next season I guess. And if we got him as a 4th OF/pinch runner, I would rather have Mastroianni doing that, especially since one of the arms we gave up (Farquhar) has a good chance at being a solid reliever, and our bullpen is anything but full.

I know it doesn't make sense to analyze this as I am sure AA will make at least a dozen moves this offseason but right now it doesn't make sense!!

PS: get manny to me

Davis
Escobar
Manny
Bautista
Lind
Snider
Wells
Hill
Arrencibia

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

why is derek jeter and the yankees fighting???????????? :( :( he better not leave.

That's because Prado is actually good. ;)

nigga don't gimme no lip; you know who i meant.

anyways, much love to felix hernandez winning the cy young. that and joe morgan off the air is such sweet and good news!

I liked Joe Morgan though. Perfect example that talented ball players don't always know what they're talking about when it comes to evaluating the game. He was such an easy target too; he'd always put himself in the line of fire whenever he opened his mouth.

I don't like the idea of Lind at first base (would prefer if we didn't sign Manny, kept Lind as DH, and brought in another first baser, or trade Lind for someone to play first base and sign Manny then).

Wells is our highest paid player, he shouldn't be hitting 8th, although his production isn't what I would like it to be.

Molina should be the every-day catcher while we ease Arrencibia into the position.

Other than that it looks like a solid team. I think AA's plan is going to be to get good bats this off-season so that our young starting pitchers can know they will have good run support almost every day. After this upcoming season (which should be a rebuilding year), the bullpen is the next thing that needs work, and that can save some games later and hopefully make the Jays a contender. I'm not up to date on their minor league players, so maybe I'm absolutely wrong on this assumption.

Wow... just realized as I posted that our bullpen could be greatly improved with Papelbon, who said he wants to work with John Farrell. Maybe this isn't a 2 year plan if that pans out as well, although the bullpen needs a lot more help than that.

The fiasco that is the McCourts finally comes to an end today. Jamie gets her half share, and wants to buy out her ex husband.
