there's nothing to install. you just run the .exe file. what does happen when you try to run it?

It always says RNG reporter encountered a problem... I can't make it work in my house computer... But it works i the school computer... :(

ah. ok, so let's find out the problem!

go to your desktop. right click on "my computer". choose "manage". in the box that pops up you should see "system tools". right under that, you'll see "event viewer". click on the plus sign next to "event viewer". you should see a list that includes "application", security", and "system". click on "application". and look for any red "X"es in the info that will pop up in the right side of the window. if you see any look at the date and time listed. is it when you were trying to use rng reporter? if so, double click on that red X and copy and paste the details about the event into a new post in here.
 
I've read up on Captures in DPPT, and I was wondering if there was a post on HGSS ways of advancing the frame?

EDIT: Nevermind just saw it as the second post. Thought I saw it somewhere...
EDIT 2: Could someone explain Sweet scent in a little more detail, I understand the rest though :3

There were like seven of those red stuff... Six of them being the second pic...

Sweet Scent in grass advances the frame by 2. Sweet Scent is important because it allows you to encounter a Pokemon without walking in the tall grass (which advances the frame). This means that you take your target frame, subtract the monster frame (which is 2 for sweet scenting in grass), and subtract roamers. Be sure to check encounter slots too, they determine which wild Pokemon you will encounter when you use Sweet Scent. If you want me to explain it more, click on #smogonwifi in my sig :D
 
I'm planning to RNG Red Gyarados in SoulSilver. (I used the rebattle code to make it appear again.) Is this done by Method 1 like all legendaries? And is Red Gyara's Monster Frame 1 as well?

It can advance 1 or 2. It's not always 2.

yes, but make sure you enter your TID/SID into rng reporter when you choose "chained shiny". :)

are you running rng reporter straight from the archive? your problem is indeed .net 2.0, though, so at least we have a culprit. :)

I tried different stuff... Extracting, moving to the desktop, opening it... They all ended up the same...

I'm not so sure if I run it straight from the archive though.. (I'm bad with computers..)

double click the archive. once it opens, drag all the files in the archive out to your desktop, not just rng reporter. once you do this, double-click on rngreporter.exe

if that doesn't work,(and i don't think it will...) we can look at trying a few things with .net 2.0. i have a few other ideas...

Yeah... It didn't work... There was just three in the archive BTW, the RNG reporter, a .exe and a readme
 
not really, unfortunately. let me finish up and i'll post them in the morning. i want to make sure you completely uninstall it and get rid of any residue.

ok.

go download revo uninstaller free:

http://www.revouninstaller.com/start_freeware_download.html

go download ccleaner:

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

install both apps.

start revo. once it finishes populating with all your installed apps, find all the .net framework 2.0 listings(it's probably only listed once, but look through all the listed programs to make sure) and right click them and choose "uninstall". once you click that, a new window will pop up. here, choose "advanced".

now revo will start by running the app's own uninstaller. follow through and let it finish. once it is does, revo will go to work. it will prompt you to click "next" then list all the leftover .net 2.0 files. once you're here, click "select all" and then "delete".

click "next" again and do the same process one more time.

restart your PC.

install ccleaner here.

run ccleaner.

once it starts, you'll see a button that says "run cleaner" in the bottom right of its window. click that button. if it asks you about making any backups, say no.


once ccleaner finishes, it will give you a rundown of what it cleaned out along with the amount of space you've reclaimed. :)

now restart your PC again.

go to:

and download the .net frame work 2.0

once you do, go here:

and download "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" the 2nd service pack for .net 2.0

one more download:

download:

"Download the Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for Windows XP x86 and Windows Server 2003 x86 package now. "

that file.

now once you have all 3, start by installing "dotnetfx.exe", the actual framework.

once you install that, restart your PC and install "NetFx20SP2_x86.exe" the second service pack

restart your PC again and install the last update.

restart your PC one last time.

run rng reporter with your newly installed .net 2.0 framework!
 
Since this will be my first capture on HGSS around what frames should I search? Also if someone could elaborate on encounter slots that'd be great :)
 
Is it possible to use an AR when RNG'ing? I've just hit my right delay, and wanted to catch Zapdos in an ultra ball. Got him PAR, with 1 HP left, threw like 85 Ultra Balls but he wouldn't stay in >_<

So can I use the easy capture code while RNG'ing?
 
Something weird happened to my game and now I can't hit any seeds :(. I just tried to RNG something and noticed that my game takes longer to soft reset than it normally does (it stays on the blank white screen for longer before 'game freak' comes up). I'm certain of this because the timer finishes counting down before I press continue for the same delay. Everything was fine when I RNG'ed something last week. Is there any way I can change the reset time to what it was before?
