Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Hey Toast. I've been using your timer and when I update the timer it alters my calibrated delay that I entered. Is this supposed to happen? Thanks.

Yep. It's because if you have to update it, it probably wasn't right in the first place. The result will be you being able to just jump in next time without having to worry about updating. At least in most cases.

In the future, you might want to PM/VM me directly. I just happened to notice your post.
 
Alright, so I understand how to RNG for a flawless Pokemon, and have done so successfully.

I also understand how to abuse the PID to receive a Pokemon of the nature and ability that I want, as well as shininess.

But how do I put the two together, so I can obtain a flawless shiny POkemon egg with the nature and ability I want?

Is there a part of the guide I haven't seen that explains how to do it?

RNG for nature/shininess, save before you pick the egg up then RNG for IVs.
 
Oh, duh. I should have been able to figure that out...

Thanks though. Looking forward to the opportunity to start RNGing again. :)

Ok here's what I want:

No roamers.
Date: 2010 07 09 Time: 00:02:50 Delay: 1208
Elm responses: K E E K K P K P P E E E


So I set up pktimer like so:
Calibrated Delay: 480
Wanted Delay: 1208
Calibrated Second: 14
Wanted Second: 50
First Timer: 83:87 Second Timer: 26.13 Min B. Target: 1

So I set up my Ds date and time like
07/09/2010
Hour:00.00 Minute: 01

So I get ready and press A and my space bar to synch DS and pktimer....
start game, go in, wait.....then when the first timer hits 0 I press A...then I tap, tap tap...
then once the second timer reaches 0, I press A...

I access my lovely pkgear, call elm and I get some outrageous responses.
I'm surprised he didn't tell me about his dog or something.
I match up his responses and they're not even close, it says there's no match.

What am I missing here?

Not sure what this means, but

You enter the game when the first timer hits 0
You hit A past the continue screen when the second timer hits 0

If you've done this, then maybe there's something else, but that's the start of it :)

so... what you're saying is
I have to start my game on the ds menu once the first timer hits 0?
then hit A on the continue option once the second timer hits 0?

Oh and I meant that after my ds shuts off I go in my game,
and then soft reset once the first timer reaches 0 and then yeah :/
 
Correct - or you start the game, soft reset when the first timer hits 0 and hit a past the continue screen once the second timer hits 0. Either way works because it's basically the same, lol. Just what you're comfortable with.

hmmm, I've Rng'd on my pkwalker, so idk what's taking me so long :/
but your way of doing it sounds waaaay better :)

See, I hit a delay of 1211 just now :D
now that's closer :)
 
Note that if you're hitting odd delays, you'll almost always hit odd delays. Switch the year to change your target delay to odd to match :)

I keep hitting odd delays :/
so change the year? what would you recommend? I'll check it out :)
 
Well if your target is on an even delay and you're hitting an odd delay, then just change the year up or behind one. :)

Quick question: Is this a Dppt spread or a HG/SS spread? I can't seem to find it for HG/SS, but would love to use it.

I'm Rng'ing for suicune :)

BTW, I changed to year 2011 so the delay is 1207 now, hopefully I get it tonight
oh and it's a non shiny suicune.

It mentions Elm responses and a pokegear...

I think capture spreads between the two are the same anyway..

Just enter the seed into the seed to time. He already gave you all you need.

Yeah, my mistake. I was just confused because he mentioned Elm Response but it didn't show up for me in RNGReporter. But I found it in Wichu's RNG program, so everything is fine.

I was looking for this exact seed but never found it, I almost feel like I'm ninja'ing the thing now because I'm trying to get one on my Suicune as well. :P

Edit: The year has to be 2011 as well, because I need to hit an odd delay, so 1207 it is.

Edit 2: I also don't use Pikatimer, I actually use my MP3 player for seconds. Sometimes Pikatimer can throw you off if your -/+ seconds are too low in RNGReporter. Try increasing it to -10/+10 either. Usually you don't have to do more than -6/+6. Also make sure you aren't running too many programs to prevent the seconds going by very slowly.

and my question

1. what to to next i dont undestand with target seed and target frame. where i can get them
2. where i should save my game in front groudon or in front of cave
3. how to know my real seed because the seed in range in 481 - 508
4. with that data, when i need to soft-reset my game (is it 04:58:40 ??)
5. how to know my abuse success (confirm prof. elm ???) and how to do
then when i use phone is the time still run i mean time in game (because i look at rng we must get correct time to get correct result)

Hi. I have a guide for people who are new to RNG on my thread (see my signature for the link to my thread). It is written step by step. Perhaps this will help answer some of your questions about targets.

You should save in front of Groudon. The rest of your questions are covered in my guide.

Wondercard Pokes - can I RNG for both flawless AND shininess? If so, any suggestions on where to look for spreads? Ranges of delay and frame are the primary data points I'm looking for

RNGReporter - does the 'Calculate Poketch taps' function also assume that you've verified your Seed with the Coin Trick? A la Shiny Egg Finder?
