Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

OK, So I just decided to advance my RNG outside of Lugia's cave.
Here's my spread by the way:

Seed: d2140289
Nature: Timid
Frame (Method K [no synch]): 87
IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/31

And my Targer Frame should be: 87 (my frame) - 1 (Lugia's monster frame) - 0 (since I have no roamers) = 86

I've hit my seed, called Elm 10x to confirm it and I indeed hit it, just advanced my RNG through walking and turning to make things faster since I guess walking or turning on a cave with wild Pokemon would also advance the RNG by 1 (I'm using a bike anyway), and I've went inside Lugia's room immediately on my 86th frame step (I don't have to worry about the RNG to be advance when I'm walking on Lugia's room since there's no wild Pokemon there so the RNG will only advance with the total amount of my Pokemon in my party after I walked 128 steps, and it just took me less than 20 steps to reach Lugia), battled Lugia and caught him. When I checked it's nature, it's Hasty. I wonder why? Can you guys help me regarding this, on what did I do wrong, or any tips?

Thanks again!! :)

You should use Elm calls outside the cave to advance your frames so that you know which frame you're at. Walking and turning in HGSS can be unpredictable.

Edit: You can use a combo of walking/turning and Elm, but definitely use Elm near the end to track where you are.

remove all versions of .net then instead of just 2.0. then start reinstalling from 1.1 on up to 4.0. i don't know what you did to screw up .net so badly, but it's likely the only means of fixing it.

also, did ccleaner find a lot of stuff?
It did find stuff... at least more than 10, I think...

Is there anything more to download other that the 1.1?
(Like those update stuff from 2.0)

Now the problem is, when you do a step/walk that will lead you immediately inside Lugia's cave, will that also advance the RNG by one? Also, when you get the necessary frame, and go inside Lugia's cave, will it screw my frame? :)

That's why I said you might have to do it twice. If your desired frame is 45 and you stopped at 44 (+1 for Lugia interaction) and your frame turns out to be 47 or so...then you know how to adjust :)

Alternatively, since most Lugia's are Timid...there's a timid spread with a multiple of 5 methinks so you can just count the 128steps and be guaranteed...but then you might count wrong too :P

I'm so happy! :D I finally decided to try RNGing for IVs...

IVs: 31 / 15 / 31 / 31 / 31 / 31
Hidden Power: Dark (70)
Moves:
-Splash
-Surf
-Ice Beam

;P I didn't even know what its hidden power'd be... turns out it's Dark 70, xD...

Since the Shininess/Nature is determined when the egg is created, does it matter if I leave my Ditto in the Day Care? I ask out of sheer laziness lol. Like, I just keep changing parents but Ditto would be perpetually parent A. This is in Soul Silver BTW.

What you do when you have enough leeway with frames (which you do have), is you check your current frame via Elm, then walk in and out of the cave, then check again. If you see a difference in frames, then you know walking in will move your frames forward. So you adjust your final Elm calls to compensate.

That's what I do. It'll be fine.

What do you guys think of this spread:
PID: b9c9f383 (TIMID, ability 1) 29/21/31/31/31/22 (Seed: f30a0a93 Method 1: 405, J (synch): 336, J (no synch): 350, K (synch): 334, K (no synch): None) HP ICE 68
Possible Shiny Zapdos? Although, I'm hating the speed IV, but then again I didn't abuse my ID/SID.

Mine was modest with HP Grass. Yours is good though. I think the nature will make up for the speed IV since Zapdos is pretty fast anyway.

I think this question might go somewhere else though.. not sure.

Edit: Guess I should mention I don't really do the competitive battling thing so my opinion isn't really much of anything.

Looking for some advice: I'm having trouble consistently hitting seconds & spread. I'm using a DSi, and currently resetting for seed 50110262 in Platinum. It needs seconds of 13 and a delay of 600.

My last 11 resets have yielded:

13 / 594 x 2
13 / 598 x 1
13 / 600 x 2 (but on frame 14 instead of frame 12)
13 / 602 x 1
14 / 604 x 1
14 / 606 x 3

Is this a normal spread for seconds & delay, or am I doing something incorrectly here?

Umm.. If you were trying to hit 14 seconds this would be more normal. Are you using a timer or button mashing?

Synching DS clock & computer clock at top of the minute, then resetting and button mashing.

My advice is use a timer.

I believe you need to be able to reset a half second earlier which you can't do with the current method. That's the only way to get your delay high enough while keeping your second low enough.

Is the delay housed on the cartridge or on the DS system? I ask because my current DS is broken (the shell is pulling off and my L button doesn't work anymore, not to mention the Touch Sceen no longer calibrates) and I'm getting a new one for Christmas. I really don't want to have to calibrate again, but if I must than I must.

I believe the delay is counted on the cart but is also a little dependent on the DS. It will most likely be a little different. Considerably if you're getting a different model. That said, I'd leave your numbers the same and see what you hit.

Thanks Toast. I got my DS Lite the day it came out, and it's lasted pretty well since then. I must say Nintendo makes a quality product. However, I don't want to give up my backwards compatibility yet (I like my 3rd Gen carts, plus a few others for nostalgia purposes) so I'm just getting a new DS Lite. Hopefully it won't change too much.

Hello again. Sorry to keep asking questions, but I tried using the timer and it consistently gave me a reset-to-game time of 15 seconds, instead of 13 or 14. I decided I'd just keep going with synching and button-mashing, but now every time I try to I get 58 seconds instead of 13.

What did I do?

Edit: I should clarify. I changed spreads from 13 second spreads to 14 second spreads, after deciding I'd rather use the synchronization method instead of a timer. That's when this problem started. I just now went back to 13 seconds, and I'm now showing 13 seconds again correctly in the RNG Reporter's Seed Finder. Does that mean that my true seconds value is 13, then?

I plan on RNG breeding a Wynaut in SS, but it requires that one parent holds a Lax Incense. Will this screw up the RNG process?

i doubt it. i've done pikachu with a light ball. and a snorlax -> munchlax with whatever item that needs.
