Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok that makes sense cause I saw a seed where my spread showed up on frames 16, 18 and 20.

Basically, none = no chance of me getting that spread in Method J on that seed = I need a new seed?

All you got to do is a little math xD! It's not that bad!

WZ, can you give another example? I'm not sure if I was doing it correctly.

Here's exactly what I'm doing. I have a 31/31/31/x/30/30 spread on frame 65. So I look at 66's PID, and the last 4 digits are A150. So, I convert it to Decimal using my computer's calc, and then divide by 656, and I get 62. So it would be encounter slot 5?

Is diamond RNG pretty much the same as plat? I found a good timid HP Ice spread that I can just RNG onto my diamond if it's the same process.

Yuppers, pretty much. It happens from time to time. Just need to find a new seed.

The encounter slot is determined by your current frame + 1, while the IVs/nature/etc is determined by your current frame + 3, all PID numbers and calculations taken and done from the Method K values, not the "actual" values.

is what Zari said. So you'd need to find -3 from your target spread. Which would be 62. You'd take frame 63's last 4 digits, convert it to decimal. Divide by 656, whatever you get put it into the encounter slot info. Should be what you get.

But from the math you did in your post, yes, that's correct way of doing it.

I don't remember the +3 happening, but I could test it later on my Korean HG .sav.

Diamond has even and odd delays mixed together. Where are Plat has one or the other.

Ohh... I didn't know that xD Ok, thanks! I think I got it now. So I would want 62 to be my target frame, or do I advance to frame 62 then SS?

Ah ok thanks WZ. Even + Odd delays isn't too bad considering the only Pokemon I'll have to catch with that spread that I won't be catching in Plat are Darkra, Azelf and Heatran so it's not too bad.

I am stupid.

Nah, it was the last post of the last page and it went rather quickly.

It sucks that we can't use Honey, as we'd then be able to use a Synch.

BCC is stuck with just a synch, or just a Sweet Scenter. Sadly just one or the other.

Yeah, it's not too bad. If you get accustomed to the even + odd delays, you can get real good at C-Gear abuse in 5th gen as well. :)

ok I'm trying to calibrate on Heart Gold on the emulator (DesMUME 0.9.7), but the delays are just crazy. Sometimes I hit 529 then I do the exact same thing and I hit like 555 delay. Does anyone knows what could be causing that?

Here's my first ten tries:
1 - Delay: 529 - Seconds: 7
2 - Delay: 527 - Seconds: 7
3 - Delay: 543 - Seconds: 7
4 - Delay: 545 - Seconds: 7
5 - Delay: 543 - Seconds: 7
6 - Delay: 529 - Seconds: 7
7 - Delay: 551 - Seconds: 7
8 - Delay: 543 - Seconds: 7
9 - Delay: 549 - Seconds: 7
10 - Delay: 555 - Seconds: 7

At least the seconds are a sure thing.

You don't need to calibrate on an emulator. You can reload save states, view initial/current seed in memory etc thus no need to calibrate.
I'm not even sure how you'd sync a timer like EonTimer with desmume. You'd probably need a timer on your phone or maybe on another computer.
Here is a useful video on emulator RNGing. He has like 6 more videos so it's pretty long. Might want to load them all at once in separate tabs so you can toggle between them and skip the parts where he's just searching stuff.
Also download the RNG package from here.
You can download the text guides too if you prefer reading than watching.

Yeah, I know I can use save states, but I still need to hit my seed lol And if the delay keeps jumping around like that I won't be able to D: Also I was always very bad at hiting delays like 2000 or something like that. I rather go for a high frame, so I don't really need a timer besides the computer clock. I'll check those videos, thanks for the information. I'm new to Emu RNG, but since my DS is with some problems I need to keep myself busy XD

Ok, here's a little exercise: Reset the emulator (ctrl+R) and make a save state in slot 1 at the menu screen right before you enter the game. Load the save state (F1) and Mash X to go in game. Do this a few times and check what delay you hit each time. The delays you hit should all be very close if not the same. If that works then you were doing it wrong before (watch the video). If it doesn't work...well I'm out of ideas.

Lol, now I feel stupid to .-.

Edit: So my target frame would be 62? Or do I advance to 62 then SS?

Advance until you are on frame 62, and then sweet scent.

When abusing on an emulator all you have to do is be within the 2099 (year) delay range of that seed. So if it's a delay of 1000, and you're on 2011. You would need to be at a delay that's between 912 to 1011 in order to hit your seed. There is more than enough space between those two delays to hit just about any delay. All it takes is patience.

I've been hitting a delay of 7,000 for the past week on an emulator.

Ok I just saw all Kazo's videos and yeah, you don't really need to calibrate lol Thanks for the help USDHitmontop and Winters Zombie. And specially Kazo for the videos, really helpfull.

Once again, I'm trying to RNG catch munclax on honey tree in Diamond. What I want to ask is that when the tree DOES shake and munchlax DOES appear, if I soft reset, change date and time then will munchlax still be there so I can RNG him?

ok I'm in front of Zapdos on HG and he is advancing my frame by 51 each time I talk to him. What the hell have I done wrong? I killed roamers, have the pokerus thing done and the egg has been showed to elm.

You're using Kazo's help program right? Are you sure you're looking at the correct memory location? The current seed (frame) address is 021D15A8 and the initial seed is to the right of it (initial seed should be obvious, it's the seed you searched for).

Yes I am. I advanced my frame to 170 (target is 173), everything was alright, called Elm twice, but then I talked to the damn thing and the frame just goes crazy. Sometimes it advances 51, sometimes 17 and I can't manipulate it. I just don't understand :/

Wait...are you talking about the frame changing after you enter the battle? The frame advances when you're in a battle. You just need to get to frame 173 then battle it and catch it. As long as you're on frame 173 before you talk to it you should get your target Zapdos.
Btw if you're on frame 170 you need to make 3 elm calls not 2.

Thank you very much UDH, I misunderstood that part. I tought I should get to frame 172. Plus the monster frame, it should be 173 but that was not the right calculation. I got to frame 173 and got my zapdos xD Thank you again for the help.
