Mingot: Noticed you don't have Darkrai and Arceus on the OP for initial frame. Both are Initial Frame 1. Kinda obvious to most of us, but, I thought you might want to put them up for completeness sake. : D

Thank you for the reply.

Ok, so if my target frame was seven, I begin at 1, 2 because of a runner, then walk 128 steps with 5 pokemon. I'd be at seven. Then I want to catch heatran, So I talk to it, and what does his frame of 1 do?

And if they are different, where can i then find the frame, i can only find the offset.

This is how it works basically.
Going for 7.
7-2 (heatrans frame 1 + runner's 1) = 5
5-5 (walking like you said 128 steps)

So you are right.

Could someone confirm this:

A Japanese Ditto (checked it in PokéSav) + an English Migrated Pokémon from Emerald

On a English Platinum is an International Parents, right? I tried twice but no success.

Wow, that's weird. Yes those definitely count as int. parents.

That should be correct. I've been using Syberia's Ditto and getting the spreads I need that are only for international parents.

Yeah, will try one more time.

Hmm..Ok, well I caught mine on a Jap Platinum, so that shouldn't make any difference. Will try again.

EDIT: I don't have all Poketch apps. could that be the problem?
EDIT2: I've searched for the PID in the Normal and International list, and in the International list I couldn't find it but in the Normal list I found it, so probably the migrated a making it not international

A quick question, if I catch a pokémon before I capture my actual legend, with how much will that advance the RNG? Two? I don't get what is stated in the OP.

I'm going to start SRing for Legends on my platinum, because:
A. I have not caught/released any legends but Mespirit and palkia.
B. Heatran is LV 50 and Regigigas is lv. 1
C. The three Regis are available as are the three birds.

However, I do not use action replay on my platinum game. I would like to know, how many rare candies are advised to level a pokemon up enough to check IVs? Because I'm having a tough time finding high-leveled magikarp in the Resort Area.

I guess I will try asking again:

I can't find this anywhere: How do you guys manage to find good Legendary IV spreads with the RNG Reporter Time Finder? Whenever people are showing off flawless Legends, they are always captured in some year way in the future. Do you seriously have to run the finder for every single year?

I understand that there are lists out there with good Seeds, but what about Shinies? That would be different for everyone's game, right? How do you go about trying to get a Shiny Legend?

I see people saying this like "RNG for Legends is WAY easier than breeding" but I don't see how. S:

First, run the Time Finder, DPPt Capture tab. It will give you a list of shiny spreads for the year you choose, with the maximum offset and delay range you inputted. Then, you get the SEED (NOT PID, seed), open the "Seed to Time" window and click "Generate". It will give you all the possible dates/times you may get that seed in that year. However, as "delay+year" is a constant, if you want a different delay, you just has to change the year.

Say, to me, the seed 0E000282 returns a shiny Careful 31/31/30/13/31/08 spread at offset 4605. Using the Seed to Time window, among a lot of other dates, I get 2000/05/01, 00:09:00, delay 642. However, I cannot get this delay easily, so I change the year so I get a delay I'm used to. My best delay is 597 so I subtract 45 of the delay and add to the year. This way, I get year 2045, delay 597.

EDIT: I'm testing something that could help to some new people to get shiny eggs a little bit easily.

Cool, what is it?

@Mingot: I've been seeing a lot of these kind of questions lately and I wrote this small tip a while back and thought it might be helpful. Of course it's up to you if it is OP worthy, but I just thought that it would be heaps easier if people could narrow down what could be going wrong without having to ask every time.

Obviously can be tinkered with in any way you see fit.

I probably do need to add a "troubleshooting" section, so thanks. Need to also clear it up to make sure they were not using an everstone and go over finding your position to see where the mistake was made.

I'll get them up, thanks.

A quick question, if I catch a pokémon before I capture my actual legend, with how much will that advance the RNG? Two? I don't get what is stated in the OP.

Depends on cave or grass. You will need to use the actual field of the Pokemon you catch and then add to that number to get the next frame. It's somewhat of an advanced topic at this point, suggest you avoid doing it until it is documented better.

plus, how do you check the ivs of your seed?

Well, there are IV checkers out there, like MetalKid's which is linked in the OP at least once.

Or with RNG Reporter 5.0 you can just go to the one routes where there are level 50+ Pokemon and enter the species/nature/characteristic/stats and it would be able to find your initial seed with no IV checking at all. It's pretty slick, if I do say so myself.

No you DON'T have to run it for every year. Run it for a high range of delays. Year and delay are linked. The same Pokemon you catch in 2000 with a delay of 650 can be caught in 2050 with a delay of 600. Anyhow, WHAT are you trying to find that it can't find it with a reasonable delay range in your year?

I am seriously looking forward to this. *_*

Heh, I accidentally left parents in the daycare, but they didn't have an egg and it didn't affect my outcome when I placed the right parents in~ Would have thrown a fit, too, I spent a long time looking for that shiny spread DX

Oh, well, got my spread anyway.

How is this possible?
i always get an even delay. but now I got 603 when 604 was needed, then I got 672, then 612 and then 615.
I just cant get under 610 anymore?

Is it normal for the RNG Reporter to have found no reasonable initial seed five times in a row? Also I would like to thank Mingot for the greatest version of the RNG reporter yet in version 5.00, with the ability to find our initial seeds without having to go through that laborious process of leveling the pokemon up with rare candies:(

actually, that was not what i meant. i meant where do you check the ivs of the egg before the taps?

Not sure what you mean. Are you mixing up a few steps for shiny breeding? IVs aren't generated till the instance you get the egg from him, and tapping is part of the process that gets you the egg in the first place. I'm sure you could use AR to check the IVs of the egg after you've gotten it, or hatch it and level it up with rare candies.

-edit-

And thanks, mingot, for the latest version of the RNG Reporter! Just downloaded it, and it looks wonderfully user friendly * u *

Maybe your finger is tired? Or did you switch to DP from Platinum? Delays are higher on DP.

No, it's not normal to have it happen once, really. Are you sure your hour is correct? That would cause pretty much none of them to work ever. The hour is really the most important bit of information you enter.

So, to check if I got the delay/seconds right, I flip a coin 10 times right?
But HOW DOES THAT TELL ME IF I GOT IT OR NOT?
All the thing says in RNG Reporter is Heads or Tails.
Am I supposed to use the last results? The first one? The one with the most flips? I'm so confused.

If all the ten coin flips match with your delay's, then you hit it.

Yes I'm sure that my hour is correctly entered *goes to check* oh stupid mistake I entered the 15th hour when it was really the 14th hour:( Thanks for the pointing out of my silly mistake.

I'm just using platinum. And I don't think that my finger is tired, because i used to get 606 without any effort.
So i can think of 3 things.
1. my rom broke.
2. the IV check code doesn't work properly, but the RNg reporter does accept it.
3. RNG 5.0 has a bug, or has to be used differently.

What is the most likely cause?

The most likely cause that your delay is higher is that you are taking a longer time to get to/through the continue screen. ROMs don't break. If the IV check code was not working you would not be getting any results. The code related to delay has not changed in RNG Reporter and you don't need to use it any differently.

5.0 doesn't have a bug. All he did was add the IV checker mainly, without changing the other parts. There may be a problem with the rom or you are making a mistake somewhere else.
