Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Yes, I did. It's still not working. I have no idea what's wrong. It's 6:41 right, so that should be 18:41 right?

And I know that it HAS worked before doing the exact same tyhing, as I got it to work. ONCE. And now it refuses to work no matter what.

Okay thanks, I'll try the tip for the NPC. The seed I'm using is one of the recommended one listed in part 5 of the rng guide. So I shouldn't have to add anything, correct? Also what do you use to hit your delay if you don't use Pikatimer, is there a better program?

If your target delay is 600-699 you can adjust the years until it become a delay you can hit.

If your using the seed from the guide then you dont have to add anything, just subtract 1 - any roamers.

Do the wandering NPCs inside the Pokemon Mansion advance the frame for the Pokemon in the Trophy Garden?

Also, what is the encounter slot for the "Pokemon of the day" in the Trophy Garden? Thanks.

No and the current pokemon of the day has an encounter slot of 6 and the previous has an encounter slot of 7

That list is fairly out of date.

Speaking of which, I ask all fellow Smogon RNGers to give their feedback to that list. I'm almost done with a compilation of what was done at that time plus a lot of personal updates. Please take some time and check the link on my sig, so we can all come up with a final list of NPCs for both D/P and Plat. Thank you

Blitzenith that is correct.

Question for wondercard Pokemon: if I adjust the year on my DS to get a better delay, there's no way to change it back before getting the Pokemon correct? On a slightly different note, is there any reason ever to change the year other than to get an easier delay (like maybe to get a seed you couldn't get in an earlier/later year)?

Also no one really answered this question of mine: is it normal that you only ever hit your delay like 20% of the time, even after doing the calibration? I don't understand why during the calibration phase the guide tells us to narrow down our delay to +-5, when we need to hit an EXACT delay when trying to get a particular spread. Are you all able to hit an exact delay 100% of the time and if so how? I'm not sure if this part is really this hard or if I'm just missing a tip which is making it a matter of luck for me.

I still can't get RNG to find a seed when my AR is in. It works every time without the AR and never with it. Any thoughts or suggestions? Obviously "don't use the AR" is an option, but it's a big reason I bought one. It's supposed to make the whole process easier, no?

Yes. You just have to get the flow of how you tap.
For instance, I have delay of 600 and 602 on plt and 628,624 and 618 on diamond

Nope, unless probably your using like a pikatimer or emloop but that still wont gurantee a 100% rate (too many humor errors)

I'm not sure if this part is really this hard or if I'm just missing a tip which is making it a matter of luck for me.

You can find initial seeds and calibrated delays with an AR, but you can't get calibrated seconds or rng with an AR (beside shiny egg rng)

Are you entering the correct information and sync your ds to a clock?

Blitzenith that is correct.

If you adjust your year to get a better delay, you cannot change it before obtaining the pokemon. (although, I will test the possibility of doing this with save states...) Besides easier delays, most people change the year for aesthetic purposes; ie: luvdisc caught on valentines day, or dusknoir hatched on halloween, etc.

And 20% is still one out of five tries. That's not bad at all! There has been times when I hit my target seed on the first try and there's been times when it takes me 20+ resets. As long as you can get it in a reasonable amount of tries, does it really matter?

When I used to use AR, it would take longer for the game to load because the screen would be white for a few seconds before starting the game. Have you re-calibrated with the AR plugged in?

Thanks for your help DarkChaos! I'm happy to know that I'm not doing something wrong at least!

Thanks for your help Supe also! But the thing is it does matter for me because I'm going for a Wondercard Pokemon and so the nature is random. Or should it still not matter for me, am I missing something?

I'm actually also interested in this question; am I correct in saying though that with an AR there's no way to hit many of the spreads you could have hit without using an AR?

You can initial seed (which is the basically only thing you need an ar for)
you just cant use it doing the actually RNG process because of the startup time of the AR and you going to have to SR on a target time

Snus
1. Did you sync your ds?
2. Are you using IV checker?
3. Are you inputting iv and not stat(of low lv pkmn) in iv checker?
4. Make sure your not building up a huge delay (waiting on the continue screen for a long time, or you will get that error)

Anyone knows how much would the frame advance if I had on max repel a walk 1 step?

Are wonders' stats determined before the fight or when you talk to them?

Also, I'm only using IV checker. My start up time (As determined by me watching a clock) is 23 seconds with AR, 14 seconds without. I'm inputting IVs into the Reporter and I'm synched to within a tenth of a second.

I just downloaded PokéRNG DP, and it works great! I have two small suggestions:

When I run it, the line of text regarding Hidden Power base damage is cut off in the middle of a word, and the window can't be stretched any more horizontally. Here's what I get:

Input the minimum Hidden Power base damage. (between 30 and 70; values outside t
his range will be ignored)

If other people have this problem, then it might be a good idea to put a "\n" before the word "this." Also, you mentioned the lack of CSV output and average IV search functions; I personally never had any use for the average IV search, but I sometimes did find the CSV output function useful. I think it might be helpful to have it as an option (i.e. have "Output to CSV? (Y/N)" as a final question).

Thanks, and keep up the great work!

It's not that, I can't even calibrate with the AR. I get the No reasonable IVs or w/e error.

so this is what you did?
-start up with ar
-catch a pokemon afap
-check its ivs(your using an ar, you may as well put in the iv check code)
-put the ivs of the pokemon you caught into seed finder on rng reporter

the frame should remain the same. ar only changes the delay, but by a lot. this means that some seeds (in 600-700 range) that you have used before will be close to impossible to hit.

good point.

sort of obvious, but an understandable mistake

Heres my question

If I
1)Activate the Manaphy egg code in platinum
2)Enter my Diamond ID/SID into RNG reporter, find a shiny spread
3)Complete all the work on Platinum and recieve the egg.
4)Trade over the egg to Diamond and hatch under the ID/SID used in RNG reporter

Would the Manaphy be shiny?

I realise this would work with normal eggs but WC events shouldn't be shiny

For wondercard ivs :

I did my calerbration face and my delay was 630 and seconds were 14
Then i got the frame i want pressed Time to seed change the year so i get my delay as 630 so then what can i pick any time ?

Yeah, any time from the seed to time part of the RNG Reporter. Put the seed in it's text box, and have the year so that the delay needed is 630. Then just click generate, and look for one with your average seconds (14). The you just need to hit the delay and advance the frame and you'll get it :)

@BIM: Yes, that does work. People have done that a few times on here. Just make sure that you go for a spread that will be shiny in your other game. PS: The video of it hatching won't be shiny, so you'll need to check it's stats page to see if it is shiny.
