Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

I had a rather odd experience using the roamers method to check my seed today. I don't know if this is addressed in rommstar's version of the programme, as I was using the Japanese one...

Anyway, I input my seed. I have one roamer out, Entei. According to the programme, for my seed he'd appear on route 30. So I tried to hit my seed, and what do you know, Entei's on route 30. I caught my Pokémon and... no, that's wrong. Turned out I'd missed my seed by 2, and also my frame was off by one. But according to the programme, Entei shoud have been on a different route for that seed...

So, I tried saying I had Raikou and Entei out. Aha! Now, it's showing Entei as being on route 30 for the seed I actually hit; and this also accounts for my additional frame. So, what, the game thinks I have a phantom Raikou running around?

Now I tried again and again got Entei on route 30. And the same thing happened.

And a third time... Entei on route 30... and woah, I've hit my seed. And hit the right frame. So, the phantom Raikou vanished...

Any explanations?

Yeah.
1. Use Romsstars programm, it has fixed some things of this prog like frame displayment and stuff (great guy btw!)
2. Actually there is one thing that wasn't covered yet but can be covered now and I intend to update the Guide as soon as I get to it. Explanation part:

As it's been reported rarely but still reported that Routes didn't match, mingot researched on the Route Boxes and now their function is really clear.

When you save your game the Routes are stored in the game.
So when you save your game and intend to do delay+seed stuff blabla,
note BEFORE you reset the Routes of the Roamers when you saved.
Input them into the Textboxes.
Try this.

The part where Romsstar is puzzled

I just wondered about one thing:
PID: ec963d8f (TIMID, ability 1) 31/19/31/30/30/31 (Seed: ee1208cc Method 1: 100, J (synch): 1, J (no synch): None, K (synch): 1, K (no synch): None) HP GROUND 70

I got this Shiny Spread from OmegaDonuts List.
Now while I can use it of course for the Roamers the problem is:
While it is Method K, and appears only at Frame 1 with a syncher, I'm not able to Sweet Scent because my Frame would be too high, I'm not able to Use Elm for Verifying because Frame would be too high.
All right Roamer Method left.
But even with one Roamer out, my Starting Frame is about 2-3.
If I fight against a legend it would be 3-4.
If I use Sweet Scent 5-6.
The question that came into my mind is:
Would a Synchronizer be actually able to push me from Frame 4-6 to Frame 1?

I am currently doing this on my R4, nothing else is inserted.

Thanks for all the help, I'll let you guys know how this works =)

All this and it wont even be perfect, my parents were pretty bad and I wanted to try getting one in a frame I can hit consistently without having to advance the frame, so the spread will be 31/31/31/31/29/20, yeah, 20 in the most important stat, but whatever =)

Lol. After setting the year back, and re-generating my Egg IVs section with 2009, I found a seed that was 603 (The same stats as the 2010 602 was), and of course, my first try I get an even delay.

Grr...

Should I just go back to 2010 and pick an odd delay instead of an even one? Or am I missing something (again).

Yeah.

Doesn't that actually appear on several frames with a syncher? Frame 1 is just the earliest one. As far as I can tell, it crops up on 11, 19, 25, 39, 49, etc... as well.

EDIT: Oh lol, actually forget it, RNG Reporter + Synch Nature... it's late here.
Thanks Showsni^^

Oh, yeah, sorry didn't mention that. The delay of your seed will also change the same way. If you're still having trouble, I sugest you find a new seed on an odd delay, or use a 3rd gen cart if you have one available.

Back on track now, since this is all just learning how to do it, I guess I can handle my first RNG being subpar, really need to find some better parents =)

Okay, yes, this is nooby.

Im trying to just hatch a shiny egg and when i try to find my seed its giving me more than one result. it says if that happens, just try again, but i have multiple times with the same result.

Any advice?

I am able to determine my initial seed, but am unable to get RNGReporter to generate frames from it. I have followed the directions for getting the frame generation (steps 1-4) from here and am still unable to get any frame spreads from my initial seed of 6C12020D. I have Breeding (HGSS) selected on the drop-down menu.

Those directions are for diamond, pearl, and platinum.

Thats what the DPP stands for in the title.

well, I figured that finding the initial seed value would be the same reguardless...I know that I don't have coin flips, happiness taps and all that to go through. I was primarily using it as a guide to find my initial seed. Is there anything different as far as finding initial seed that I need to know about for HGSS?

Is there a different way to figure out if you are on the right frame / delay when SRing for a certain IV spread?

Right now I am spamming B once I hit continue, getting rid of the Journal, spamming A to grab the egg, and then hatching it. After that, I Rare Candy it up to 20 to check the IVs, then figure out where I am.

Is there a way to figure it out without leveling up the Pokemon? I want the finished product to be level 1, and this way it goes up to level 20.

I don't think so. Checking your frame/delay (in this case, your seed) would require you to catch a Pokémon without any of the NPCs moving right before or after getting your egg.

So basically, you have to check its IVs, since you're in a heavily random NPC environment.

Although, if you were to be REALLY fast, you might be able to fly somewhere without NPCs that move randomly and see if you're close.

How do people offer their Pokemon at level 1 then?

Random thing I've noticed and observed about RNG Reporter:

In the Egg IVs section, why is there no option to input your parents, so that when you search for eggs with 31 in each stat, it wont show ones that inherit non 31s?

Right now, for example, I have a 8 in one of my parents HP, however, when I set it to search for one with 31 in HP, it will grab all of the ones that are inherited from that parent.

EDIT: Running into a brick wall with the same problem as before too, Every single IV I want to use seems to end up on the opposite of the one I can get. If I need to be able to get an odd delay, I'm only ever able to get even, seems like no matter how much I alter it's always the same way =p

Right now the two spreads I want to hit on frame 7 are:

2010/03/11
09:01:13
609

And

2010/03/31
09:33:13
609

But both I end up only getting even results for, is there a way to remedy this?

Leap of faith. They look at the characteristics that show at least one IV is 31 and say "hey, I hit my frame." Then they save and actually check it with Rare Candies.

Or in Platinum, talk to the guy in Battle Tower and he'll tell you every stat with a 31 in.

But both I end up only getting even results for, is there a way to remedy this?

Change your year by one?

I know this is a stupid question but im really stuck. I'm learning the calibration phase and im at "Hitting you target time". What is the target time and when do i get it? Is it something that i get when breeding for perfect IVs?

EDIT: Sorry, i neglected to read the definitions bit, the link i followed took me straight to the calibration part.

I try doing things like that, if I change my year by one, the values of the IV spread change, and then I need an even number and can only get odd, lol.

What?

Okay, say you want the following:

2010/03/11
09:01:13
609

that's exactly the same seed as

2010/03/10
09:01:13
610

so all you do is change the year, keep everything else the same, and this time you'll be able to get the delay you want.

And no, your position doesn't really matter at all.
What really matter is if your frame was advanced in any way besides the Roamers, which is very possible at Sudowoodos.
Same goes for Snorlax, this bitchy beast can be hell to RNG.

Just thought I'd tell you how I RNG'd mine without the frames jumping all over the place. Actually I don't know if they affect the trainers affect the frame as they're moving in a set pattern, but anyway, onto what I did that may make it easier for you to abuse when you get round to it :P.

The NPCs at Vermillion city don't affect the frames so there's the three (?) moving trainers on route 11.

Unless you plan to catch Snorlax, ignore them. Get the flute for the radio and go down from Lavendertown with what you need to catch Snorlax.
Fight all 3 trainers on Route 11 so they stop moving. Shame there's no vs seeker, so when you battle those three trainers, immediately afterwards go get that snorlax ;).
Then it's calm. Advance frames away and there ya go. Easy as pie :).

When I want to search for compatible shiny spreads with my SID and ID, dfor my SS game, do I have to select method K, and write down the seeds and IVs one by one, or is there a faster way to find them?

The fastest way to find your shiny spreads is probably using Wichu's PokeRNG which is downloadable on the first page. You can save the results its gives you and refer to them later- no writing necessary ;)
