Thanks, I might actually do that. I'd still rather look for a solution that I can use now, since I'm pretty impatient about things I need to breed.
Haha yeah sorry can't help you with that part. Also if you do buy new buttons make sure you get the right screwdrives to do it. Can get those pretty cheap too. Thanks, I might actually do that. You could try to pick your game like in the ds menu when the first timer goes off? I used to do it kinda so it works decently but not as well
That didn't change your Seconds, did it? I might try this a few times and see what happens. I probably won't be able to hit lower delays, I guess.
Well, like I said, I'm using a DSi, and it doesn't force you to turn it off every time you set the time. It does have a pretty big lag between selecting the game and actually starting the game though. When my second timer ended (for a delay of 517) I was still 1-2 seconds away from the Continue screen.
Ok...I attempted to RNG a wondercard on HGSS for the first time. I hit my delay and I advanced my frame to 135 ( I needed 136) and then I talked to the delivery guy. When I received my Jirachi I got the one that had the IVs for the frame of 134. How did this happen? I know I hit the right frame because I was keeping track with the RNGreporter.
Also, the two roaming dogs are out as well. Do they affect it?
that's what went wrong, you got that message, even not getting a nibble advances the RNG, normally by 1 but looks like by 2 in your case or 3 since you can't distinguish 60 from 61 it can be either. This is HGSS right?lol...
I hit the seed, advanced the frame to 54 (target is 58), then used the good rod (it's supposed to advance the frame by 4 right?) but i got the not even a nibble message - then i used the good rod again immediately after and got a pokemon with the spread/encounter slots on frames 60 and 61 (they're exactly the same)
so what did i do wrong?

nope that message will always appear for that frame, so if you stopped at frame 54 and used the rod you should have landed on frame 58, but when you fished you got the no nibble message. So, for that frame you will always get that message. I'm afraid your going to look for a different frame that has the spread you want. By the way, are there any NPCs that move randomly in the area your fishing?yeah its HG
so does the not even a nibble message appear randomly no matter what the frame is? (so, do i have to keep hitting the seed, advancing the frame to 54, then using the rod?)

I have a Japanese HG game, which I intend to RNG in. However, as the elm calls are in Japanese, I cannot advance and check my seed accurately. Does anyone have the translations of which call is which, or a way of telling what Professor elm is saying?
Your delay was a little higher than usual that time, big deal. It just means that you reset a tiny bit early or entered the game a tiny bit late.
Does anyone have any methods of RNGing (DSi) that don't require soft-resetting? I think I've heard about starting from Pictochat or something?
I can RNG just fine, but I think my DS buttons are wearing out or something, because when I hold L, Start, Select, and press R to reset, nothing happens...This is really frustrating me, so if anyone has any input I would love to hear it. Thanks.
Pretty sure i mean 2 dogs, 2 frames?
Well, thanks guys. I don't know if you can imagine how annoying it is when you reset at the perfect time, but your game doesn't actually reset...
